Peter grunted as two little wolves ran into his legs. He smiled and looked down, met by two little back wolves looking up at him. Chris chuckled as he walked past them, only to get pounced on by Luna.
“I’m sorry, I am trying to teach them manners,” Stiles said, coming down the steps. “Unfortunately, they are surrounded by wolves.”
“It’s alright. At least the kids are affectionate. Hello, Stiles,” Chris said, shifting his hold on Luna.
He reached over, pulling the younger man into a hug. Stiles hummed and hugged him back, tickling Luna before pulling away. He looked much happier as fewer supernatural creatures came into the territory, even more so since the packs were settled nicely. Stiles walks over to hug Peter, grabbing one of the wolves along the way.
“Come on, Derek is wrapping up a call. Little ones, I need my children back instead of wolves.”
Chris wrapped an arm around Peter, watching as Toby changed back. Toby giggled and wrapped himself around Peter’s leg while Stiles suddenly had an arm full of wiggling Max. Stiles shook his head, pressing a kiss to the toddler’s head. When they got inside, they were greeted by Derek.
“Nephew,” Peter said, hugging the other man.
“Uncle Peter, you were just here last night,” Derek said, even as he wrapped his arms around the other man.
“Can’t I get a hug from my favorite nephew? Always with the ulterior motives.”
Derek smiled, shaking his head. They all listened as they heard running footsteps coming down the hall and the stairs. Derek grabbed Toby so he wouldn’t get trampled as Boyd, Erica, and Issac came darting down the stairs.
“Daddy, the puppies are crazy,” Luna whispered, wrapping her arms around Stiles’ leg.
“Yes, they are. But, we love them anyway.”
Shadow chose that moment to press against Stiles’ leg, deciding against joining the pile of puppies on Chris and Peter.

Chris waited until later that night to talk to Derek alone. He had been trying to work up the nerve to speak to the Alpha all day, but he could never find a moment alone to do it. After the children had been tucked into bed and Stiles had stolen Peter, he decided he wasn’t getting a better moment.
“Derek, can I speak to you for a moment?” Chris asked, walking into the kitchen.
“You sure can. Is it pack or business-related?” Derek asked, picking up his mug of tea and turning his complete attention to the older man.
“Pack. I wanted to get your opinion on something. I had to wait until Stiles got Peter out of hearing range.”
Chris reached into his pocket and pulled out a box. Derek hid a smile behind his mug before taking a sip. Chris opened the box, showing Derek the simple tungsten ring in the box. He was proud of what the ring would mean for his future.
“Are you thinking about doing what I think you are?” He asked after a moment.
“I am. I understand werewolf traditions, and I wanted to do this right. Derek Hale, Alpha of the Hale Pack, do I have permission to marry Peter Hale?”
Derek turned, placing his mug on the counter. When he turned back around, he had a bright smile.
“I give you my permission. As both the alpha of the pack and Peter’s nephew. No one makes my uncle happier than you do.”
Chris smiled, closing the box and putting it back in his pocket. Derek pulled him into a hug, scenting him. Chris remembers a time when he would have thought that none of this was normal. He always sent a prayer to Allison, thankful every day that she had shown him that his beliefs were wrong.
“Thank you. I’m sure Peter will let you know when it happens,” Chris said, stepping back from the hug after a moment.
“I’m sure. I can hear Stiles coming back. I have a question about the call I was on when you got here.”
When Stiles and Peter got inside, Derek had paperwork spread across the table. The alpha and Chris were talking about the shipment. Both looked up as the door opened. Stiles smiled softly, probing at the bubble of excitement he could feel inside of his mate. Derek looked up, sending him a bright smile before continuing his conversation.

Nothing made Peter Hale happier than staying in his apartment, alone with his mate. A very close second was being with his pack. He took a sip of the bourbon he had poured for himself, leaning back against the couch with a soft sigh.
“Always so dramatic, Peter,” Chris said from the kitchen.
“Just happy. What culinary delights are you making for us tonight, my darling?”
“Only your favorite. Some steaks, medium for me, rare for you, and roasted vegetables. Did you get me a drink as well, or just yourself?”
Chris appeared in the living room, carrying two plates. He placed them on the table as Peter rose from the couch to join him. Peter smiled and pressed a kiss to the other man’s cheek.
“I did. Sit down, my love, you spent so much time making my favorite dinner.”
The two sat at the table and started eating. They ate in companionable silence, soaking in the quiet and the familiar feeling of love. Peter finished eating and sat back, sipping his bourbon as Chris finished his food.
“Thank you, my love. It was delicious.” He leaned over and pressed a kiss to Chris’ cheek.
“You’re very welcome, darling. I have ulterior motives for this dinner, as you might be aware.”
Peter chuckled, reaching over to intertwine his fingers with Chris’. He could feel nerves coming off of his mate in waves, which was unusual for the hunter.
“I know. I am the master of ulterior motives. Now, tell me what has you in knots, Christopher.”
Chris reached into his pocket, pulling out the ring box. Peter looked at him as he sat it on the table and opened it. He tried to hold himself together, looking at his mate’s face again.
“I had a plan, an elaborate plan. Although I knew you would have loved my original idea, this feels more like us,” Chris said, squeezing Peter’s hand tightly. “Since we were young, I have had this fascination with you. I was afraid of my feelings for you, so much so that I married someone else to try and hide from them. Now, so many years later, I realize that I was meant to follow that path. All of my paths eventually led me to you. So, Peter Sebastion Hale, I was wondering if you would like to marry me.”
Peter let a small smile spread across his face before he leaned forward. He pressed his forehead against Chris’, closing his eyes and breathing him in.
“There is no one else on this planet that I would want to spend the rest of my life with. Of course, I will marry you, Christopher Michael Argent.”
Chris smiled, cupping Peter’s face to pull him into a kiss. When they broke apart a few moments later, Peter reached for the ring. Chris chuckled, releasing him.
“May I?” He asked, taking the ring out of the box.
“Of course, you may. The only man allowed to tie me down.”
Chris chuckled, sliding the ring onto Peter’s finger.
“Now you are mine, wolf,” He whispered, pressing a kiss to the back of Peter’s hand.
“Jokes on you, Christopher. Now, you are mine,” Peter replied, pulling Chris to his feet so he could slot their mouths together again.
