Stary night

Notes:

No one made any Climber/Clarice works yet so here ya go! Might add/create more if this gets kudos.

Work Text:

The dark blue night sky glistened as it plastered all over 'Castle of Nations' and tinted every crevice and corner with a blue tone. The crickets sang a light song as the birds nested down, a peaceful night nonetheless. All the statues and dolls walked around at night, as morning is filled with visitors. Night is the time the preforming attractions can finally take a long lasted and well deserved break of their own, having the free will to talk and interact with others like themself.

Climber, however, was alone. Not crowded with the others, or playing some time wasting game. He was sitting on a roof of a short and stubby building, his usual star-gazing spot. He has his fingers intertwined with his own as his cloth hands rest on his lap, his legs dangling down from the rooftop he sat on. He counted every star as he watched them glisten bright, lighting up the sky with a magical look.

Things like this fascinated him, as he had never had the ability to get any education. Human education, at the least. The only way he was taught things humans did and knew was by Clarice, a human herself. She taught him how to do many unusual things that he pondered.

Braiding her hair was one of his favorite things he learned, though. Something about just sitting there quietly with her, feeling her soft hair slither past his fingers and down his wrists. The silent sounds exuding around them, small chattered rarely spoke back and forth by the two. It all felt so peaceful, so simple yet so divine. Even built without human feeling, Climber felt a burning feeling pit inside him when little things like this accrued.

The cloth man snaps out of a dreamy daze once he hears a loud shuffle behind him, it sends him jumping with a yelp from the sudden noise. He quickly yanks his head around, nearly tearing his neck stitches out by doing so to face the figure that stoof above him. The person bent down, shadows releasing from their face to show that it was simply Clarice.

Climber swiftly changed from having a shocked look to a big ear-to-ear grin plastered on his face, his eyes practically light up with glee noticing who's here with him now. Clarice carefully sits down next to him, slightly smirking as she notices the dorky grin the boy has. She lets out a small entertained chuckle as she tilts her head slightly to the right.

"Someone's excited to see me, hm?" She asked with teasing lingering her words.

"Of course! Why wouldn't I be?" Climber questions, genuine and joking blending into his tone as he spoke.

Clarice lets out another giggle as she turns he head back forward, looking up at the stars with the unhuman man. She doesn't quite see what intrigues Climber about stars, but she understands that they are beautiful.

Climber whips his head to look back at her after some time of looking at the stars, and he cant help but notice her hair being undone from it's regular braided style.

"Would you like me to braid your hair for you again?"

She turns her head to him, then looks down at her hair as she runs her fingers through it. She ponders for a bit, not fully sure, but has not real reason to turn him down.

"Sure, I don't mind."
