I wrote this back in 2021 (in spanish) after reading this prompt: "It's the fifth attempt on my life and it's only 10 am!" and I inmediately thought about this pair XD

I had a lot of fun translating this for you guys and I hope you like reading it (=^w^=)

Work Text:

No, that's not what it is at all!

Despite what many believed. He wasn't as clueless, stupid and useless as he appeared to be. Yes, he was still clumsy. Yeah, his grades weren't perfect. Yes, he sometimes didn't realize what was going on around him. But he knew something that no one else had even imagined. Since he can remember at least once a day he was involved in some kind of accident where his life could have come to an end.

Simple accidents they said. Bad luck, commented many others. Yet he knew the truth. Someone was trying to kill him. Someone was anxious to get rid of his person. He didn't know why, but he was clear that this was the case.

At first, even he thought he was just unlucky and that was why he almost got run over by some vehicle or other, or when he got involved in a store robbery and he was taken hostage… Or that time when walking down the street a flower pot fell over and shattered a few inches away from his person.

Of course, if they had been casual incidents, no one would think that he was constantly being attacked. However, you can't call something that has happened six times in a single week or what happened three times in the same week or when those accidents happen over the course of just one hour, just a coincidence.

Logically, how many pots can almost kill you in a measly hour? Counting, the number brought the total to 17.

So no, no one could tell him that he saw things that weren't there. That it was just paranoia. That no one would have a reason to want to end his life.

As farfetched as it seemed, that was the only option that made the merest shred of sense in his head.

So, at the tender age of 10, he decided to sit on his little bed and think through each and every time his life was in danger. He wrote them down in a notebook, careful not to leave any details out, and he didn't know whether to cry or laugh at what his eyes saw.

He could count nearly 300 incidents from almost being hit by a runaway car, to being pushed into traffic, and when things seemed to fall close to his person, missing by inches. The incidents dated back to when he was about five years old, as far as he could remember.

His mother had sometimes mentioned his clumsiness and he also noted such events, such as when he got "lost" one day when he was just over four years old and was found half an hour away from his kindergarten, in the wooded area near a playground, with some scratches and bruises, quietly eating a lollipop while sitting on top of a man dressed completely in black who had lost consciousness from a blow to the head.

He didn't remember much about it, but he did remember that the man approached him and gave him a candy to convince him to follow him, which he did since he was too young to understand that he shouldn't do it. Then everything was blurry. He remembered how he stopped near the park and said something to him, but his attention was focused on a butterfly which he chased, leaving the man behind who screamed and followed him into the woods. He only stopped when the insect disappeared from his sight and when he turned around, he saw the man lying on the floor with his head bleeding slightly. Apparently, he had tripped over something and hit a stone when he fell.

It was a woman walking her dog who found them and called the police. He didn't know what had happened to that man after he was arrested, but perhaps he should have paid a little more attention since he could help him discover the truth.

He snorted annoyed with himself, however he understood that he couldn't expect that much from his four-year-old self either, so he decided to focus on thinking if something strange happened back then.

It was in the midst of his musings that his mother called him down to dinner. He sighed, and after placing the notebook carefully under his pillow, he left his room and walked slowly down the stairs, not wanting to slip and plant his face on the floor.

Once downstairs he walked towards the kitchen, but his eyes ran into the framed photographs that were placed on the small table that was in the hall, near the entrance. There were five of them: one of his parents when they got married, one of the three of them when he was just born, one with his mother when he took his first steps, one of his father carrying him on his shoulders in what appeared to be a park, and the last one… was of the three of them at an airport, but next to them was an elderly man, smiling at the camera while holding a four-year-old brown-haired boy.

He didn't remember much, but he did remember that the man stayed at his house for a few days. With a frown, he grabbed the photo and walked to the kitchen where his mother was waiting for him.

-Mom, who is this man? –he asked showing her the photograph in his hands. She looked at him with a sweet smile on her face which she widened as she watched what his son was holding.

-Let's see… that's your father's boss. He came to spend his vacation in Japan when you were very little. If I remember correctly in that photograph, you were just over four years old. –she replied.

-Mmm… he only came that time? –he inquired with a frown.

She giggled at the cute gesture of her son, smiling at him at the same time that she handed him the photograph back to him who grabbed it with both hands.

-Yes... unfortunately he's a very busy man and your dad is practically his right-hand man, that's why he doesn't come home much either. –she told him, humming happily to herself.

He looked more questioningly at the photograph. He didn't see the point. His father said that he worked for a construction company and that he traveled all over the world for it. It seemed absurd to him that he never had time to go home.

Also, when he asked one of his teachers about it, she told him that everyone had the right to take a few days off to be with the family. So, he concluded that his father not coming was because he didn't want to, not because he couldn't.

It had been almost five years since the blond man had last appeared at the house and although he called occasionally it was always to make some excuse as to why he couldn't come to visit.

One day he showed one of the postcards that his father sent to his teacher who seemed very angry about it. She explained to him that no one could wear so little clothing at the North Pole because they would die at how cold it was there. Then he looked at the picture of his father who was wearing an orange construction overall, clearly wearing a white tank top under it, and wordlessly tore it up. She seemed to look at him sadly and he simply said that he knew he was lying, but he didn't want his mother to feel bad so he never said it out loud.

He honestly couldn't care less about that man who called himself his progenitor. He might never see him again in his life and he wouldn't feel bad about it at all.

-Tsu-kun? –he heard his mother call him and he looked up from the photo to her. – Why were you asking about it? –She questioned without erasing her smile.

He bit his lower lip, not quite knowing how to respond. He couldn't just say something like: “I suspect it's the fault of Dad and this man that someone is trying to kill me.” First because he would sound completely insane and second because even though he adored his mother, she wasn't very… smart. She fervently believed in the words of her husband and she did not see anything strange in what was happening.

Luckily the brunette seemed to misunderstand his hesitation at having to give an answer because she hugged him tightly and raised him in her arms while she lovingly kissed his forehead.

-Ooohh honey… I know you miss dad, just like me, but I'm sure he'll be home very soon. –She assured with a gentle voice.

He just nodded and let her deposit him on the chair that he usually occupied to eat. It was better like that. He didn’t feel like having to explain everything to her. Not now, not ever.

They both had dinner and after they were done, he went back to his bedroom. Tired of so much thinking he lay down on his bed and sighed, but before sleep overcame him, he took the notebook out from under his pillow and wrote down his suspicions. When he finished, he put it away carefully and it was then that he drifted off to sleep.

Over the next few days, he paid more attention to those around him, noticing the gazes on his person more than before. They sent chills all over his body, but he continued to act as if he didn't notice them. He occasionally felt a strange sensation, like a buzzing inside his head. It was then that he stopped or moved from the spot and something fell where he was previously standing. He understood that he should pay attention to that feeling, which he later recognized as “intuition”, since thanks to it, he managed to get out of more than one difficult situation.

It was about two months later that he entered his house angry and tired. He tossed his backpack to the floor and walked straight into the bathroom, where he proceeded to tend to the scratches that adorned his body. He snorted in annoyance as he remembered what had happened.

During physical education class, the boys had to play a baseball game. As if it wasn't enough that he wasn't particularly good at that sport and his teammates made fun of his clumsiness, a man dressed in black decided to try to attack him.

He saw him out of the corner of his eye when he was about to run to second base, something that didn't usually happen because they used to put him out when it was his turn to bat. The fact is that he noticed how he took a gun out of his jacket. He felt all of his alarm bells ringing in his head, but he couldn't just yell and point in the man's direction. Not considering that he seemed to care little that he was seen, especially since he seemed more than willing to shoot him in front of so many people.

So, he did the only thing he could think of, drop to the ground as he seemed to fire. The bullet grazed his shoulder, slightly tearing his uniform and causing it to bleed slightly. He paid no attention to his classmate's teasing for tripping over thin air, more interested in that figure that was disappearing from the patio. Knowing that he would no longer try to kill him, not when several boys surrounded him and there was no clear shot line, was that he was able to breathe a sigh of relief.

His teacher ordered him to go to the infirmary so they could look at that cut, but he decided not to. The class was adjourned after that since the bell had already rung and while everyone headed to the locker room to change their clothes, he just grabbed his things and left as fast as he could.

During his walk home he couldn't help but grumble with palpable anger seeping out of his pores. It was already the last straw! Not only had they been causing little accidents around him for years, but now they were pointing a gun at him in the middle of class! They didn't even try to hide anymore! True, thanks to that stupid act, he had the necessary evidence to support his theory, but it still bothered him greatly.

He looked at his reflection in the mirror and decided it was time to take matters into his own hands. Now that it was evident that they would try to go after him more directly, he couldn't continue with his day to day as before.

He mentally reviewed his options, but none seemed like a good idea, until he remembered something very important. Something that every person who resided in the city of Namimori had engraved in his memory.

He decisively took what he thought would be necessary and left his house, heading for the most feared place in the entire city.

~/////~/////~/////~/////~/////~/////~/////~/////~/ ////~/////~/////~/////~

At twelve years of age, Hibari Kyoya was already known as Namimori's demon. Because of his great physical ability, there was no one who could beat him in a fight, but it wasn't just brute force that he possessed. No. The young man with dark hair, metallic gray eyes with slight cobalt touches, and pale skin was one of the most intelligent people who lived in that city.

The entire Hibari family was known for their martial arts skills and incredible flair for strategy. The clan resided mainly in Asia, where their influence and contacts allowed them to be the leaders of the underworld. Something that would surprise many is that the Hibari were not governed by the same laws as other people. They had no problem committing criminal acts if they could achieve their goals by doing so.

Contrary to what anyone might think, they were not selfish or evil. They were just determined. When they had an objective in mind, they thought about the best way to accomplish it and if they had to commit acts considered “illegal” then that was what they were going to do.

Kyoya was the only son of the family head, knowing from an early age that one day he would lead the clan. It didn't bother him though. He liked having enough freedom to make all the decisions he wanted regarding his life. For years he trained and polished his combat skills, feeling satisfied with the results that his efforts showed.

His parents, someone who anyone would consider as cold and dehumanized beings, were proud of him and let him know. Maybe not every day, but with light gestures that were more than enough for them. It did not take a great act of affection for them to understand each other.

A couple of years back, he formed the disciplinary committee which was gaining influence over time, where it focused on enforcing the rules in the city of Namimori. It might be in an unconventional way, but he was a person given to actions and not words, so he considered that biting to death all herbivores who committed infractions was the best method of reprimanding them.

The fear he inflicted on them was also a good weapon for the future, something that gave him satisfaction since it was well known that the herbivores would remember his punishment and would think twice before committing any kind of infraction again.

The fact is that they were feared. People used to stay away from them as much as possible, even those on the other side of the law. That's why no one thought that something like that could ever happen.

Let’s go back to a few minutes before.

Kyoya had returned home after finishing his patrol around the city. His home was a traditional-style mansion, typical of a yakuza family, although they did not consider themselves as such, but they did not care if people called them that way.

At that time, he was with his parents having dinner in the main dining room, listening to how they talked about recent business and giving his contribution when he considered it appropriate. Their discussion was interrupted when the head butler knocked on the door. His face showed confusion and nervousness, something unusual in that middle-aged man who had been serving the family for so many years that he had learned better than anyone to maintain his composure at all times.

-Yun. Is there something wrong? –Inquired his mother.

Hibari Hui Ying, a beautiful woman of Chinese descent, whose pale skin, long black and silky hair, and commanding cobalt eyes attracted attention wherever she went. As her name indicated, she was a strong, brave, intelligent and beautiful woman, worthy of leading a clan as powerful as the Hibari clan.

-Madam... there is someone who would like to talk to you. –The man answered who seemed clearly disturbed by the sudden visit.

-I don't remember having any visits on the agenda. –Commented his father now.

Hibari Isamu, a fearsome and regal-looking man with his black hair, pale skin, and coal-like eyes, which possessed a certain sparkle that caused people to pay attention to such a domineering man.

His mother shook her head to indicate that she didn't either, and when the man's eyes fell on him, he just shrugged his shoulders. He didn't know who the person was who had so suddenly appeared and he didn't know whether to snort in amusement at the idiocy or be curious at the bravery displayed.

Everyone knew it wasn't a good idea to pick on a Hibari. If you were not summoned by one, you were not to show yourself in their presence. There would be not very peaceful consequences if that happened. Yun sighed and without saying anything he moved slightly away from the door, revealing the visitor.

Surprise was the feeling that clearly came out as the winner. None of those present imagined that a small herbivore would appear before them. He was a boy with messy brown hair, honey-colored eyes, pale skin, and a slim build. He recognized the physical education uniform from Namimori's elementary school and frowned at the poor condition of those clothes.

He could see how it had been torn from one shoulder, where traces of blood stood out on the white fabric, some dirt covered the pants that only reached the knees of the shorter boy and several bandages covered the skin of the brunette.

He felt irritated at the image. No one should appear before his person with such looks. Mistreating the uniform of his beloved school was a clear offense to his person, but before he could even move a millimeter from his position, he noticed the icy look of his mother which indicated that he better not move or else she would make sure to punish him to death.

He normally wouldn't obey anyone's orders, but out of everyone present she was the most carnivorous of all. He clenched his fists tightly and frowned as hard as he could, but made no move.

-How can we help you? – She questioned towards the small animal which was looking at them with a mixture of fear and nervousness.

The brunette bit his lower lip, unsure on how to formulate whatever it was he had in mind. He looked at his father who in turn was looking at the honey-eyed boy with a raised eyebrow and it seemed that he was about to lose his patience a bit.

Again, his mother glared at someone in her family with her gaze to prevent them from doing something. His father snorted with some amusement and soon after he also understood what was happening.

For them, the love that the woman professed for small animals was well known. Anything she thought of as “cute” was something she had a soft spot for.

He looked back at the little boy and aside from the state of his clothes, he could also see what she did. The chestnut-haired boy was small, soft and tender in appearance, with clear herbivore gestures that made him look like a frightened and anxious bunny.

Unfortunately for his person, he shared that same fixation and now that he had seen him, his previous irritation had completely disappeared, giving way to curiosity and the desire to know if the honey-eyed one was as soft as he seemed.

-Why don't we start by introducing ourselves? –The woman spoke again with a slight smile on her fine face.

She motioned for the brunette to come closer and he did, slowly like a small cornered animal, but when he was close enough to her, she pointed to the seat next to her. The brunette sat down with such carefulness that if it wasn’t obvious already how nervous he felt, it would have been now. She simply waited patiently for him to relax in the new seat before addressing him again.

-I am Hibari Hui Ying and these two are my husband, Isamu, and my only son, Kyoya. The man who greeted you is our chief butler, Yun. –The woman pointed out to those present in the room as she introduced each one of them.

The little rabbit looked at everyone and nodded in greeting, which the dark-haired ones reciprocated. Silence fell again. The Hibari’s were waiting for the young man to say something as he rubbed his hands together nervously and looked down at his lap.

He noticed that something fell near the younger boy and he reached out a hand to catch it, but that seemed to startle him, who let out a slight screech and grabbed the object, pressing it tightly against his chest.

-Kyoya… –her mother called him with a slight reprimanding tone, but before she could say anything else they heard the brown-haired male's voice for the first time.

-I'm sorry… –he whispered as he sighed and placed what he now knew was a navy-blue notebook on his lap.

-You don't have to apologize, honey. We know we can be a bit… intimidating. It is normal for you to be nervous. –assured the woman with all the sweetness that was possible for her to express. Which wasn't much, but the brunette still seemed to relax more at her words.

-Tsuna… –he murmured and for the first time he looked up and looked into their eyes. – My name is Sawada Tsunayoshi. –he introduced himself with a slight and nervous smile on his cherubic face.

-Hmm… Yun said you wanted to talk to us. –His father decided to speak, who sighed when he noticed how the honey-eyed boy tensed slightly at his stern tone of voice.

-Emm… yes… –he didn't say anything else and he felt a little irritated again.

He recognized that he wasn't the most patient person in the world, but the situation was making him more and more unnerved. Without saying anything he got up from his place, which was to the left of the herbivore who jumped in surprise and looked at him with eyes wide open.

-Kyoya? –Inquired her mother with a raised eyebrow.

-I'm going to get a change of clothes. –the raven growled and without waiting for an answer he left the room.

He soon reached his bedroom, grabbed some pants and a random shirt, and returned back to the dining room where he proceeded to throw the clothes in the brunette's face, who again let out a high-pitched screech.

-Change herbivore! –He ordered as he returned to sit in his place.

He noticed the annoyed look of the only woman present, but he decided to ignore it in favor of seeing the honey-eyed boy look indecisively at the new clothes now in his grasp. He saw him bite his lower lip again, look at what he was currently wearing and nod slightly. Then he did something that surprised everyone again.

Instead of going out for a moment to change, he put the clothes on top of the ones he was already wearing and after contorting a bit, he took off the ones he was wearing under the new ones. He gave a satisfied hum when he finished and carefully folded the garments and laid them beside him.

-You could have changed somewhere else. –Kyoya pointed out with slight amusement bathing his tone of voice. The brunette frowned and shook his head.

-If I had left and gone to another room, I would not have been able to come back here without getting lost in the process. –the brunette replied calmly.

-Yun could have accompanied you. –the raven commented pointing to the aforementioned who was looking at the scene with a wide amused smile on his face. The one with honey-colored eyes grimaced again at his words.

-My teacher said that I should never change my clothes if I’m alone with an adult I don't know. –declared the younger boy.

That comment made every single one of then frown. The one who looked angrier was the only woman in the room though. The dark aura surrounding her was almost visible.

-Tsunayoshi-kun… has that ever happened to you? –Asked his father seriously.

-Yes. It happened last year. I went to the infirmary because I sprained my ankle and the doctor wanted me to take my shirt off. –The brown-haired boy explained, looking at the dark-haired adult with his head slightly tilted.

-And what happened after? –Inquired softly his mother who was thinking something not very good.

-Contrary to what many think about me, I'm not an idiot. –murmured the herbivore, which surprised everyone again. – I knew that what he asked for was strange so I hit him in the stomach and he fell to the ground. Sensei heard the noise and entered the infirmary. After asking me what had happened, he pulled me out of there. And although I didn't see it, I'm sure she hit him because when the police arrived his nose was bleeding and I'm sure I heard someone comment that his jaw was broken. –He recounted what happened letting out a slight amused giggle.

Everyone relaxed a bit after hearing the whole story. The dark-haired female hummed happily while smiling serenely at the honey-eyed boy. Kyoya knew that his mother was planning on tracking down that doctor and teach him a very bloody lesson, but decided not to comment on that.

She was pretty protective of the things she liked and he couldn’t deny being the same, so there was no way he would get in her way of getting some payback in the name of the little animal in front of them.

-It's good that nothing bad happened to you. –the older raven affirmed with a slight smile decorating his features.

He also saw the spark in his wife’s eyes and felt pretty amused about what was to come. He actually wanted to offer his assistance should her ask for it. He was sure she wouldn’t, but he’d still offer just in case.

-I suppose you’re right. –Tsuna hummed while he shrugged his shoulders, clearly not that interested in what happened back then nor what that man’s life turned out like after the incident.

-Can I ask something? –Yun spoke from his place near the door. The herbivore turned to look at him and nodded. –Why did you come to see the masters? –The elder inquired with barely hidden curiosity.

-YUN! –shouted the only female, pissed about the question. After all, they were trying to get the brunette to relax and talk about it when he felt comfortable.

-I'm sorry ma'am, but it's getting late and Tsunayoshi-kun will have to go home soon so as not to worry his parents. –He pointed, causing the woman to grumble in annoyance.

Instead, the brown-haired boy let out an amused giggle. Hearing that cute sound, everyone turned to look at him with an eyebrow raised, a mix of confusion and surprise in their gesture.

-I could not be back for a week and Mom wouldn't notice. –He stated in between puffs of air.

-Excuse me? –The voice of the patriarch of the Hibari seemed colder than usual.

-Oh! I don't want to say that mom is bad… she's just… what's the word? –The minor murmured and stayed silent and thoughtful for a few seconds. - Oh! Scatterbrained! –He exclaimed laughing after saying it.

-Scatterbrained? –Kyoya inquired, blinking in bewilderment.

-Yep! I love her very much, but I know she's not very... smart. She is also always in the clouds. –the brunette clarified looking at him with a bright smile on his face.

-I see… but your father should worry, right? –Yun spoke again.

The grimace of disgust that the honey-eyed boy made was not expected by anyone.

-I'd be surprised if he even remembered my name. –He commented after huffing in annoyance. –Besides, it's his fault I came here in the first place. –the adorable herbivore admitted with a snort.

The silence that followed the shorter one's statement was almost physically heavy. They watched as he mumbled something under his breath, something inaudible to them, until he seemed to make up his mind and turned to look at him.

-Hibari-san… no wait… Hibari-senpai? Kyoya-senpai? –he saw him scratch the back of his neck nervously while frowning in frustration. Clearly with three Hibaris in the room he didn't quite know how to address the younger raven.

-Kyoya. –he answered without having to think about it too much.

Although, he normally would not let anyone call him by his name, much less a weak herbivore, he had to admit that the brunette was adorable and had enough courage to not only approach his home but go inside and talk to the entire family. That not something many people were able to achieve so the honey-eyed boy deserved some recognition for it.

-Kyoya-senpai! –he exclaimed with a huge smile on his face that made the taller one blush slightly.

He cursed under his breath as he noted the smirks on his parents' faces at his reaction. It wasn’t his fault he liked small and cute animals or that the boy in front of him looked and behaved like one. It actually was all his mother’s fault.

-What? –he questioned deciding to focus on the rabbit in front of him and not them. It was better if he just ignored them.

-Please train me! –The cute boy asked politely. Truly, this was a pretty unusual herbivore.

-Train you? –He asked dumbfounded.

His brain did not seem to process what was happening quite well. And it’s quite something to be able to leave the Hibari family speechless so many times in so little time. This was truly a unique little animal.

-Yes. I want to learn how to fight. –Tsuna clarified without erasing the smile from his face.

-Why? –the raven murmured without understanding.

The brunette snorted in a mix of angriness and exasperation before he grabbed tightly the notebook still on his lap.

-Everything it's the fault of the idiot who calls himself my father. –the honey-eyed male half grunted.

-Tsunayoshi-kun… would you mind explaining the situation to us from the beginning? –Asked the raven-haired female whose eyes looked icier than usual.

-People say I'm unlucky, but I know it's not true. I may be clumsy, clueless and not a genius when it comes to studying, but I'm not an idiot. There's no possible way what I have is just bad luck. And today I have verified it! Nobody gets shot just because of bad luck! –Tsuna exclaimed with a pout that would make them smile at his adorability if it weren't for the fact that they were more focused on the words that he let out of his mouth.

-Has someone tried to shoot you? – His mother spoke seriously.

-During physical education class. –answered the minor.

-Has that happened before? –His father inquired now.

-No. They always try to make it look like an accident, but they must have felt frustrated that I was still alive, even after they tried for so long. And if they are going to start being more direct in their approach, then I have to know how to defend myself, right? –the brunette nod firmly to his own words.

The family was quite surprised at how calm the boy sounded even after talking about his life being in constant danger. They weren’t strangers at having to fight for their life, but they didn’t expect to meet a tiny and cute boy like him whose acceptance to the bad cards he got in his life was so obvious. They expected even less seeing him so determined into fighting back. It was a really interesting thing they were now experiencing. And all was because of that adorable and fierce little animal.

- You're speaking in the plural. Is there more than one person who has tried to harm you? –Yun questioned now.

-Not hurt me. Kill me –The honey-eyed male clarified, pouting cutely at the adult who chuckled at that.

-Pardon me, then. –Yun said with amusement in his tone of voice.

-Herbivore. Explain yourself. –Kyoya demanded, feeling his head spinning.

The boy bit his lower lip with clear frustration and seemed to realize that he was not being very clear about what was happening to him, so he sighed tiredly and after hesitating for a few seconds, he grabbed the notebook he had brought with him and handed it to him.

He looked at the object blankly, but soon understood that he wanted him to pick it up so he did. There was some sort of bookmark and he flipped through it, quickly reading the contents. His frown deepened as he took in the new information until an angry growl escaped his throat.

-We’ll start tomorrow. –the raven declared after a few minutes in silence.

The honey-eyed boy grinned at him and jumped on top of him, wrapping both arms around his neck as he whispered how grateful he was that he had agreed to help him. He hesitated a few seconds before deciding to pat him slightly on the head in answer.

His parents didn't seem to understand so without saying anything, he slid the notebook across the table and let them read it. They tensed at each word they read: there the shorter boy had recounted the number of “accidents” that he remembered had happened around him and his deductions as to the cause.

His ideas were not far-fetched at all since the conclusion the brown-haired boy had reached seemed very logical. His father must have been involved in illegal matters and would have made someone angry, who had decided to kill his son in retaliation.

~/////~/////~/////~/////~/////~/////~/////~/////~/ ////~/////~/////~/////~

During the following weeks he watched as the herbivore improved thanks to his tutelage, very slowly, but without stopping. He decided to accompany him to classes and pick him up once they were over. He soon witnessed a man in black trying to kill the brunette.

They were crossing the park near the rabbit's house when he came out from behind some trees. He didn't hesitate to bite him to death as soon as he saw him.

Unfortunately, the man turned out to be more herbivorous than expected because with just a few hits, he decided that running away was a good idea, but as he turned to run, he slipped and fell to the ground, hitting his neck on a bottle lying around. The result? The idiot broke his neck by himself, dying in an absolutely pathetic way.

He received a scolding from his parents because now that the guy was dead, they couldn't get any information out of him. The little animal calmed them by saying that there would always be a next one, but the raven boy soon understood that all the assassins that came were more and more useless than the previous one.

Almost everyone ended up dying in a resoundingly stupid way and the few who managed to stay alive were questioned, but unfortunately, they all said the same thing. Their job was to kill Sawada Tsunayoshi, but none of them knew why.

After several months, they decided it was not worth the effort. Whoever was hiring them had no intention of giving them the slightest bit of information that could be useful to them, so they decided to focus on training the brunette so that he could defend himself. In order to make it better, they made a unanimous decision to have the rabbit move into the Hibari mansion.

His parents went to the Sawada residence one day, where they met the brunette’s mother, a woman with brown hair and warm hazel eyes named Nana. Tsuna wasn't wrong in describing her as scatterbrained and not very sharp. That woman was so deep into her own world that they didn't have to give her reasons on why they wanted her son to move in and start living with them. She just smiled at them and agreed to let her “Tsu-kun” go with them.

He couldn't help but mutter: “Thankfully, idiocy isn't hereditary.” Which made the little bunny laugh with amusement and his parents smirked between amused and mischievous.

It didn't take long to pack up everything the honey-eyed boy wanted to take and move it to the mansion. His room was next to the raven's, which was the best option since, although the younger boy had been visiting the house for months now, he kept getting lost every time they took their eyes off him.

Surprisingly, the coexistence was for the most part pleasant and natural. The brunette quickly adapted to the raven's routine and soon became another member of the family.

The one with eyes like the night swore that his mother loved the brown-haired one more than her own son, but she smiled maliciously at him and whispered: “As if you didn't feel the same…” to which he couldn't refute. After all, his love for adorable little animals was inherited from her. No other result could be expected.

It's amazing how quickly time passes. He still remembered being in front of that imposing mansion, nervous as hell to meet its fearsome owners, wanting to ask them to help him train.

He now felt absolutely comfortable among those people. Considering them his closest family. For five years, they accepted and helped him, supported him in his every decision and gave advice when they felt he needed it.

They didn't treat him as useless, or as someone who needed protection. They helped him grow, to become stronger, to feel better about himself, to accept his weaknesses and to improve as much as possible.

He got to a point where he almost didn't care how many assassins came to his door or crossed his path. They all accepted that it would take time to get answers and in a certain way he almost didn't care about the reason behind the whole thing. After all, he now has a big family because of it, so he couldn't feel as angry as he did at one point.

Although if he was completely honest with himself… it did continue to annoy him that he couldn't even go around the corner without being attacked by someone.

He walked at a fast pace through the corridors of the building where he was at that moment. His destination was clear to him in his mind, so much so that he ignored those people who waved at him or nodded slightly in respect. He flung open the door and stepped inside, wasting no time throwing himself into the lap of the room's sole occupant.

-Kyoyaaaa! –He exclaimed as he wrapped his arms around his boyfriend's neck and hid his face on his chest. He heard the taller teen snort in amusement as he wrapped one of his arms around his waist.

-Tsunayoshi. –greeted him calmly the older male.

The brunette waited, but it was clear that his partner didn't plan to say anything more, so he huffed in annoyance and separated enough for his eyes to collide with his. Honey and coal face to face. Hot and cold. Opposite poles that were attracted to each other.

-Aren't you going to ask? –He questioned making a pout that made the prefect think how adorable his little boyfriend was.

-Hmm… Tetsuya informed me of what happened. –the raven commented nonchalantly.

-It's only ten in the morning. –the honey-eyed teen half grunted.

-And? –Was the answer he got.

He ruffled his hair in frustration at his boyfriend's passivity on the subject.

-And? AND?! The problem is that is the 5th time this morning that they attack me! –He complained exasperated and pissed off.

-You say it as if it were not something that happens every day. –The gray-eyed man spoke with a half-smile adorning his features.

-AAAAggggghhh! I just want to be left alone one day. Is it too much to ask? –the brunette whined at the same time that he pouted.

The older male chuckled at how cute his little bunny was while he stroked his hair gently. Then he kissed his forehead chastely.

-When we find out who is behind this and why, you will have all the quiet days you want. – he promised to the brunette.

-Really? –The shorter one murmured, looking at him with his big, round and sparkling honey eyes while blinking adorably.

Kyoya hummed and kissed him again, this time on the pink, full lips of his lover who giggled a bit at the sweet gesture.

-Hmm... I'll make sure of that. –The tallest one swore, smiling maliciously at him, which made the brunette laugh at his boyfriend’s antics.

-I love you Kyoya. –The honey-eyed male whispered, smiling broadly at his tall, strong and protective partner.

-And I love you too, little bunny. –The dark-haired teen replied.

Then he kissed the brunette chastely and sweetly all over his face while the shorter teen let out light and adorable giggles from between his rosy lips. The raven smirked, satisfied with himself for making his little boyfriend more relaxed. Only God knows how much the brunette needed it.

A few days later a baby in a suit and fedora appeared in front of Tsuna and declared that he was a tutor sent by Tsuna's father to make the brown-haired boy the next boss of the most powerful mafia in the world.

The first thing Tsuna exclaimed upon hearing Reborn's words was: “I knew it was the old man's fault!” to the stupefaction of the shorter male who, confused, saw him run towards the office of his boyfriend who was at Namimori High School. Kyoya's first thought upon hearing what happened was: “I'm going to have to hunt down a stupid herbivore.

By the time Reborn found out who the brunette's partner was and who his parents were, the first thing he thought was: “Nono doesn't pay me enough for this!

Among all the chaos that developed with the arrival of the number 1 hitman, the only thing that was really worth it was: Iemitsu's idiotic face when Reborn told him that his only son had a romantic relationship with the only son of the leaders of the Hibari clan; the blonde’s hysterical reaction when he came to Japan to see his son and was hit squarely in the stomach by the brunette himself; and the beating Iemitsu received from the dark-haired prefect when he had tried to embrace the brown-haired teen in tears after being rejected by him.

Definitely, Tsuna will have to wait many more years until he can have a quiet day in his life, something that he would remind his boyfriend whenever he could, who felt extremely frustrated for not being able to fulfill the promise he made to his bunny.

Both began to appreciate much more those naps that were taken just the two of them, since they were the only moments of peace they would have for a long time.

……The End……
