Summary:

A report on how to overcomplexify the integration of your not-an-alter-ego into your construct squadron, also known as, the integration Camu to the Strike Hawk squadron, assisted by Kamui and the concept of love.

Chapter Text

The absent-minded thrum of Kamui fingers across the lid of the maintenance pod carries a staccato into Camu’s ears- a caricature heartbeat. He was nervous, again, the emotion spilling over the thin bond between them, swelling with each passing day. Why?

“Why are you fidgeting so much?” Camu sighed, opening his eyes. Kamui lit up, as he always did, when Camu started a conversation across the glass. “Good morning!”

“You’re nervous,“ Camu directed back. “I can feel it. Why?”

Kamui’s smile wobbles. He looks shy, and Camu got the sense it was a foreign emotion to cross his face, as little of his face Camu had seen so far. Had he been better acquainted with others who knew Kamui though, they would would have assured him in his assessment.

“I want you to like them,” Kamui confessed. “I really, really want you to like them. I want them to really, really like you too.”

Camu closes his eyes and hums. A few more days of Asimov stabilising his frame and he’d be handed off to Kamui’s squad. The meat of the issue, it seemed.

“You worry too much. I love you, so of course I’ll love what you love.”

Kamui turns bright red.
