"C'mon.. Almost.. There..."
Daedra huffs, dragging the limp, cracked body of Radagon, who he saved in the nick of time, to Raya Lucaria's Library. Thanks to Grace, he was able to do this..
Mages and mad men only watched, as the Tarnished, ever determined brought Radagon, the second Elden lord back to his love long past..
Radagon was silent, having not said a peep this whole time. Daedra was determined though.
Rennala hears the dragging, someone approaching. As she looks up, her sapphire eyes widen in shock, her jaw drops open. Rennala's hands release the amber egg she held so dearly, it gently rolls off of her lap, across the floor.
Her hands cover her mouth and tears well in her eyes. Daedra, bloody and beaten from his fight with the red headed Radagon, collapses. Radagon falls off of him, laying limply on the floor.
Rennala crawls hurriedly across the floor, to Radagon.
The man she knew looked a former husk of himself, a shell of Radagon.
"Radagon..."
Her voice quivers, lifting him up into her arms, seeing what has become of the man she called husband, reared three children with. One of whom she loved so dear.. And left her.
Radagon, just conscious enough, makes a soft noise. He remembers Rennala.. His one true love. The woman who held his heart in the palms of her hands..
"Nnh... Renna.."
Rennala stifles a sob, he left her so sudden.. His departure was a sunset. His armor glinted in the light, red hair, soft and silken, fluttered in the wind. When he gifted her one very last thing.. The amber egg, concealing a great rune of his own.
He didn't want to leave her.. The little ounce of freedom he had.. The joy of life, waking to another body in a warm soft bed, greeted with a love undying, a flame buring brightly to never extinguish-
Radagon can still see that very flame in Rennala's teary blue's. Though, a small piddly thing anymore. It still burns for him.. Flickering to his flame, which did more than flicker. But.. Currently it can barely muster a mere flicker. He is weak..
Radagon missed her.. He never stopped missing her. He never has.. Every single day he dreamt of Rennala. Being held by her again- his presence cherished not just for duty.. For no reason other was he cherished by his other half, Marika, other than for reason of state. For political matters.
But Rennala? There was more than political matters that tied them. Rennala cared about him, as a person. Hand in hand, heart to heart. She listened to his burdens, heard him with an honest ear and a open heart.
He's never known such kindness such as hers.. And it stung. It squeezed his heart in agony, tears pricked his eyes. Often, did he hide his anger, his sadness.
Here she is, holding him, cradling his broken, crumbling body. His golden rune glimmers from the dark cavity of his body. Her face, though blurry in his vision, was clear as the moon above the lake.
As the sun against the blue sky, dotted lovingly with a gentle hand, white fluffy clouds floating peacefully. True serenity was held within her touch, even now..
Her elegant, pale hand was cold against his cheek. Her tears were bittersweet and salty.. Trailing down his face, pooling at a corner of his mouth.
"Oh Radagon... What ever has't happened to thou-?..."
Rennala's voice quivers as she speaks, Radagon's presence was a great surprise, unexpected. But he was brought here.. Had he shown up, it would have been under different circumstance.
She's been awaiting his return ever anxiously- would he ever do so. And he is in her arms, may a god be gracious enough to spare him, but in this broken state.. It may not be possible.
Radagon painfully raises his hand, ever so slowly.. To return her gentle caress. His hand, cold and scorned from the ages, was still warm. Rennala's tears wet the cracked skin, grayed and dead long ago.
"Oh Renna.. Dearest.. Rennala.."
Radagon croaks, his throat is ever so dry. Daedra, recovering slightly from his exhaustion, looks up to see beside him, the Full Moon Queen, cradling Radagon, Marika's other half. What would he be, now that he lay dying in his former wife's arms.
"I.. Missed.. This.."
Radagon says with a sigh, his thumb caressing Rennala's tear streaked cheek, attempting to wipe away the salty liquid.
"What-.. Dost thou mean...?"
Rennala asks softly, her heart shatters to see him.. Especially like this. Resting in her lap, fading in her arms..
She remembered the yesteryears, when their children were small.. When she would awaken to Radagon's side empty, to find him making breakfast, Radahn and Ranni clinging to his legs, and Rykard on his shoulders, watching him cook.
She was always met with a smile, a loving embrace, the sweetest of welcomes after she's risen. Like the gentle warm rays of the sun, bathing her skin in a light of love and adoration..
That sun died long ago. As the world fell into turmoil and chaos, she knows two of her children, their two sons, Radahn and Rykard have fallen a short while ago.. Bless their souls, and may they be welcomed to the celestial plane. As their mother.. She always wanted what was best for them.
Rennala loved all her children, building up their destiny with Radagon. He loved and cherished them, their beautiful mother received all his praise for helping rear such a beautiful family..
But that's all in the past now. They are gone, and only after such a tragedy to Rennala's heart, does Radagon make his way back to her.
She won't deny this meeting.. Even if it's their last.
Radagon breathes deep, before he can speak.
"Thou.. Renna... I.. Missed thou.."
Radagon's voice is just above a whisper.. He's so weak, his voice was never too loud, moreso quiet. Calm and collected, he's a studied man, and didn't speak up too often. But, when he did, it was certainly worth hearing what he had to say.
Rennala couldn't stop her tears, all these years she spent heartbroken, it won't stop after whatever comes of this... Unless some merciful god spares Radagon.
"Thou missed me..."
She says softly, caressing his cracked cheek with a frown. Radagon's other hand comes up, and holds hers. Intertwining with it from behind.
"Do not cry.. Renna... I love thee.. I always.. Always have.. And always will... My darling moonshine.."
Radagon's eye produced a singular, golden tear. It travelled down his cheek quickly, unannounced. Radagon was rare to cry.. Very rare. Rennala can't say she's ever seen him cry.
"Oh, Radagon.. Why.. Why didst thou leave me? If thee claims to love me-.. Why?.."
Rennala sounded begging almost. Daedra watches this transpire in silence. He knows their tale, it's a tragic telling of war, love, and loss.. May this meeting, if its the last, be one of amending.
"Twas.. Not what i wanted.. The Greater Will.. I had to heed it's call... What a fool i was.."
Oh how he wished he could've ignored the call of Destiny. For what was his existence, other than to fulfill what Marika wanted? Well she got what she wanted, didn't she?
His destiny was fulfilled. Ending him by the hand of the Tarnished, but instead he was dragged here by Grace. Fate is a sick, twisted thing.. Especially by someone elses hand.
Rennala sorrowfully sighs through her nose, resisting sobbing. She holds his hand, squeezing it, and Radagon squeezes back.
"How I yearn for this meeting to have gone different.. Thou is't fading before mine very eyes.. Aren't thee?"
Rennala asks softly, Radagon gives her a smile that is small, and weak. He can't even muster enough strength to nod his head.
"Im certain.. That death has me.. It shan't let me go.."
Rennala shakes her head, she wanted to deny it. The fact that Radagon has been returned to her in his dying moment's, by a Tarnished she knew so little about. Was this truly an act of kindness, or is it some divine punishment?
It doesn't matter now. None of it matters.
"Oh-.. Radagon..."
Rennala's voice quivers as he leans over him, to kiss his lips this final time.
Her eyes close as she leans down, and Radagon makes no movement's. He let's her, he wants to feel her kiss again.. May he be dying, but there's nothing more he wanted before his time came, than to make amends with Rennala.
Her lips press to his dry, chapped ones. Not the soft, warm, and loving flesh she once knew. Radagon remembered her lips, though. Just as soft as he remembered, maybe she bit her lower lip, to stop her sobbing after he left her, thus scarring it. It didn't feel the same.. But that's his fault. Isn't it? That he ended up like this.. Or is this true destiny?
Radagon's heart ached the moment he had to leave. He knew how broken Rennala would be, yet fate and duty summoned the hound, to return to the golden empire that was never pure. Not under Marika.
Rennala pulls away, her arms wrapped around him further, cradling him in her lap.
She presses her forehead against his, Radagon's hands slowly fell limp. His golden eyes open, but not fully. He won't be here much longer.
But still. He manages to smile up at her. Another golden tear darts down his cheek from his eye.
"Rennala... Forgive me.."
The Full Moon Queen continues stifling her sobs, though her tears come faster than she can blink. A broken smile worked it's way onto her face, and she holds him ever closer.
"I can forgive thee.. But i shall never forget.."
Radagon, with what little energy he had left, laughed ever so gently. And lifted his hand, to caress Rennala's cheek this very last time.
"Maybe... That's a good thing... Renna-.. I.. Love thee… So… much.."
He was tired. Oh so tired.. This was it. The curtains were being drawn, his show has come to it's end. Only two spectators were to witness the very end of his performance.
How Radagon wished he was born to a mother, so he could abandon his destiny, and have spent eternity in Rennala's arms, happily ever after. Or.. Did he have a mother? Maybe brothers? A past so far distant now.. He cannot recall beyond his arrival in Leyndell. Much too long ago, any more..
Rennala was the last thing he will see. And he's happy with that.
Rennala kisses him this one, final time. A wave of cold washes over him, and the last bit of warmth left in Radagon.. Leaves him. Rennala felt the warmth abandon his lips.
Radagon, is gone.. The Crimson Sun has set. His weary journey has come to it's destined end.. Rennala cradles his body, and his form begins to fade away, upward in a stream of golden shimmers. His body slowly leaves the physical plane, to spread out into the sky.
Rennala's arms rest in her lap, as she watches the golden shimmers leave upward. She swears, she could see Radagon's face, whole, peaceful, within the gold shimmering, before it too, disappears.
The Blue Moon Rises alone. Her Crimson Sun is gone, truly this time.
Daedra gently comes to stand, his injured body limps over to the lonesome queen. He puts a comforting hand on her shoulder, which he's met with a kind, gentle hold of her hand. Silently, he mourns the Moon's loss with her.
Maybe, in another life, another dream, The Crimson Sun and his Pale Blue Moon be together, truly, for the rest of eternity.
