Chapter Text
It all started one day, just me, alone. I was 14 years old and I had just gotten ready for the first day of high school. I wanted to be done with this place as soon as I walked in. I tried to find new people but they just looked unapproachable so of course, I was nervous. Once I saw my old friends, Tommy and Eros, who looked like they both were heading in the same direction that I was going, I headed towards them and just hung out with them for the time being.
“Look at my child, already in high school, time flies so quick. I remember-” I cut Tommy off with a side-eye and he immediately looked at me but before anything could happen, Eros came between us.
“Hey hey now, let's not get into a fight already, we just got here.” He cut in smoothly,” We can fight later but lets at least get to our first period please?”
Tommy and I reluctantly agreed, and we started to walk to class while retelling each other things we did over the summer. We got to class early so we just make some more small talk until we had to go inside the classroom.
The teacher, Ms. Minson said that we could choose our seats for the day, as she didn't know our last names so she could place us in alphabetical order later. As what we called, our ‘iconic’ seats. Eros on the left, me in the middle, and Tommy on the right. I’m in the middle for a couple of reasons. One is I have the worst sight, two, because all our names are so similar we're probably going to get seated like this anyway.
There are a couple more reasons but the main reason is so they don’t distract themselves, which then distracts me, and then the whole class gets caught in the crossfire.
It doesn’t always work.
You can’t blame me though, the class was hella boring. By the end of the period, we were already bored out of our minds.
“Can we go now? It’s too dull for me?” I whine.
The bell rings just in time and I bolt out of the classroom, forgetting to say bye to them, already leaving for the next class.
Turns out it is a lot more difficult when you don't know where exactly you're going. It was about to be the second period and two girls looked like they were following me at first. It was really weird. Like we all were looking around to make sure that they didn’t look like they were following me.
And once we ended up in the same room, I said with surprise, “So you two took choir as your elective as well? I glanced behind me and a girl with black hair except for a section that was a greenish color, “Well I’m Eddie, ”she then gestured to the girl beside her, who had light brown hair and a purple streak in her hair, ”-and this is Violet! Sorry if it seemed like we were following you.” I said with relief in my voice, “Oh thank goodness, I’m Blank by the way”
It was a fun period. Once before we split separate ways, we decided to exchange phone numbers and I promised to make a group chat later that night. Right before we left we texted each other to make sure we got the right phone numbers and then we were on our way.
I wish I could say that the day was exciting, but it was the tootal opposite.
Until the last period.
As I was walking to the lockers, some girls were looking around and I immediately knew they were plotting something. But I decided to stay out of it for once.
After I got changed, I went outside to the blacktop. Once I got to the blacktop, I saw Tommy and Eros and decided to jump on Eros, cause he was the strongest out of the three of us. I gave myself a running start and while I was running towards him I saw Eddie and Violet but I was too close cause right after I looked back I decided to just jump on him. Before he could turn around I quite literally pounced on him.
“AAH WTF BLANK.” Eros yelled.
“Good afternoon to you to Eros.” I smiled cheekily.
While Tommy was laughing his butt off, Violet and Eddie came over to me, looking like they had just seen a wild koala but really fast.
“Well isn't this a surprise!” Eddie said, “I didn't know you were in the same pe class as we both were! She exclaimed. The teacher told us to sit down so he could explain what we were going to do.
It was exhausting, to say the least.
“When can we stop running already?!?” Eros complained.
“I second that,” some kid added, as he ran away form us.
We both laughed and then Coach Eagle signed us to run 10 more and everyone complained. Once the 5 minutes were rung I bolted for the locker rooms.
Once I headed to the locker room, with everyone else behind me, I instantly ran into a pan. Everyone behind me just stared. I still wonder to this day, how they fit a cooking pan into their backpacks. A cooking pan. One of the girls in the class looked in fear, knowing they didn’t their friend. They ran away after and I was so shocked I decided to collapse.
“You need to pay attention more Blank, you're going to get hurt even more if you keep this up.” Tommy decided to lecture me while putting a bandage underneath my eye because of the pan incident.
The pan itself decided to give me a black eye and a dent under my eye, which made me look cool but feel stupid. At first, everyone was worried, but I just laughed it off.
