Chapter Text
"Ikey, my dear, pack your stuffs, okay? We going to move out to the city next week."
"...can I just stay here?"
His mom shakes her head. "No, sweetheart. You're too young to live on your own."
Little Ike frown. He don't want to leave, especially it is so far away from his hometown. He likes to be here—not to mention his favorite neighborhood library, the librarian always sneaks out some snack for him, the tiny park where he can sit under the tree while reading books, and starry sky outside the window that he frequently gazes at whenever he feels bored.
He reluctantly packs up his belongings—his books, his stuffed dolls—then leaves some text books for school next day until it is time to moved out. After that, he walks to close the curtain, but stopped a while to admire the stars in the night sky.
It is not like he have a lot of memory here; after all, he is just an elementary student. But little Ike already think that he is not going to enjoy city. One of his classmate is from the city, Ike remember overhearing when they talk about how's city with the others; there is a lot of people, a lot of skyscrapers, when you look at the sky, you going to see city lights. Even though his classmate telling them how majestic is that, Ike silently disagree.
If there is a lot of people, there is must be more loud noises out there.
If the night view is city lights, there is no stars.
What is so majestic about that?

Softly, he is trying to make sure his voice won't be heard from the call, he ask, "Mom, can I go outside?"
His mom give a slight smile and nod, "Sure, make sure you're not walking too far—ah, sorry, I was talking to my son. What was that again?"
Right after his mom approval, Ike get off from his chair, looking around his new house. The house is pretty big, the yard only at the back side of house. The gap between other houses are narrow. There's white tall fences around the house blocking his view, so Ike decides to sit under the tree on the backyard.
Little Ike feels a bit tired from moving out. Slowly, because of his sleepiness, he close his eyes—
"Ah!"
Ike open his eyes in surprise. And the first thing he saw is—
—sun.
A little bit confused, Ike rubbing his eyes and adjust his sight. It's not sun, it's someone head—or hair, to be exact. At that moment, Ike realized that the boy is climbing the fences, and if he keep moving he's gonna fall.
"W-wait!"
Ike get up abruptly, trying to catch the boy. But he is not strong enough to stand the boy's weight, so both of them ended up collapse on the ground.
Ike groan, but the blonde-haired boy smile brightly instead.
"POG! You catch me!" His smile so bright especially because Ike need to look up to see him and sky at the same time—it feels like looking at actual sun.
"That's dangerous..."
"It's okay, I have eight-leaf clover luck!"
That's not the case, he thought. But Ike ignore it by sighing instead.
The blonde boy get up, stretch up one of his hand to Ike—helping him to stand up. Then, he immediately shake Ike's hand, "My name is Luca! Luca Kaneshiro! What's your name?"
"H-huh? Ike, Ike Eveland—"
The sequence that happen make Ike, who is still confused, just let Luca shake his hand so hard in excitement.
"Nice to meet you, Ike! I'm living next door, let's be friend!"
Ike want to ask why he come by climbing fences instead of going in from front door, but Ike going to save that question later.
"Nice to meet you, too, Luca."
