The look on Kohane and Toya’s face should’ve been the red flag that An and Akito should’ve caught. They had traveled to a far, bigger town than what they were used to to preform. After a successful live and dinner they had made their way to a hotel. Usually the four would get a two bedroom room so they could all share. It made it easier to keep track of all members. Believe it or not, keeping track of just four people could be exhausting.
“Huh, the rooms kinda small…you sure we’re all gonna fit?” An questioned. Missing the fact that Kohane was handing a separate key to Toya.
Akito along with Toya inspected the place further, coming to the conclusion if they all had squeezed in they could possibly fit. Once he got to the bedding situation. it had finally registered,
“Huh, there’s only one bed? How are we all gonna —“
His partner was no longer next to him. Instead he was at the door with Kohane giving An a card key for the room looking like she was sentencing An to prison unwillingly. Toya however, looked pleased under his Stoned expression.
“We’re sorry! We tried to get you a two bedroom, but they’re all booked up!”
“W—wait Kohane, Toya!! you don’t mean—“
An could only panic when she put two and two together. stopping the door by standing in the entry way
“Shiraishi, Akito, Kohane and I would like to sleep in peace tonight, so we have put you in a separate room.” Toya announced before they forced it shut on them. Which meant,
An and Akito were sharing a one-bed hotel room.
Just about when Akito got to the door to protest against it, Kohane had beaten him to it, and shut the door with a guilty expression. An and Akito glanced at each other, before forcing open the door again and tracking down the couple to rearrange the sleeping arrangements.
But before they could, the door had be locked shut behind Toya. preventing them from getting in and switching their roommates. After some banging on the door for a minute or two, An and Akito gave up, and went to their room in defeat.
“Damn those two…I bet they got a separate room just to make out…”
“Yeah, yeah,”
When they got to the door, An had been fidgeting nervously with the handle.
“What’s wrong? Did you see a ghost or something?” He was already annoyed, he didn’t need to put up with any other crap today. Slowly, An with an awkward expression on her face turned to him and uttered,
“Where do you want to sleep tonight?”
So that’s how they ended up here, An on the very comfortable looking bed with actual sheets and a comforter, and Akito, on the wooden floor with a lousy excuse of a blanket they had found. The sound of groans along with tossing and turnings had been ongoing ever since.
Despite Akito’s refusal of sleeping on the bed, guilt had still pricked An’s brain when she heard the man curse to himself as the floor creaked from the weight of the clearly tired and annoyed Akito. The bed was definitely enough for two and even with the three sheets piled up on each other, the bed was cold and lonely.
Groaning for the umpteenth time, Akito desperately tried to get comfortable. But each position he tried, hit all of the most uncomfortable pressure points ever imaginable. No way would he get any sleep like this. And the bed was right there. An was right there too. What he’d give to sleep on a proper mattress instead of the cold floor and have An in his ar—-
He almost forgot why he didn’t want to share the bed in the first place.
Akito’s feelings for An were complicated. He definitely didn’t like her. He just wanted her undivided attention for him and only him that’s all! That’s Akito’s words…mind you, if you were to ask anyone else, such as Ena or Toya they’d would say,
“He’s in love with her,”
But the man is in denial, so will absolutely not, in no circumstances be in the same bed as Shiraishi An. Or else, he might wrap his arms around her waist and bring her closer to him, kiss her neck and anywhere else he could find.
He’ll sleep on the floor after all.
“There’s extra room on the bed you know,” hearing An’s uncharacteristically timid voice. Groaning, he got up and plopped himself on the bed. Much to An’s surprise. His brain was practically screaming at him at this point, yet his body ignored all of the flashing red signs that told him to stop.
“Woah! Bold tonight aren’t we?~” An teased despite feeling her body temperature rise.
On the contrary, An’s feelings for Akito, are completely normal feelings that you’d have towards your teammate. A teammate that could possibly land you in the hospital for cardiac arrest in her words. Close friends of An such as Mizuki and Kohane would say,
“She’s in love with him,”
But the women is also in denial, so sharing a bed meant absolutely nothing to An. Things such as wanting to bury her face into his chest, were just because she wanted to get closer to him as a teammate to improve group dynamics, along with the thoughts of wrapping her arms around his neck, and kissing him all over.
Maybe she should kick him out.
Akito didn’t reply though. Instead, pulling up the blankets over his head. An decided that it was also her time to go to bed as well. Closing her eyes, she let herself drift off to sleep.
For about twenty minutes
Her eyes shot open as she felt the cold prick at her skin. The blanket was slowly slipping off her body while Akito slept like a log. One that is heavy, and really annoying. Realizing this, she tugged at the sheets. Waking up and feeling the blanket jerk above Akito. In response, the guy tugged back. The tugging became more aggressive as time went by, eventually ending up in an intense tug-of-war game with each party not wanting to back down.
“Oi An! The hell you thinking?!”
“Share the blanket then, Jackass!”
Another clash between the two of them was normal. In the mist of the fighting it took minutes of struggling and yanking at the poor blanket for An to realize that Akito was practically slipping off the bed while she was asleep. Suddenly softening her grip on the sheet, An instead reached out tugged on his arm.
“An? What the fuck are you doing now!?” The heat to Akito’s face suddenly rose as she went at it. An ignored his comment and was still trying to pull him closer. Despite her efforts, he was simply too heavy and An was extremely sleepy.
“There’s enough space for both of us unless you wanna be on floor by the time you wake up!” She hissed at him before pulling the blanket over her head and lying down.
Taking her words into consideration, Akito inched closer to her on bed. Stopping at the imaginary line and not a centimeter over or else he might go into heart failure.
But An was tired of Akito’s groaning and he would for sure complain in the morning. It was like he’d rather be in pain than get close to her! And their positions would only be uncomfortable.
“Goddamn it Akito! Move closer, quit being so awkward!!”
“Hah?! I’m not awkwar—“
“Scoot in closer then!!”
A suddenly felt someone yank her arm which landed her face in his chest. Two arms pulled her closer by holding her waist in place and Akito and An’s legs became tangled together. To put it simply, An felt her heart do acrobatics in her rib cage and it wasn’t at all funny.
“Close enough for you?” Akito through with gritted teeth. Unfortunately, An couldn’t respond. Not because she was buried in his chest, but because his heart was deafening to the point to where she couldn’t feel her five senses. The man was freaking out about it as much as her!
“Heh…What’s wrong An? Too shy to talk all of a sudd—-“
“Akito if you don’t shut the hell up I’m gonna report you for sexual harassment.”
His mouth clamped shut after she said that. None of them dared to move an inch. After sometime in that position, Akito’s eyes started to grow heavy. Just about when everything faded to black, he felt two arms sneak around his neck and somehow pulled them even closer. The girl pressed up against him was now asleep, he started to fall asleep too. But the last thing felt before blanking out, was something soft on his lips and softly whispering him a goodnight.
He had a pretty good dream after that.
Kohane and Toya lay there in a dark room exhausted, but still very much awake. Not used to the peace and quiet. Normally, there would be no sleep for either of them because of the constant loud snoring sounds, the voices of An and Akito bickering about god knows what at that point, and that the two would be in separate beds forced in the middle of the argument and away from each other.
To say the very least the couple were in heaven. Not only did they discover the privilege of having tranquility, but the fact that they were now closer than ever had been before had also been quite nice.
Kohane also learned that Toya could be very clingy when tired. Not that she mind of course, his arms over her hips would tighten, pulling her closer and he’d nuzzle into her neck almost subconsciously. Kohane silently wished that they had done this earlier.
“Glad we got them a room.” Kohane giggled at Toya’s comment while also agreeing with him. She felt him cuddle her face again. Kohane returned the gesture lovingly as well, the the two of them basking in each other’s warmth.
“I hope they aren’t tearing each other apart..” she couldn’t help but voice out her worries.
“In what way?”
The subject quickly became inappropriate.
“Toya!!”
