To think of the path that had been laid out for her, as for all women, as if it were the one and only choice; Elizabeth had always railed against her father's plans for her, society's plans, the old-fashioned way of doing things. Still, she never could have imagined this, to see the dawn of a brave new world, where she did not just command her own life, but her own ship, her own crew, her own fleet, and her own destiny. Now, let no man think they might know better than she, for she is the king of the pirates, and master of all she surveyed.
