Work Text:

Sunday mornings were quiet. There were birds chirping outside, but the sounds from people rushing to work were minimal, giving a sense of calmness. The sun hadn’t risen yet, so the sky was still a little dark. Lu Ying had wanted to sleep in a little, but the hardness poking him from behind told him that Xiao Kun had something else planned.

“It’s already morning,” Lu Ying protested, though he knew nothing would stop his long time life partner when he was already in the mood.

“Mhmm, I saw the clock, but what’s the problem?”

“I need to wake up and make breakfast in a while,” Lu Ying said. Although when Xiao Kun moved him onto hands and knees on the bed, Lu Ying did so eagerly.

Xiao Kun grunted in response. “Skip breakfast. I’ll help you with brunch.”

Their bodies moved in tandem in a slow rhythm. The temperature rose and their skin started slicking up with sweat as they were partially covered with the duvet. Lu Ying tried to keep his voice down by moaning into the pillow, but some sweet whines still escaped. Xiao Kun held his waist firmly as he thrusted forward, each time deeper than the ones before. The motion looked rough especially with Xiao Kun’s massive size compared to Lu Ying.

The mattress bounced a little.

“What are you doing?” A child’s voice interrupted the lover’s moans.

Xiao Kun felt like his whole body was dumped with ice cold water. His motions stopped instantly and the thing between his legs softened a little. Lu Ying on the other hand buried his head under the pillow, unwilling to let his lewd face be seen.

“Father, are you murdering baba?!” Xiao Shan, the couple’s adopted son, asked alarmingly. He raised his hand to beat his father, thinking he needed to save Lu Ying.

Using his good reflexes, Xiao Kun blocked Xiao Shan’s hits while keeping the duvet covering his and Lu Ying’s joined bodies. “There’s no such thing! We’re exercising!” Xiao Kun defended himself. “How many times have I told you to knock before coming into our bedroom?!”

“I knocked but no one answered. Then I heard sounds like you two were in pain so I came in to check.” Xiao Shan huffed. “You guys are doing exercises without me again. Let me join!”

“NO!” Xiao Kun and Lu Ying both shouted.

“Why not?” Xiao Shan pouted.

“This is an adults-only exercise. Yes, it’s too…harmful for children. Why don’t you go watch the TV while we finish up here?”

Xiao Shan looked at his father suspiciously. Because of his past history, the boy had abandonment issues and sometimes took things to heart when he was being left out.

“I promise we won’t be long. Your baba and I will be out soon to make breakfast. Now go.” Xiao Kun assured him.

Xiao Shan finally relented and jumped off the bed. He walked backwards so that he could keep his eyes on his parents. Xiao Kun remained in his position but his eyes followed the young boy until he reached the bedroom door.

“Close the door on your way out!” Xiao Kun reminded him.

Xiao Shan grabbed the knob and pulled the door close. Only after the sounds of his footsteps disappeared that Xiao Kun exhaled the breath that he was holding. Lu Ying finally removed the pillow from covering his head.

Thanks to Xiao Shan, Xiao Kun’s equipment had turned flaccid and slipped out of Lu Ying. Lu Ying turned around and lay on his back, facing Xiao Kun who was utterly disappointed.

“Need help getting it back up?” Lu Ying offered.

Xiao Kun didn’t know whether he should laugh or cry. On one hand, he wanted to take Lu Ying up on the offer, but on the other hand, if they don’t show up in the next five minutes, Xiao Shan would definitely break down the bedroom door.

“I’ll take a rain check, please.” Xiao Kun rolled on the bed next to Lu Ying and spread-eagled. He seemed to be thinking deeply. “If this is what all parents experience, I don’t know why people want to have more than one kid.”

Lu Ying turned to Xiao Kun and pecked his lips. “You say that but you love that boy to bits. That thing of yours just needs to be a little more patient and remind you to check the door before starting anything next time.”

“How should I know he would be up this early?!”

Lu Ying put his clothes back on and made his way to the door, but paused to say, “Who was it again that woke him up at the break of dawn when he first started walking so he could teach him martial arts?” Lu Ying gave his husband a side eye, leaving Xiao Kun groaning on the bed.

“I’m an idiot!”

The house was serene when Xiao Kun came home from work. He took a deep breath and could smell something good coming from the kitchen. If he listened closely, he could hear a soft humming from the same direction, indicating that Lu Ying was actively preparing their dinner.

“I’m home,” Xiao Kun announced his presence.

He hung his jacket, stowed away his work case and loosened his necktie. Lu Ying peeked from the kitchen and smiled, replying, “You’re back! Dinner will be ready soon.”

Xiao Kun, with his tall and big stature, strode into the kitchen wanting a proper welcome from him. He wrapped his arms around Lu Ying’s waist and kissed the back of his head. Lu Ying continued to stir the food in the pot.

“How was your day?” Xiao Kun asked after Lu Ying turned off the stove and turned in his arms.

Lu Ying reached out to touch Xiao Kun’s handsome face. He could feel the rasp of stubble forming on his cheek after a long day, even though Xiao Kun had shaved it clean that morning.

“It was fine,” Lu Ying replied in his gentle voice. “Xiao Shan was happy he got to see Chen Xing today.”

“Sorry I missed the appointment again. What did the good doctor say about our boy?”

“It’s time.”

Xiao Kun sighed. “It’s not that I don’t want to send him to school… But Xiao Shan had been homeschooled for so long, I don’t want him to end up bullied.”

“Chen Xing said there’s nothing wrong with his speech development, it’s just that he needs to talk more with children around his age and sending him to school is the best solution.”

When the couple adopted Xiao Shan, the boy was severely traumatized and he couldn’t speak. At first, they thought Xiao Shan was mute, but the boy could mimic sounds without problem. They then took him to a family friend who is a doctor - Chen Xing - who managed to help him develop his speech. But because of his childhood trauma, Xiao Kun and Lu Ying had kept him homeschooled. He had little to almost no interaction with children his age, so it caused some concerns to Xiao Kun.

“That little boy is too attached to you. Won’t he have separation anxiety?”

Lu Ying smiled and moved his arms to wrap around Xiao Kun’s neck. “Sounds to me like you’re the one with separation anxiety.”

“I’m away at work during the day. By the time I come home, I get to see him. You on the other hand…”

“Well, maybe you want to consider coming home for lunch now that our son will be at school.” Lu Ying stood on his tiptoes so their faces could move closer. “That way, no one would jump on the bed when you’re “in too deep”.”

Xiao Kun recalled the interrupted sessions with Lu Ying, and had to agree that Xiao Shan needed to develop other cognitive skills as well.

“Sometimes I forget that I married a wise person.” Xiao Kun remarked and leaned in to kiss Lu Ying.

Just as their lips were about to touch, something smacked into one of his asscheeks, making Xiao Kun jump.

“Are you hurting baba again?”

A short distance away, Xiao Shan stood defensively with his arms crossed to his chest. His hand was holding what looked like a plastic bow.

Xiao Kun pulled out the plastic arrow stuck to his butt. “Xiao Shan, dad would never hurt your baba, but dad would certainly hurt the person who gave you this bow and arrow set.”

“Xiang Shu gege gave it to me. Give it back!”

Xiao Kun walked towards Xiao Shan and knelt in front of him so they would be at eye level. He handed Xiao Shan the plastic arrow and patted his head. “Play it as much as you like at home. But you can’t bring it to school.”

“I’m going to school?”

Xiao Kun grinned. “Oh yes. You’re definitely going to school.”

Feng Qianjun swore he wasn’t meant to be a teacher, but somehow his career path took him there and here he was, watching over elementary school kids. His wife had been wanting to have children, but after spending five days a week with the little freaks, Feng Qianjun decided that unless he had unlocked a personal achievement in the patience department, his household could wait a little longer to grow. Raising children is really a big challenge.

Especially one such as Xiao Shan.

It was only his second day at school and his parents were called to the principal’s office.

“Principal Xie, student Xiao Shan’s parents are here.” He informed the scholarly principal about the arrival of Xiao Kun and Lu Ying.

The two men, one small and lean and one tall and big, entered the office with concerned looks on their faces.

“Please have a seat, sirs.” Principal Xie stood up and welcomed them warmly.

Xiao Kun pulled the chair for Lu Ying before sitting down himself. Lu Ying had called him an hour ago, telling him that the school had phoned to ask them to meet with the principal over something Xiao Shan did. Xiao Kun left work to his subordinate and quickly drove home to pick up Lu Ying so they could go to Xiao Shan’s school together. The school withholding further information from them until their meeting was something that made them nervous.

“Did Xiao Shan hit someone?” Xiao Kun asked immediately.

“No,” replied principal Xie.

Both parents sighed in relief.

“Was he hurt?” Lu Ying asked next.

“No, no. Your son is safe and well. He’s in the classroom right now.”

Xiao Kun and Lu Ying exchanged questioning glances.

“Then why are we called? Is there some kind of problem with his registration?”

Xiao Kun recalled all the procedures they had gone through to enroll Xiao Shan into the school. They had carefully read the registration guide from cover to cover, so there was no way there would be any errors.

Principal Xie shook his head slowly.

Xiao Kun was getting impatient, but Lu Ying held his hand and asked calmly instead. “Then, what is it?”

Principal Xie cleared his throat. He signaled to Feng Qianjun, so he could share the details of the incident instead.

“During lunch break, one of student Xiao Shan’s classmates asked him why he entered the school late. Student Xiao Shan told him that he was supposed to be homeschooled, but recently, he caught his father murdering his baba, so that was the reason why he was sent to school.”

Xiao Kun and Lu Ying suddenly felt a little embarrassed to face the teacher and principal.

“I already said that I wasn’t murdering his baba,” Xiao Kun mumbled.

“Anyway,” Feng Qianjun continued. “Other students who heard were either shocked or started calling him a liar because he saw you two drop him off on his first day. Student Xiao Shan was quite defensive, but we managed to deescalate the situation for now. Although, he insisted that he had caught his father “murdering his baba” a few times.”

“Young people are really passionate,” Principal Xie sighed, but quickly cleared his throat when he realized he had spoken out loud in front of the couple. “We’ll overlook this incident as just kids saying silly things, but please come up with a better explanation to your child.”

“We will consider your advice, principal Xie. Our apologies for Xiao Shan’s behavior today,” said Lu Ying.

He nodded to Xiao Kun and they excused themselves.

Thanks to the incident, all activities that might lead to anything hot and steamy were forbidden in the Xiao-Lu household. Even behind locked doors, Lu Ying was too anxious about Xiao Shan walking in. Sometimes they wondered if the boy could walk through doors.

This, of course, left both healthy males who were at the prime of their lives, frustrated. The side effects were most obvious on Xiao Kun, who hadn’t been able to touch Lu Ying for almost two weeks.

Chen Xing took notice of the situation when the parents took Xiao Shan for his monthly appointment.

“Looks like Xiao Shan going to school has been a challenge to you two?” He asked Lu Ying while Xiao Shan was with a nurse.

Lu Ying didn’t know whether he wanted to laugh or cry. While the lack of intimacy was giving his body a little mercy from heavy bedroom workouts, he did miss a deeper connection with his partner. Xiao Kun was also more cranky with all the pent up desires. Lu Ying disclosed the situation to Chen Xing and the doctor thought deeply.

“I might have a temporary solution,” said Chen Xing, although a little hesitant.

Truthfully, his life partner, Xiang Shu had been relentlessly horny. Chen Xing had a hard time turning him down sometimes, and as a busy professional, he needed all the rest he could get.

Xiao Kun responded with “Let’s hear it.”

“Xiang Shu and I can take him for the weekend. We both have the day off, so it should be fine.”

Lu Ying looked at Xiao Kun who appeared to be hopeful before replying. “We appreciate it very much, but are you sure Xiang Shu would be fine with it?”

Xiang Shu would definitely feel annoyed at first, but for some reason he took pride in teaching Xiao Shan many survival skills such as hunting and sports. Although Chen Xing is Xiao Shan’s godfather, it was Xiang Shu who looked like he and Xiao Shan were related, as the two of them were of mixed race. So taking care of the kid for the weekend wouldn’t be so bad.

Xiao Kun gratefully accepted.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Before the weekend was over, Xiao Kun had shown Lu Ying no mercy after the two-week long abstinence. All his crankiness went away as they cuddled in bed, post-coital. He had one thick thigh over Lu Ying slim hips, trapping the other man in his embrace.

“We owe Chen Xing and Xiang Shu a huge favor,” Lu Ying murmured. HIs body was all loose and pliant.

“En.”

“I hope Xiao Shan won’t give them any trouble.”

“En.”

“Do you think–”

Xiao Kun put a finger on Lu Ying’s lips, stopping him mid sentence. “I don’t think talking about other people and our kid right now is appropriate. I’m trying to recover here so we can go another round.”

“Again?!” Lu Ying jumped when he was poked with a semi-hard object.

“What do you think? We couldn’t do it for over two weeks!”

“B-but…”

Lu Ying wanted it as well, but thinking how wrecked his body was from the earlier sessions, they might need to take it slow a little. Xiao Kun didn’t take long to fully recover. Just when Lu Ying was about to beg for mercy, the phone rang.

“Ignore it,” said Xiao Kun.

Thinking this could buy him some time, Lu Ying said, “It could be urgent.”

Xiao Kun sighed and reached for the phone on the nightstand. He saw Xiang Shu’s name on the screen and frowned.

“Come get your kid.” The voice on the other end told him. Xiang Shu sounded utterly irritated.

“It’s not even noon yet.”

Xiang Shu tsked. “You better get your asses here and deal with him,” he said and hung up.

The phone call killed the mood, so Xiao Kun told Lu Ying to get dressed. It was unfortunate, but Lu Ying was a bit thankful for the distraction. However he couldn’t help but worry about what had taken place in the Xiang-Chen household. The phone call ended abruptly, so he didn’t get a chance to ask what had happened. Since Xiang Shu didn’t say much, he could only deduce that at least Xiao Shan wasn’t hurt.

It all took a one-eighty turn when they arrived there. There were a couple of police cars parked outside of the Xiang-Chen residence. Alarmed, Xiao Kun and Lu Ying rushed inside. Since they were close to the other couple, they didn’t stand on ceremony with each other.

When they got to the living room, There were two policemen sitting on the sofa and two more standing while facing Xiang Shu and Chen Xing opposite them. Xiao Shan was sitting in between of the couple, pouting.

“So these are the parents?” One of the policemen inquired. His nametag said “Sima Wei”.

“Did something happen?” Lu Ying asked worriedly. Chen Xing was looking everywhere but at him or any of the policemen. Xiang Shu looked like he was about to kill someone.

Another policeman surnamed Zhou turned towards them. “A neighbor of Mr. Xiang and Mr. Chen saw your son playing alone in the yard. When he was asked why he was by himself, he replied with, “Xiang Shu gege is murdering Chen Xing in the bedroom, so I came out here to play”.”

“The neighbor called the police and they broke down the door.”

Xiang Shu glared at Xiao Kun. “You owe us a new door for the bedroom.”

In the end, both couples were sat down by the police and got an earful of advice. Xiao Shan and Lu Ying apologized profusely to the officers for not properly educating Xiao Shan and leading it to such an incident.

After the police left, Xiao Kun and Lu Ying apologized again to Xiang Shu and Cheng Xin. Since they were close friends, Chen Xing didn’t take it to heart. Xiang Shu still looked sour, so the doctor nudged his ribs with his elbow. Only then did Xiang Shu let the matter go.

As they walked to the car with Xiao Shan in tow, the kid pulled on Lu Ying’s shirt and asked;

“Baba, why do married people murder their partners in bed? Do I need to murder them when I have a partner in the future too?”

Thankfully, there was no one else around.

The end

Notes:

I'm so sorry for delaying everyone! Initially I wanted to write for TBFYL (again!) but couldn't think of a good plot. So I decided it's time to read Dinghai and although it was only 138-ish chapters, it took me almost a month to finish it. I hope I managed to put together a good enough story for this request. Hope everyone will enjoy it. Sorry if there's anything lacking and thank you for letting me be a part of this.
