Work Text:
1/4: Eyes blue like the sky. Cliche I know, but they were certainly as clear as one. They were beautiful; as beautiful as you. You were always insecure of your face, but everything complemented each other. Mainly your eyes.
2/4: Eyes brown. That’s it. I looked into them and saw nothing. There was nothing in my best friend and lovers eyes. That must be something huh.
3/4: Eyes green like the field we laid in together. Like the playground we sat in. They looked blue sometimes, but in the light, they never faltered. They were beautiful, but not enough to keep me. I regret to say I had eyes for someone else.
4/4: Eyes brown like the woods we ventured in together. They were almost black with how dilated your pupils were. Ironically, they were always the brightest eyes in the room. They would always drill into me from across the room. Especially when I wasn’t looking. I could look into them for hours, and I did. With such beautiful eyes, it’s no wonder someone else fancied them too. You didn’t mind that your eyes weren’t just for me. I remember telling you your eyes were hazel, so you agreed and told your family. You knew they weren’t. You didn’t correct me. Maybe you liked seeing me in awe about them. Maybe you didn’t know. But then again, how could you not know your own eye color. I guess I was wrong. I guess I thought your eyes were more special than they really were. I was seeing things that weren’t there. But when you closed them, I missed them. Even though they seemed plain to everyone else. They may as well be red now with the amount of rage you look at me with. Or maybe green with disgust. Without me in your sight, they shine brighter than they ever did before. I still think your eyes are beautiful. Even if they aren’t the hazel ones that I thought they were.
update:
5/7: Eyes blue like I’m not sure what. They weren’t the focus of my attention. I focused on your smile more than your eyes. I still noticed the adoration radiating from them though.
6/7: Eyes brown like your hair. Your hair was flat, similar to your eyes. The only shine they had was when they were looking everywhere but my face.
7/7: Eyes blue like the universe. They shone green in the sun. I saw my whole world in them. Your pupils dilated when I looked into them and I thought you were the one. I was too focused on your eyes to notice how your smile faltered.
