Chapter Text
“You know, you are really starting to get on my nerves.”
The man in front of you scoffed, shaking his head. “You know, Y/n, sometimes I forget just how stubborn you are. Just like your father.”
“Well, excuse me for not cooperating, you star-spangled freak. It’s almost like-” You gasped dramatically, “-you kidnapped me!”
The rope dug into your hands from your position tied to the pole behind you. They were relatively loose, honestly, but that didn’t make it any less rough. You weren't originally tied up, but after you had kicked Sam in the balls, they weren’t too happy.
“Holy shit, kid, just tell us where your dad is planning to strike!” Sam said, still slightly hunched over from your attack earlier. You rolled your eyes.
“I told you, he’ll tell you when and where. Not like you and robo-man over there need that much preparation.” You shifted your legs to a more comfortable position, chuckling a bit. “I know you aren’t going to really hurt me, Steve, but you aren’t very persuasive either.” You had a shit eating grin on your face.
“You’re a little brat, kid.” Said the guy with the long hair – James ‘Bucky’ Barnes was his name, though you haven’t officially met. You groaned and craned your neck to look at him, as he was standing a bit behind you.
“Yeah, okay Jesus, it’s not like you have a perfect record either.”
He scoffed, and Steve did that weird thing where he looks away and flexes his jaw when he’s annoyed.
“Come on Y/n, we just want a little information on your dad. You’ve known us for years, don’t you trust us?” Sam said, exasperated. You narrowed your eyes.
“Oh, sorry for not being so willing to give sensitive info to the people who, first of all, kidnapped me, and two, are running around with a war criminal. I don’t know you people anymore, so you better stop acting like you know me.” You spat venom, words you knew would sting Sam and Steve deep down, even if they didn’t show it. They watched you grow up, babysat you at times, were your belated uncles.
It sucked ass the way they and your dad were fighting. You hated it and you wanted your family back. You, however, wouldn’t be getting over this little abduction anytime soon.
You had been in the back of the car in Romania, where you had been for the past few weeks on a visit to the city. You were supposed to stay for another week, but your father had called you to say you needed to get out of the country fast. He wouldn’t tell you why, just that it was for your safety. You supposed you knew why now.
They had caused the car to crash in a minor accident and pretended to just be visiting the city, like you. You hadn’t heard the news yet, and you were trusting to follow them. They had taken you to a warehouse, which was a bit odd, but they had never hurt you before. You were scrolling on your phone when you saw dozens of articles, and Steve must’ve noticed when you realized because he was quick to plead his innocence.
Sam had put his hand on your shoulder but you shrugged it off, telling him to not touch you. And then, after he had told you to ‘just calm down’, you had kicked him in the balls. James Barnes had come out of the shadows and tied you to the pole and, well. Here you are.
“Y/n–” Steve started, but was interrupted by the sound of repulsors quickly approaching.
“Oh! Dad is going to be pissed at you guys.” You laughed, watching as they raced out of the room. They outnumbered your father, but they didn’t want to take the chance that he had someone else with him, you supposed. Or perhaps they didn’t want to blow their cover yet. Too late, because you were going to tell your dad exactly what happened.
