Summary
VAEGON is second in line to a throne that his ancient house lost so unceremoniously. Along with his elder brother and younger sister, the Targaryen prince has known nothing but struggle and strife since the night of Daenerys's birth. They were nothing more than the lingering ghosts of a once-strong dynasty, turned beggars. Lost and wandering, they were no better than the streets they roamed after their savior passed away, leaving alone three children to survive Essos with the constant, looming threat of assassins hunting them at the behest of the Usurper.
IN the years that passed since the crowned stag overtook the Iron Throne, Prince Vaegon grew. He trained, became stronger, and became angrier. There was nothing left for him in the world except his precious sister Daenerys, whom he had protected, nurtured, and loved since the moment she was born amidst salt and smoke.
AND amidst salt and smoke did she prevail. Chasing after her into the funeral pyre, it was Vaegon who was saved that time. Whatever old magic that flowed through their veins manifested in Daenerys, saving the both of them from a fiery, agonizing demise. From those flames, the cry of dragons rang out for the first time in one hundred years.
