Chapter Text
“Roach?” Ghost whispered as he walked into the younger man’s room.
Roach had been in his room just about all day, which is quite unusual for him. Ghost found that he could be quite social when around people. Mainly ghost and könig. So him hiding away was pretty out of the ordinary.
Roachs head peak out from under the covers as he looked over at the masked man standing by his door way, he looked like a confused puppy. König often compared him to a golden retriever puppy. Gary loved it.
A ‘hm?’ Like sound came from roachs lips as he slightly tilted his head. “Where’ve you been all day, sergeant?” Ghost asked as he walked over and sat on the edge of the man’s bed and made contact with him.
He brought his hands out from under the covers ‘I feel gross again’ roach signed as he sat up. Ghost scooted closer to him and gave a clearly confused face. “Gross? Why is that, hm?” Ghost questioned once again, excepting a shake of the head of maybe just silence instead of a true response from his partner but was suprised when he saw roach move his hands up again to sign something quickly.
‘scars, the burns.’
Ah. Those again.
Roach was quite insecure about his burns from shepherds betrayal. He thought they showed his weakness, gullibility. They though they made him pathetic.
Ghost never thought that, since he had similar burns though he thought they were fine. Yes, he hated where they came from and what they possibly Symbolized if you knew the story behind the odd scarrings. Soap told him he thought they were badass.
Ghosts weren’t as noticeable as roaches were though.
His were on his upper thigh and on his hip. Easily covered by simple clothing.
Roach on the other hand. His left side was covered. His thigh, lower arm and hip/stomach were covered in the horrid scares.
König was shooken the first time he had seen the scares, he trusted him enough. Roach had thought könig would judge him for the horrific marks on his skin but instead his left a soft kiss on the burn on his shoulder and reassured him that he thought they were beautiful marks.
He even showed him a few burns he had himself. Though königs weren’t as severe as his partners they were still somewhat noticeable. Most of them were just from him slipping up while handling fire or hot food or water on a stove.
“Oh bug,” roach was slightly taken aback by the nickname as it’s something only soap and gaz usually call him. “You’re not gross, love, your burns are beautiful, yea?” Ghost attempted to reassure. He’s not great with words. Or comfort in general.
Roach moved over and hesitantly reached for ghosts hand and held it close to his chest. “Do you still think I’m beautiful, si?” Roach spoke, he spoke for the first time in awhile.
Ghost pulled roach closer to him, removing his hand from his chest and embracing him in a close hug.
“Of course I do, Gary.”

Ghost was awoken by a knock at his door, he had returned to his room after his moment with roach.
Ghost rolled over and pretended not to here to knock.
He groaned as he heard the knock once again, he groaned and got out of bed. He slipped into a hoodie before answering the door. Jesus it was freezing.
He grabbed the door handle and pulled the door opening.
“König?” Ghost said as he looked up, not so suprised to see the giant Austrian as he often visited him at night. Usually asking to sleep with him after nightmares.
He finds it funny as roach does the same thing, kinda like kids do to their parents.
He’s sure König used to do it price aswell. I mean he accidentally calls him dad every once and awhile. He must’ve picked it up from gaz, right?
“Ah, sorry lieutenant. Just wanted to know if you’ve seen bug today.” Panic was clear in königs voice.
“Yes, I talked to him. He’s having what I believe he calls an emotion day.” Ghost says with a nod.
König is fiddling with the edge of his hood, something he does often. He told ghost ‘if helps him calm his nerves’. Ghost found it cute.
König often looked like a sad puppy, especially when he wasn’t able to see or be around either of his partners. He had oddly sad eyes, though ghost couldn’t explain why they seemed so sad.
There’s just something about them.
“Oh, I see.” König reply’s and gets ready to turn on his heal and walk back to his room for the night.
Ghost reached for his arm and tapped on it before he walked away.
He opened his door even further and took a step back, basically inviting König into his room.
Königs eyes light up as he turned around and walked into the room.
Ghost smiled, though he couldn’t see it as he still had his mask on and he was facing his bed.
Ghost turned on his heel after closing his bedroom door when könig entered his room and walked to his bed.
Ghost sat down and stared at könig as the taller man just stood there rocking side to side on his feet as he has a habit of not being able to stay still, another reason price informed him of that he couldn’t be a sniper.
“Kö, you can sit down if you want to.” Ghost informed as he pat the the part of the bed beside him as he readjusted himself into a half sitting half lying position.
König for whatever reason was still anxious to do things around ghost, afraid of messing up. He was like this with roach aswell.
What could he be so afraid of? He was so over gentle with them as if they were a piece of melting glass and would shatter at any small contact. Was he afraid of hurting them for whatever reason? I mean könig isn’t violent in any way with them, there’s no way he could purposely hurt them outside of sparring and combat that is.
König looked over at ghost and thought for a moment before sitting on the bed, beside ghost. He was pulled as close as possible to Simon.
“Mind playing teddy bear tonight, big guy?” Ghost chuckled as he pulled könig down to a laying position and rested his hand on his chest near his heart.
“Mmn” is all König could sleepily get from between his lips before he melted into the small gentle touch’s of ghost.
Ghost smiled and listened to the Austrians heartbeat.
Thump.
Thump.
Thump.
His listening was interrupted by the sound of königs soft snoring.
God he was so easy to put to sleep, just a little attention and he was out like a light. Roach thinks it’s adorable. Ghost agrees.
He’s like a bear, he practically hibernates if you don’t wake him in the morning. He could sleep for weeks at a time if you let him!
“Goodnight, Kö.” Ghost smiles as he gently kisses the knuckles of königs hand which he had rest on his chest, near ghosts face.
Ghost never did the whole physical affection thing.
Until roach and könig taught him how to. It took awhile but he figured out how to comfort in atleast a physical way.
Though his physical touch might be limited, he’s always down for a bit of cuddling especially when it means he can sleep on his big teddy bear. Their big teddy bear.
König is not only ghosts bear but also roach. And he loves it.
