Work Text:
Angel was scowling. Evariste couldn’t quite see what she was staring at, but whatever it was, had apparently offended her. “What’s the matter, my Angel?” Evar asked.
Angelique pointed an accusing finger at Evar. “Don’t you pretend with me! You know exactly what’s wrong.” Angel said.
Evar gazed at her, an innocent look of confusion on his face. “Dearest, I can’t possibly know what is wrong if you don’t tell me.” He protested. “Maybe I can fix it for you.”
Angel narrowed her eyes at his innocent expression. “I don’t believe you,” she muttered.
Evar waltzed over to her and draped an arm around her shoulders, finally seeing what she was looking at. The tea cabinet. “Is there something wrong with the tea cabinet, Angel of mine?” Evar gazed at her expectantly.
Angel narrowed her eyes at him. “Fine,” she said. “I’ll tell you.” She gestured at the neatly organized teas. “Tell me where my favorite blueberry tea is. There isn’t any there, and I know Alastryn gave me enough to last months. So where is it?”
Evar widened his eyes innocently. “I’m sure I have no idea where your tea is. Maybe it grew legs and walked off.” Evar suddenly smiled. “But it doesn’t matter. We can just go and visit Emerys and get you more!”
Angel put her hands on her hips. “I knew it! You hid it.” She said, “You hid it so you could go visit Emerys again.”
Evar ran a hand through his silky blond hair and smiled winningly at Angel. “I didn’t hide it. I have no idea where it is.”
Angel raised an eyebrow. “You had Stil hide it, didn’t you? So you could claim innocence for the whole thing.” Angel threw her hands up in the air and sighed. “Oh, fine. We’ll go see Emerys. Maybe Alastryn will give me my tea in a box that can’t be charmed by two of the silliest men I know.”
Evar slipped a hand around Angel’s waist, his eyes twinkling. “I’m sorry you think so little of our son!” He said with a smile. “I’ll have to tell him that before you had even fully finished accusing me of hiding your beloved tea you were accusing him. Especially as he wasn’t the one to take it!”
Angel scrunched her nose in confusion. “Then who…”
“Emerys of course!” Evar said. “He came over last night and stole the tea to give to someone else. I can honestly say I have no idea where the tea currently is.” He smiled and ran his nose along Angel’s cheek. “I love you, my Angel.”
“If you’re trying to sweet talk me into not being mad…” Angel trailed off. “You are incorrigible.”
“Does that mean we can visit Emerys?” Evar asked. His eyes glittered with excitement.
“I don’t know why you’re asking me for permission. You are quite capable of making that decision for yourself.”
“Yes, but it’s more fun when you come too.” Evar wrapped his other arm around her and kissed her temple.
“Alright.” Angel said. Evar kissed her before she could say anything more.
When they broke apart, Angel glared playfully up at him. “Don’t think I won’t charm my tea box with a spell that makes whoever touches it without permission be overly honest for months.”
Evar laughed. “I’m sure Alastryn would love a spell like that!”
“I’m sure she would! Maybe it would keep you and Emerys in line long enough for the rest of us to relax.” She teased.
Evar smiled and kissed her again. “I love you, Angel!”
“I love you too!” Angel said. “But can we go now? I really would like some tea.”
Evar grinned and kissed her again as he raised his hand to begin gathering his magic for a portal.
