RavenClaw just really wants to kidnap Jesse

Summary:

RavenClaw sneaks away from camp to visit her kittypet partner as he decided whether or not he wants to leave his comfortable kittpet life.

Essentially my OCs being cute

Notes:

I just wanted to throw this out into the world. These OCs are really close to my heart so I'm just writing out some little oneshots for them. I might flesh it all out into a proper story at some point.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

RavenClaw had never been an early riser, not until recently that is. She wanted to keep the rest of the clan from finding out. She slipped out of the den, her years of sneaking past sleeping cats had never helped her more. The moon was still hanging in the sky but purple lined the horizon soon to twist into pinks and oranges and then into blue. By the time Ravenclaw couldn’t see camp the sky had shifted to pink, the morning smell added to her good mood.

After a long walk she could eventually see the outline of a large twoleg nest, the pointed top of the nest pointed to the fading stars. Looking down towards the clean white fence surrounding the nest she kept her eyes towards the wonkiest plank in the fence, the bottom of the plant bent and curved outward, the nails sticking through it bent and dull. A shadow shifted under the board as fur slid through the cracks between the boards, a wide grin spread across Ravenclaws face as her eyes widened in recognition. Her slow pace walk quickenned into a run and then into a sprint, she then skidded to a stop where the white face of her fluffy mate stuck out from the white plank, his paws stretched out to drag themself further out. “Now Jes, you know you can’t fit yet.” Raven giggled at his discomfort, “yeah well if I don’t try the board will never bend enough for me to ever get out.” His strained voice highlighted his struggle. “Move you fluffy oaf, I’m coming in.” RavenClaw pushed her face into his neck to push him back out of the gap. He stumbled against her force, for such a large Maine coon he lacked strength, especially with his wobbles.

Jesse couldn’t fight her pushing and backed out and away from the gap to let her through. “There we go. I wasn’t able to bring you any fresh kill this time, I woke up later than I wanted to. Maybe tomorrow I can bring you something still breathing so you can try catching something yourself.” She sighed as moved to push him over and lay herself over his clean white fur. “Stop taking advantage of my wobbles to lay on me! You know I wouldn’t be able to catch anything.” they huffed, stretched out on his side. “Yeah well I can weaken it a bit for you, maybe then you can catch it.” She nuzzled into him further. “But then it wouldn’t count. Even if you didn’t weaken it, you bringing it to me is cheating.” There was a pause in the air before she broke out into a laugh, “I don’t understand your obsession with fairness. It’s life and death, making things easier isn’t cheating.” She shoved her paw into their face, “well for a forest cat I guess nothing counts as cheating.” He huffed. “Hey now is that a dig at me? Have you grown back the pair those twolegs snipped off?” Her gentle grin stretched into a smirk, pushing him to challenge her further. “Hey too far! Unless you’re ok with me batting out your last eye.” He’d gotten cockier since their first meeting, he had been trembling like a leaf then. “Wow I guess you really have gotten more confident. Is this a sign you finally want to be dragged out of this stinky twoleg nest?” Her smirk dropped into a hopeful smile, “I..I don’t think I’m quite ready for that yet, I haven’t even met any of your uh..” “Clanmates?” “Yes! Clanmates! I haven’t met any yet.” He stuttered through, it seemed he only had the confidence for a few teasing lines today. “Well you’ve met me, I’m not the easiest to get along with. I think the only one who would trust me enough to let me drag them out here to meet you is CrowStar, but I’m not sure she’d want to meet a kitty pet who's not 100% sure they want to leave the twolegs.” She slid off him and helped push him up. “Well if you were to bring her here for me to meet her, I would be 100% ready to leave with you.” He looked down at her earnestly. She stared up at him for a second before showing off a toothy grin, “well we better start making that gap big enough for you then!”

She glanced up at the sky that had now turned to a gentle blue, her clanmates were probably awake at this point. RavenClaw turned to look at Jesse who was already sharing a look of understanding. Walking towards the gap she slid smoothly out of the fence, she almost startled when she heard Jesse throw himself against the fence in an attempt to break it open wider. “Hey now don’t hurt yourself! We can work on it over time.” She rolled her eyes at his eagerness. “I’ll get hurt as a warrior, might as well get used to it.” He whimpered, “We don’t hurt ourselves intentionally!” She said watching him push against the plank. “Somehow I doubt that looking at you..” He whispered. She gave a warning bat to his face before turning and flicking her stubby tail at his face, she heard a sneeze as she giggled and began her walk back to camp.

Notes:

RavenClaw is the first OC I ever fleshed out, I made her when I was in primary school as a year 5. Shes been the base for many of my OCs growing up. Jesse was made second as a partner for her in a story my friend and I have been working on every now and then for years.
