ilhoon was on his phone, scrolling on tiktok, when hyunsik randomly came in the living room. “hoonie.” he calls out before plopping down beside ilhoon on the couch.
ilhoon hums in response, not even taking a quick glance to his lover as he scrolls past to another video.
hyunsik just smiles and cuddles close to him. “hoonie~” hyunsik says again in a singsong voice. he’s bored and wants to flirt with his boyfriend but it seems like the other is preoccupied.
“what.” ilhoon says, letting hyunsik lean his head on his shoulder.
“i’m bored.”
at that, ilhoon turns his phone off and puts it aside. “well, what do you wanna do?” he asks his boyfriend. he’s down to do anything whenever it comes to hyunsik and it’s not like he had anything better to do anyway.
hyunsik grins when ilhoon gives his attention to him. “i wanna buy ice cream.”
ilhoon smiles fondly to hyunsik. not even questioning or acknowledging that it’s 11:24pm, he answers, “sure.” with his voice soft.
hyunsik might be bigger than him physically, and can be intimidating when he wants to be but there are moments like this when hyunsik just wants to be spoiled too.
ilhoon treasures these moments. he can see hyunsik acting like a child and it’s an adorable sight to see.
hyunsik cheers before standing up and getting ready to go out. ilhoon chuckles behind him but stands up too nonetheless.
“let’s go get ice cream.” he says to himself.
the two of them are now sitting at a bench in an almost empty park. it is almost midnight so of course there wouldn’t be that many people around. they bought ice cream from a convenience store and hyunsik decided for them to walk around and have a quick date (“a date? really?” ilhoon asks because of how ridiculous that sounded. “yeah. you. me. eating ice cream near midnight. a date.” that’s all hyunsik said and it shut ilhoon up with a blush on his face.)
they still haven’t shared a word since they started eating their ice cream and it’s not so bad at all. ilhoon relishes in the moment as he enjoys the quiet of the night, the taste of the strawberry ice cream in his mouth, the presence of his lover beside him, and the stars glistening in the sky.
it couldn’t be more perfect.
“hey hoonie.” hyunsik starts.
ilhoon looks at him with a raised eyebrow. “yeah?”
hyunsik smiles at him before wiping the side of ilhoon’s face. “you got ice cream here silly.” he says, voice fond towards ilhoon. as it usually is.
ilhoon smiles and says his thanks, blushing.
“do you know how to whistle?” hyunsik asks then.
ilhoon looks back again at hyunsik. “huh?”
hyunsik giggles at that. “do you know how to whistle?”
“of course i do.” ilhoon scoffs at that, it was a random question and it was a weird one too because ilhoon often whistles a random tune and hyunsik himself joins in too. so hyunsik should know the answer to that question. “you should know that already.” ilhoon says his thoughts out loud.
“well, prove it.” hyunsik says, already finishing his ice cream. he looks at ilhoon, his eyes wide and innocent as he waits for his lover to whistle.
ilhoon furrows his eyebrows, finding hyunsik suspicious. “you’re joking.” he says, also finishing his ice cream. hyunsik sees it and grabs the paper cone from ilhoon’s hand.
hyunsik gives ilhoon a smile. “i’m not.” he says. “just prove it.”
ilhoon rolls his eyes. “you’re being silly.”
he hears his lover laugh at that and it makes ilhoon smile too.
“i know. but just do it.” hyunsik says again, not giving up at all.
and when does ilhoon deny hyunsik’s wishes?
“fine.” he finally accepts defeat. he turns to hyunsik and puckers his lips, ready to give the goddamn whistle that hyunsik is close to begging for.
but ilhoon didn’t even have the chance to actually release a whistling sound before hyunsik goes close to ilhoon’s face and steals a kiss.
“i know you know how to do it.” hyunsik says before giving ilhoon another kiss and standing up, laughing as he did so because ilhoon remains seated and his eyes wide in surprise.
after a second or two, ilhoon blushes real hard. “you’re so fucking dumb.” he says to hyunsik before standing up himself. “corny ass person.” he grumbles, but he reaches out to hook arms with hyunsik anyways. “god i love you.” he whispers then.
hyunsik just laughs out loud and pecks ilhoon’s head. “i love you too.”
ilhoon was wrong.
it could be more perfect.
