My name is Oscar Oddwood, Portman to King Henric Wolfson, and this diary shall be a record of portmans and partizans from history, as a tutoring tool, and so my own knowledge of these roles may be passed on when after my time to the next generation of portmans.
Portmans are an incredible asset to royalty and other ‘elite’ peoples, assisting them in hiding their identity, taking on the public role themselves to conceal the true identity of their master, and to protect their secrets no matter the cost.
Partizans are highly trained and loyal bodyguards, historically the same age or similar to that of their master - even at a young age - in order to seamlessly blend into the surroundings, as a lady-in-waiting, courtier, or indeed a schoolmate in the most recent case of the young princes’, Claude and Alexander
These roles have been served in secret for centuries, with no single known origin to the roles. However some secrets were kept better than others, and the poorly kept, can serve to teach and inspire that which came after.
The Maravish Royal Family, since even before the Wolfson Family’s ascent to the throne has been rife with Portmans and Partizans, myself being the Portman to King Henric Wolfson. On the following pages I scribe a Family history of sorts, that documents not only our rulers as our people knew them, but also the brave Portmans that stepped up to their role to protect the crown, from the beginning of the Wolfson Reign, to our two young princes, and their future.
