Steve meets her at a museum. Bernie is beautiful and smart and so incredible. Steve’s crush is instant. Luckily, she seems to be feeling the same.
They walk around the museum together, chatting about art and about their lives. Steve is pretty sure Bernie knows he's Captain America but she isn't fangirling about it and he really appreciates that. It makes him feel human for once.
They exchange phone numbers in the gift shop, on postcards they just bought.
Bernie calls him immediately after they both get home to arrange a date. Of course Steve says yes. Bernie is special.
