Chapter Text
This is a book about a dystopian world so there will be a lot of themes such as abandoned buildings and apocalyptic settings.
There will be excessive amounts of swearing/foul language.
The exact definition of dystopia is an imagined state or society in which there is great suffering or injustice, typically one that is totalitarian or post-apocalyptic.
This can be caused by a natural disaster, war, or pandemic. Examples of dystopian worlds are ones in novels like Brave New World, the Hunger Games, Divergent, Ready Player One, and the Handmaid's Tale. These are only a few greatly known titles, you can find many more.
There are usually only two extreme classes in dystopian areas. There are the super high-up, rich and powerful, usually with good social or political standing. Then there are the lowest of the lows that live in very slummy places and are usually ruled over by the upper class. The majority is going to be in the lower class with only a handful of peoples in upper classes. Unfortunately the upperclassmen tend to be very corrupt and make decisions based on their gains and interests instead of the peoples', which typically causes the lowerclass state to get worse.
Generally the plot will be revolving around some people in the lower class, in the slums. Because of this there will be a lot of the following themes:
- Violence/street fighting
- Crude medical procedures
- Oppression
- Totalitarian-style ruling
- Abandoned buildings/facilities
- Slummy living conditions
- Unsanitary habits
- Overgrown buildings/areas being retaken by nature
- Survival being prioritized(This may mean a character leaves someone behind in order for them to live but may cause the other left behind to get caught/die alone)
- Death and sickness/disease
- AI that has control over people
- Mass poverty
- Anarchism
