Chapter Text
It was early morning, a time when no decent human being should be awake and yet here I was at three o seven. The silk sheets were soft against my skin while I lay in a bed that I couldn't even imagine filling up myself. The manor was dead silent, even the house elves were asleep.
I sat in almost complete darkness, the only light coming from a small sliver of the moon. Slipping out of the soft cocoon of safety my bare feet padded against the cold floor. Pulling back the thick heavy forest green curtains I sat in the bay window with the book I had left the previous day.
Opening the thick tome on Soulmates I poured over the pages with wand in hand until the crack of dawn. When the sun broke the horizon I took a few minutes to appreciate the Picasso painting that the sky had become.
Today was the day, my last year of Hogwarts was beginning, it was the beginning of the end. Throwing on a loose tee and a pair of shorts I made my way to the kitchens. The house elves were scurrying about until they saw me. The horde of house elves came barreling towards me taking me to the ground in a group hug.
All the purebloods treated the house elves with respect and dignity. All of the Parkinson's house elves were willingly there. From under the pile of house elves I spoke, " Can you please let me up so I can make a going away breakfast" Instead of just getting up the room filled with loud pops as they apparated
Getting up and brushing myself off I walked over to the island and started cooking. I decided to make mothers favorite, waffles with chocolate chips. Waving my wand around I preset the waffle iron and gathered my ingredients.
Half an hour later a mountain of waffles was made. Putting a warming charm on the waffles I started on the chocolate sauce. Pinning my hair up with my wand I whisked the melted chocolate and added flour.
Plating the sauce and applying a heating charm I spoke, " Rose, can you please come here." With a small pop, the elder house-elf made herself known.
" What can I do for you Miss Pansy," no matter how many times we have asked Rose to just call us by our names she refused.
" Can you put these in the family dining room please?" The small house elf nodded before snapping causing all of the dishes to disappear. " Thank you so much, Rose, can I have a hug for good luck." Rose knew what I was talking about, the last year of Hogwarts.
As soon as I crouched down Rose was in my arms. " Young one," she spoke, " I have a gift for you." I held on for a few seconds longer until Rose snapped, " do you want your gift or not" and apparated out of my arms. Causing a light laugh to escape the both of us.
Rose snapped her fingers and a book landed in my hands. " When I was on my vacation that your family forced me to take after telling me I worked too hard, I met this very kind blonde seer who gifted me this book and told me to give it to you." Looking down at the book it was about earth elementals. " The little seer said it would have something to do with your mate."
With a nod, I looked at Rose. " Thank you" my voice quivered. She gave me a soft smile and ushered me out of the kitchen telling me to get dressed. Running to my room I looked at the time, seven o three, which gave me seventeen minutes if I wanted to beat my parents to the dining room.
Hoping in the shower I speed-washed my hair and body. With a quick-drying spell, I was dry and running to my closet. Putting on a Green crisscross tank top and a knee-length black skirt with A dragon hide trench coat paired with black pumps and dark red lipstick. Walking out to my room I waved my wand and was fully packed and with a flick my truck was at the manor doors.
Having three minutes to get to the family dining room I decided to just apparate. Turning on my heel I was being pushed through a small compressing tube.
The dining room was devoid of people, but the click of heels was audible. My mother opened the door and with a look of pure excitement, she rushed out of the room and returned not a minute later with my father in tow. He looked at the table and a smirk overtook his features. Looking over at me he asked a question.
" Did you make these Pans?"Mother looked over at me when I nodded, and she then went back to drooling over the waffles.
" Edgar sit down come on sit down I want to eat with my baby before she goes off to Hogwarts" Father rolled his eyes and let Mother drag him to the table. He held out her chair and pushed her in before sitting down. Walking over to the table I sat and gave mother a smile.
" I hope you like them, they're your favorite" Her eyes widened before she grabbed four. Despite being a small woman she could outeat a fully grown man. Grabbing her sauce she poured it over the waffles and took a big bite smearing chocolate on her lips causing father to laugh.
" You think I'm funny do you, we will see who's laughing later." Father quickly turned his laugh into a cough before looking very interested in his waffles. Taking a small bite of my waffle I laughed when mother groaned.
" Did you really make these Pans" taking a little bit of pride I spoke, " I did." She nodded before continuing, " these are to die for, you need to teach your father how to cook like this." Father looked up sharply looking affronted.
" Excuse me, I thought it was you who almost burned down the manor." Mother gasped dramatically and fanned herself with her hand.
" Well sorry I'm rubbish at cooking." The rest of breakfast was accompanied by playful bantering.
An hour later I stood by the door with Draco and Blaise. Marvolo was standing by not only my mother and father but Draco's and Blaise's. The three women swarmed us one last time before wishing us tearful goodbyes.
With our shrunken trunks in our pockets Blaise, Draco, and I linked arms before apparating to Kings cross station, more accurately the alcove on the platform.
The small alcove near the platform, which has been the aparation point for our families since platform nine and three-quarters to Hogwarts was a thing. Brushing off imaginary dirt we walked to platform nine and ten and ran through the wall.
Walking with my head held high Blaise, Draco, and I walked to the scarlet steam engine. Walking through Gryffindor territory was never fun. Halfway through we were met with the youngest male weasel.
" Oh look the little death eaters in training must have gotten lost," the red-headed moron stood there with his wand drawn and sneer on his face.
"Oh look a blood traitor with only one brain cell, not very that surprising though is it, Blaise." The weasel's face turned a brilliant shade of red. Moving forward he pinned me against the wall with his wand buried in my neck.
" You know it's not very nice to attack a lady." The weasel just pushed his wand further into my neck before leaning into my ear.
" You'd better be careful Parkinson, you know being the weaker sex," his voice was dark as he thrust his hips into mine, which was the last straw. Slipping my wand from its holster I kicked his shin and reversed our position.
" What is going on here Miss Parkinson?" There stood Severus Snape in all of his billowing robe glory. Draco started to explain while I held a horny redhead against the wall. Severus was keeping a close watch on me while Draco was talking and finally snapped when yet again the redhead thrust against me.
" That's it, Mr. Weasley, you will be riding with me and the teachers and receiving your punishment after the welcome feast." Weaselbee went to argue when Severus grabbed him by the ear and pulled him away robes billowing.
"Eh gross, I'm going to need to bathe in bleach. Yuck." I fake hurled and was met with two very unamused stone-faced boys. " Oh lighten up, he wasn't going to do anything," I spoke rolling my eyes.
"Pans, he shouldn't have done that in the first place, you do realize that counts as sexual harassment right?" Draco spoke gripping my shoulders. " That is a punishable offense."
Patting his cheek I got out of his hold. " My dears I can handle the weasel, there is a reason he didn't bother me after the first month of last year." Both boys glowered. " Come along now my dears the world awaits us," I spoke linking my arms through theirs. Which only Blaise allowed.
"He comes near you again, I kill him," Blaise mumbled to which I sighed
We walked to the end of the train looking for empty compartments with my two seething Slytherins. When we got to the end of the train in the last compartment two small dark-haired figures looked no older than fourth years. When we opened the compartment door neither made a move.
I heard both of the boys gasp as we looked upon a sleeping Harry Potter and Hermione Granger. They both had always been smaller than the rest of our year. With a quick glance at Draco, it was too late to stop him as he slammed the compartment door shut. Both Potter and Granger shot up faster than a bullet.
Granger pushed Potter into the closest corner and sat protectively in front of him. " Well, well, well, what are you Gryffindor's doing in the snake pit," Draco spoke with only a hint of malice, Slytherin never really hated Granger or Potter, just the people who they associate themselves with.
Granger took a breath before speaking, " is it a crime for us to want to get away and get some alone time," there was a small pain thinking about granger and potter together. Taking the look on our faces she quickly flushed, " Harry is like my brother, we just wanted to get away from the noise, who knew Gryffindors could be so loud"
Her movement was jerky, and while Granger had always been clumsy but never to this extent. " so Granger, you're telling me that the people you have spent your entire time at Hogwarts with are suddenly too loud?" I didn't realize I was talking until the words came out of my mouth. Granger nodded.
Blaise had his mouth open as the compartment door opened up and Luna walked with Theo in tow. " Do shut your mouth, Blaise, you'll catch flies" Her airy voice floated around the compartment. The train started rolling along the tracks and I sat kicking my feet onto the windowsill I watched as Luna sat by Granger and started whispering in her ear.
" Sit down this is our compartment after all if anyone is going to leave it will be them," I spoke indicating to the not Slytherin trio. Draco, Blaise, and Theo all sat as Granger moved from in front of Potter.
" Would you mind if we stay, we had an incident on our way here," we all looked at each other and nodded.
" Of course Granger." She looked surprised but didn't say anything instead she started playing with a hair band. Potter lay his head down on her shoulder with closed eyes. There was a snap as the hair band broke. There was a red mark for a second that then disappeared, not in the way it was supposed to fade.
Pointing my wand at Granger I cast a wordless Finite Incantatem. While I knew it wasn't the right thing to do, the three of them were acting weird. The spell hit Granger before she had time to block. Bruises started webbing out from where the spell had hit, her cheeks sunk in and her body bonier, all accompanied by a black eye and a cut on her cheek.
I jabbed my elbow into Draco's ribs, who let out a hiss and looked up at Granger who was slowly looking up and down her arms. " Bloody hell Granger, what the hell happened?!" Draco's voice startled everyone in the compartment including Luna surprisingly.
Granger let out a feeble laugh, " You see I got beat up by some muggle boys just days before we left, couldn't defend myself from a few muggles" That only explained the bruises, not the sunken eyes and hollow cheeks.
" That doesn't explain why you are so sickly," That would be the tactless Theodore. Granger looked around the compartment before glancing out the window, but before she spoke Potter beat her to it.
" We are almost at Hogwarts, we should change into our robes," Potter was quiet but that didn't stop anyone from listening to him. With a flick of our wands, we were all dressed in our Hogwarts robes. " Thank you for letting us sit with you but we must be going now, we wouldn't want the weasels to worry."
Granger smirked at the way Potter spat the word weasels as did we. Both stood granger recasting her glamour in the process. With a long face, she pointed her wand at us and whispered one word, "Oblivate"
