She’s forgotten her name.
She’s forgotten a few more things, too, but the name is disturbing because she knows she has an other half. Her sister.
Her sister who is bright, who is not sick, who is a hero.
She knows she is the only one in her family who isn’t , which is how she got into this whole situation with the Melodiens in the first place.
They offered a chance to fix her. Said they came in peace.
It’s 20XX, so of course people trusted them. Why wouldn’t they? Aliens had become normal, and the evil ones usually came with terrifying ships and a built in hero team to fight against them.
Well, She got an offer. To be one of their Sentai. And she said yes, because of course.
She knows it was stupid, now, but she happens to naturally be stupid. Utterly
useless. But she’s a really good actor. Which means that when the Melodiens made their true intentions clear, it was easy to find a new role.
…mostly.
She’s good at first aid, her dad is a doctor and her mom is a nurse, but they shot her multiple times. She decided when she took the changers of their fake heroes, she needed to become the cool leader.
She has to be quiet, and not scream as she dresses her own wounds.
It’s fine.
She can handle this. She’s…
Oh god, she’s a Sentai Red.
“Red~ I know you’re there~”
…and she needs to run. Silently. On an injured leg.
She’s used to pain. She remembers enough to know her biological father was abusive, on top of an illness. Any more escapes her. She was supposed to be an idea, a prop.
Humans are getting smarter, after all. A fake hero. Helping the Melodiens fight their “enemies”. But they’re just more of the same, and they’re new.
She thinks it’s a bit too complicated.
But her job isn’t to think. Her job is to act. Even now, her job is to pretend she is cool and knowledgeable. She’s not the right kind of airhead.
She runs, and she doesn’t scream. Doesn’t make a single sound.
That always just causes more problems than it’s worth.
And it’s not just her— it’s Earth. It’s the six Changers in the case she’s carrying. Strong enough to cause real damage because the monsters are all death row criminals with a way out if they beat the fake heroes.
…has she mentioned how stupid this whole plan is?
She makes it to the hanger, where a red ship is waiting for her. They probably think she’s too stupid to pretend to be smart.
They probably think she’s too weak to ignore the pain.
It’s a crash landing, but it’s a landing.
The adrenaline fails, then. Her ship is bonded to her, after all. A nice little advantage. She’s not allowed to stop, now.
But she is alone, and she is safe.
It’s hurting more, to walk now. She might need actual medical help. Instead, she finds her new room. Everything is red.
There is a bathroom.
…oh, real bandages. And things to clean the gash in her leg. She should wear pants, the skirt is just too many risks. Too much exposed skin.
She does cry out, now that she’s in private. Stitches with steady hands. Cleaned. Bandaged.
…She collapses into her bed, energy spent.
She has a lot of things to figure out, now. How to stop a “friendly” threat. How to find 5 others to be a team with her. What the Melodiens will do with the three changers she left behind.
All she wants to do is scream. Or pass out.
She does the latter.
