Chapter Text

"I'm sorry, Takemichi," Sanzu says, sounding remorseful. Takemichi plays with his hands and shifts his feet back and forth. Watching from the corner of his eyes, Sanzu enters the living room. Sanzu glances at Chifuyu, sitting on the couch watching the interaction and waiting for a single before moving.

"Takemichi, please look at me," Sanzu pleaded. After hesitation, Takemichi, calmer and more composed, glances up at Sanzu, standing at the far end of the room. Finally, looking at his Alpha, who stands with a slight frown, he attempts to smile.

"I love you, Sanzu" Takemichi's voice is soft, his eyes like glass reflecting light. Takemichi pauses as his chest begins to heave loudly.

Takemichi stares at Sanzu as the emotions from that night pull on his heartstrings. The last heat Takemichi shared with Sanzu was the first time Sanzu's heart stopped. Takemichi can remember how he leaned over his body, watching Sanzu's eyes roll back. Takemichi Omega had to take over and do everything possible to keep the Alpha awake while screaming for help. Luckily Chifuyu decided to check in on the pair and was able to help rush Sanzu to the hospital.

Sanzu's drug use for the last few years stopped the alpha heart. The doctors required that Sanzu stop participating in any heats and pack heats to focus on healing.

While he was away, I was required to attend my medical meeting since my omega had difficulty returning complete control to me again. Since the three months of medical treatment, reintroducing Sanzu into my life without my omega leading has left me empty.

My omega dealt with being upset at the thought of possibly losing our Alpha but also angry with his lack of care. He knew how much we disliked self-medication, but he continued. At one point in the treatment, my doctor informed me about how my omega had started to let go of Sanzu. No longer did I view him as my Alpha but as a pack.

"I'll make some tea" Chifuyu stands up walking into the kitchen to give a little privacy. Sanzu shifts a little closer, keeping his distance. I glimpse myself in the glace on the table and see how my eyes have lost color with the heavy eye bags, my lips dry, and so much more.

"I have meetings three times a week. Mikey and my brother found someone to sponsor me during this time. His name is Yasuhiro Muto." Sanzu moves his hand over his coat pocket to pull out a white chip and place it on the table with a card.

"Takemichi, I know this will take some time before you feel comfortable to come home again. I want to show you I'm working hard to prove that we can rebuild our relationship to be something better than it was".Sanzu begins to cry, pulling at his hair in frustration as he watches me waiting for something.

"I'm not sure we can go back, Sanzu," Takemichi says softly, tears falling down his eyes. Sanzu takes a few moments to gather and put on a more determined face.

"I hope you'll change your mind about coming home, but if not, I understand," Sanzu winces as a tear slowly slides down his eye from the cold metal feeling from his heart. Sanzu turns to leave. All Takemichi can do is watch him go.
