Work Text:

"I just want to have a boyfriend," Nueng tells Palm, his face open and happy.

Palm's heart races. It always beats a little faster when he's around Nueng, like he's running a marathon. But now, he feels like he's getting ready for a 100-meter dash.

"I want to have someone to hug, to care and to love," he continues, inching closer to Palm.

Wearing half a smile, an unintentional by-product of being close to Nueng, Palm corrals his unruly heart before it gets away from him. He looks away from Nueng and draws from his well of sincerity to say, "I told you that you would find that person one day."

Palm tosses Nueng a small grin and follows Nueng's movements until his young master is pressed shoulder to shoulder against him. Palm basks in the warmth of Nueng's closeness, from the length of his arm to the thigh resting on his own.

Nueng is a fascinating contradiction that Palm is eager to study. He's confident and nervous at the same time. He's both worldly and naive in some ways. He's prickly and clingy at other times.

It's no wonder Palms eyes are hopelessly drawn to Nueng, above and beyond the requirements of his job.

"What if I don't want to wait anymore?" Nueng asks, his gaze boring unto Palm.

It feels to Palm that Nueng is building a bridge between them, strong and sturdy.

"I want to have him right now," Nueng says. In his eyes, there's an invitation to cross that bridge and meet him halfway.

Palm's heart starts getting rowdy again.

While he stays unmoving against the headboard, his gaze flits nervously from Nueng's eyes and lips trying to gauge the integrity of his words.

It's not that he thinks Nueng's lying but it's more like Palm doesn't want to make the wrong assumptions.

"What do you want?" Palm asks. In not so many words, he's reaching inside his chest and offering his heart up to Nueng.

"Since I became a new person after coming to this island, I want to try to do new things. For example, dating."

The heart in his hand is beating wildly.

"Can you be my boyfriend?" Nueng asks.

The question hangs in the air between them, fragile and resolute at the same time. In the silence that blankets them, Palm thinks that Nueng is simply amazing. He loves how Nueng is always so direct and unafraid to articulate what he wants. For that, Palm is grateful.

But there's a more important question that needs to be answered.

"Are you serious?" Palm asks because his heart is about to burst.

"Yes, I am," Nueng confirms in all seriousness. "I'm not joking about it."

"While we are living on this island, can you be my boyfriend?" Nueng asks Palm for the second time.

Palm's face dims a little. He understands clearly now that there's a heartbreak waiting for him in the future. But despite that impending downfall, he can't bring himself to sacrifice the temporary happiness being offered right before his eyes.

Besides, his heart has already fallen to the ground and has burrowed itself into Nueng's embrace. It's too late now. The chances of recovery is zero.

"What do I need to do?" Palm asks softly.

"Can you kiss me again? You said the last time you kissed me was because you wanted to comfort me. This time, I want you to do it from your true feelings," Nueng says unequivocally.

Palm stares and realizes that he must really love this brave and beautiful boy. What else could be the reason for the insanity of willingly jumping off a cliff without a rope or a parachute? Knowing full well that rocks below will break his bones. It is enjoying a brief moment of being free, unchained from social expectations and filial obligations. Just a brief moment to do what the heart wants, to love fully and unconditionally.

Palm leans in and meets Nueng halfway in a kiss infused with their passion, breaking the tension that had wrapped around them. Nueng tastes sweeter this time around, no longer bitter with anger. Palm slowly loosens his tightly wound up hunger, delving his tongue between Nueng's lips inviting him to play. They kiss until they are breathless, Nueng drawing back and looking bedazzled.

"Is this how couples kiss?" Palm teases him lightly, cupping the side of Nueng's warm face.

Nueng's eyes are shining and his expression is radiant. Palm thinks, I put that there. I'm responsible for that. He's smiling widely on the inside as he plunders Nueng's mouth again, feeding on his lips and tongue. Searching, tasting... he can't get enough. He's starving for Nueng and Nueng gave him the green light to unleash his passion.

They fall together on the bed, Nueng's arms around his neck like he can't bear to be parted from Palm. Palm feels the same way, his hands busy touching Nueng, caressing him, loving him.

Their bodies writhe from the spikes of pleasure brought about by their fervent kissing.  When Palm fits himself between Nueng's legs, they both moan at the contact. They pant and stare into each other's eyes, dicks hard and begging for friction. Their inexperience has them sloppily rutting against each other, too shy and too impatient to take their clothes off. But their enthusiasm is boundless and the raging inferno that they create has them both shaking and trembling as they share their very first orgasm together.

Laughter in bed is thought to be a sign of a good relationship. In that case, Nueng and Palm are off to a great start.
