It Started With Coffee

Summary:

What would have happened if Lucifer HAD stayed for coffee that night? What started as a Lucitober 2022 prompt has become a full blown story at the request of a few (you know who you are). It starts mid-S3 and delves into S4. What happens if their secret affair turns into a secret pregnancy?

Notes:

Greetings, all!

Well, I was needled into expanding a couple of my Lucitober prompts, and this is one. If this first chapter sounds familiar, it's very close to the Lucitober story with a few tweaks to fit into the overall story. I'm nearly done with the story, and I hope you guys will enjoy it. For now, let's start out properly - with some good Deckerstar fluff. Enjoy!

Chapter 1

Chloe woke slowly, groaning as the morning light pierced through her eyelids and the sound blared in her ears. She was warm and comfortable and didn’t want to move, but the morning alarm was relentless. She fumbled for her phone and finally hit the button to stop it from sounding.

“Hello? Hello? Decker?” she heard a voice faintly. Only then did her brain register that it wasn’t the alarm going off, but the ringer.

“Hmm…yeah, Decker,” she mumbled into the phone.

“Hey, girl, sorry to wake you. We caught another body off Phoenix. Second one in three weeks,” Ella’s voice said with a tinge of excitement in her voice. Way too much excitement this early, Chloe thought.

“Another one?” Chloe asked, trying to wake enough to process what Ella was saying.

“Yeah, LT thinks we have a serial killer in the neighborhood,” Ella said.

“Great,” Chloe said bitterly. Another lunatic on the loose, right after they’d just arrested one the night before. “Send me the address.”

“Nope, LT wants you in the office,” Ella said. “You may have to go undercover.”

“What?” she asked, sitting up slightly and feeling the bed move behind her.

“Yeah, he says he might go undercover with you,” Ella said in a suggestive tone. “This could be your chance, Decker.”

“Or, I could go undercover with my actual partner,” Chloe said.

“Come on, Decker,” Ella said. “This could be your chance to get with the hot new lieutenant.”

“Ella, we work at a police precinct, not Top Meet,” Chloe scolded. “I couldn’t care less about…that,” she said cautiously. “What I care about is someone who is murdering people, and we need to work quickly. I do my best work with my partner.”

“Well, you better tell LT that,” Ella said.

“Don’t worry, I will,” Chloe said. She took a deep breath as she felt warm lips kissing a trail up her back and shoulder. “I have to go. I have to get ready for work. I’ll be in soon.” Chloe hung up the phone.

“So,” Lucifer said, kissing the top of her shoulder, “Pierce thinks he’s going undercover with you.” Chloe sighed. “As a suburban couple, I assume?”

“How did you know?” Chloe asked.

“I heard the whole conversation,” Lucifer said. “Celestial hearing.” Chloe rolled her eyes at his crazy angel talk.

“Lucifer, it’s just work,” Chloe said, turning in the bed to face her new lover. “It’s nothing.”

“Oh, believe me, with Pierce, it’s something,” Lucifer said. He began to trace her lips with his index finger, and her body came alive with the memory of what those fingers did to her last night.

“Lucifer, we have a job to do,” Chloe said as he leaned in for a brief kiss. “I know…our relationship has…changed…” she said between kisses, “but we can’t…let it interfere…in our…” she pulled him close for a passionate kiss, gripping his hair as their tongues danced against each other. She was breathless as they broke apart. “…work.”

“Rest assured, Detective,” Lucifer said, pulling her closer. “I will be on my best behavior in the office.” Chloe snorted.

“I don’t know if that’s assuring or not. Your best behavior isn’t always the best, you Devil,” she teased.

“Fair point,” Lucifer grinned as he moved to kiss her neck. Chloe tried to suppress a moan as his lips lit her on fire. She giggled.

“I wonder how the bachelorette party turned out,” she said. Lucifer pulled back and looked at her, puzzled.

“What bachelorette party?” he asked. Chloe grinned.

“The one you decided to skip last night so you could stay and have coffee with me,” she said, running her finger down his chest. Lucifer smiled.

“I’m sure Patrick kept everything under control,” Lucifer said. “As opposed to us after that goodnight kiss.”

“You mean the one that turned into you carrying me upstairs with your tongue in my mouth?” Chloe asked wickedly.

“One of the many places my tongue explored on you last night,” Lucifer responded. “Speaking of…”

“Lucifer, no,” Chloe said, placing her hand on his chest to halt him. “We’ve been called in. We have to go to work.”

“You can’t be serious,” he said.

“I am,” Chloe said. “And for now, it might be good if we kept the current status of our relationship to ourselves. I’m not sure how Pierce is going to react to me sleeping with my partner. And don’t tell Ella, or it will be all over the precinct before lunch.”

“Who cares how Pierce reacts?” Lucifer said, running his hand down her side to her hip.

“Lucifer, he’s our boss. He could split us up if he thinks there’s a conflict of interest or that our work will suffer,” Chloe said.

“Yet he has no trouble trying to sleep with you himself,” Lucifer said. Chloe opened her mouth to protest, then thought better of it.

“Lucifer, I have to convince him to let us go undercover together. If he thinks we’re sleeping together, he’ll use it as an excuse,” she reasoned. “I don’t want him splitting us up, especially today. Unless you want him to find an excuse to work undercover with me.”

“Trust me, he won’t even try it,” Lucifer said. “But you’re right, and I’m afraid you’re right about Ella. She’s a dear, but she is quite the talker.”

“Yeah,” Chloe said. “So for now, this is just between us?” Lucifer grinned.

“Right now, there isn’t anything between us,” he said, pulling her closer. Chloe giggled.

“Lucifer,” she scolded.

“Very well, we’ll keep it between us,” he said. “Let’s seal your deal with the Devil.” He kissed her soundly.

“We have to get up. I need a shower,” she said, panting as they broke the kiss.

“We’ll shower together shortly, after I get you good and dirty again,” Lucifer said. He moved to kiss her neck again.

“Lucifer, we have to go to work,” Chloe said weakly.

“We are,” Lucifer said. He pulled back and grinned. “We’re going undercover.” He grabbed the covers and pulled them over their heads as Chloe giggled.
