Work Text:
The feeling of cold metal came back often at night when he felt safe, eyes closed.
Every sensation felt real. Everything was here : the metallic bars, the darkness around him,the taste of his own blood, his throat aching from screaming, the long hours he spent on the floor, waiting for anything really... Everything.
Yo-yo was there again. He came back to this cell often. He knows it's not real, him being held hostage in the Fortified Residential Zone was in the past now.
He has nightmares and flashbacks about this cage. He couldn't control that and he knows it. This place scarred Yo-yo and left a wound that seemed like never healing. He just wanted it to stop. He can't do this anymore.
The teen woke up finding himself aching for air. He was out of breath and soon enough his whole body was shaking. His brain was acting as if something deadly crawled behind his back.
A thought looped itself in his mind,as if it begged and cried out to make it stop. Make everything stop. It hurts,it hurts him. He hated this,he was scared of his own dreams. Make it stop, make it stop, make it stop, make it—
"Yuki."
The teen noticed that a familiar blond guy with tired blue eyes looked at him in concern on his left.
Corn was here right next to Yo-yo. It took some seconds for the latter to remember that he was at the other's place.
Yo-yo was still panting, trying too hard to breathe right.
The blond moved closer and held his hand tight. He tilted his head. "Are you okay ?" Corn quietly asked.
Yo-yo's lips twitched,he wanted to say something. He needed comfort. He needed comfort so badly but his body stopped him from saying a thing.
"Hey..." A warm hand rested on Yo-yo's shoulder. And in a matter of seconds, the ginger was in Corn's arms. The blond stayed quiet and rested his head on the other's collarbone.
Yo-yo cracked. Tears rolled down on his face as he cried his fears out for the night.
He held Corn back and let the warmth bring comfort to him. Yo-yo felt weak. Crying was weakness around others but he needed it. This was one of the many faces of Yuki, whether he liked it or not.
Kazuya rested his head now on his boyfriend's shoulder. He could feel him shiver, and that kept him worried. He never saw him cry,and he never thought it would be this hard to hear.
Minutes passed without a clear word. It took a while for Yuki to calm down,to not struggle for air... The silence became trust as they almost got too comfy with it.
Yo-yo sniffed, his eyes getting sore. The blond teen reached for the other's face. With his thumb he wiped his tears,a tender look in his eyes. "You're fine, man."
-"I'm tired." The ginger whimpered,pulling Kazuya's t-shirt. "I'm so tired."
-"I can tell."
Yo-yo didn't want to look at Corn. He didn't want to look stupid, pathetic or whatever around him. Fuck this.
"Yuki." Kazuya called.
-"Hm..?"
-"I know that whatever happened is in the past but uh...Do you want to talk about it ?" The blond asked.
Yo-yo let go off the other teen... "No. Sorry. Remembering would be worse." The teen mumbled.
All he needed was a rest and nothing else.
Corn did not insist on that.
"Okay." He smiled. "Do you need anything thought...?"
The ginger shook his head and stayed quiet. All he needed was a rest.
"Fine." The blond sighed,still concerned.
-"Yo...Don't worry too much about it." Yo-yo let his head fall on the pillow beneath him.
-"Can't help it." Kazuya laid down next to him. "I care,y'know."
He's too nice. Yo-yo's mind wondered how the fuck could Corn be this nice to him. He is nice enough to show compassion for the worst of people,somehow...
The ginger always felt like his old reputation as a trickster would give him the image of a bastard, but here he was getting comfort from a guy he never thought he'd be this close with.
Yo-yo closed his tired eyes. "I really don't deserve you, man."
He felt the other's fingers runnings throught his midly damaged hair, from all the dye he puts once in a while.
-"Doesn't matter if you do,I just care."
The two quieted down and made room for the same silence of earlier. The ginger put an arm around his boyfriend and got closer. Corn did not protest and just let it be.
Both snoozed off after a while. It took more time for Corn to do so since surprisingly,Yo-yo snores. At least the thoughts of yesterday were no more for the night...
