Chapter Text
It was a dark and dingy day (England weather, you know), rainy as it was, the streets of Birmingham. Our two protagonists were wandering the streets of this city in the Midlands, stopping and listening or watching any street performers they may come across. It was a cold winter so everyone around wore coats, it was like a huge crowd of what looked like Roadmen and Chavs to be honest (and it probably was), but the big black puffer jackets surely didn't help their cases.
"Hey Harley, can we go home" a groan escaped Arden's mouth "it's getting really cold"
"It's really not that cold but if you say so" answered Harley, knowing how sensitive Arden's skin was.
They both shared an apartment. Being partners, it didn't really matter to them how small the space was. They were both quite clingy to each other, and so they were never quite apart for too long (save for when they went to the bathroom). They shared a room, bed, they even had showers together, it was almost as if they were joined at the hip.
After they eventually got back to their apartment, they both got changed into something warmer. They unpacked what they got whilst out in the streets. They got some new clothes, pyjamas, some new furniture, just some necessities. As the cost of living in the UK was quite obviously rising, and they weren't the most well off for money, they huddled up in their bed for a while, just relaxing and warming up.
Harley, being a foot or so taller, was spooning Arden as the big spoon. This functioned quite well since Arden got extremely cold very easily compared to most other people. His skin was also easily damaged, like if he lightly bumped into something hard, he would get a rich purple bruise which would then turn into a cool green toned mark on his skin for a week or so.
He started to feel something graze along his back. Slowly creeping up. He noticed that Harleys breath was getting more harsh and troubled. Arden momentarily froze, holding his breath, before turning around to look at his lover. It turned out that Harley was now curled up into a ball.
HAH I BAITED YOU LMAO
"Love? Are you ok" Arden was getting a little bit worried.
He managed to uncurl his lover a bit to get a good look at his face. He was sweating. A lot. He hurried to the medicine cupboard in their kitchen to grab some paracetamol and ibuprofen just in case, as well as some cool water. He hurried back to see Harley now sitting up in their double bed.
"Here. Drink some water." Whilst Harley was drinking his water, Arden reached his hand underneath Harley's fringe to clip it back. He then put the back of his hand against Harley's forehead. It was hot. Maybe even burning. He had no clue how this could have happened. Harley always had some kind of almost resistance to the fever, he was always the one to get a fever out of the two -being the one with sensitive skin. But this was odd, Harley never got sick. Something was obviously wrong
