A Father-Daughter Bond

Summary:

He doesn't mean to have a favorite but he does, she doesn't mean to have a favorite (yes she does) but she does.

Notes:

I love Bob and Louie's relationship, okay? It's my favorite part of the show.

Work Text:

He doesn't mean to have a favorite but he does.

Okay, favorite is a bit strong, Bob loves all of his kids equally but he just gets along better with Louise than Tina and Gene. It's not their faults, it's probably his honestly, he just can't connect with them as easily as he does Louise. It's been that way ever since the day she was born and honestly he doesn't see it changing anytime soon.

She doesn't mean to have a favorite (yes she does) but she does.

Can you really blame Louise though? For the first eight years of her life her Mom was way too pushy when it came to their relationship, of course she gravitated to her Dad! Plus... her Dad just gets her, in a way even Tina and Gene don't. It's always been that way, and she doesn't see it (hopes it doesn't) changing anytime soon.

The two of them just have a really close bond.

They wouldn't say they're the closest in the family, that honor probably goes to Linda and Gene, but the ones with the strongest bond? Maybe. Sure, they don't always get along, and they bicker more times than not, but they're there for each other when it really counts. The whole family is like that, really, but it feels more pronounced with them. To them, at least.

They may be exceptionally close with the rest of their family, but what they have with each other feels more special. Their lives just wouldn't be the same if they weren't this close to each other. And that's what makes everything okay, all the fighting and the bickering, all the downs that come after ups -because they know at the end of the day they'll always have each other.

No matter what.
