Chapter Text

It was a normal day for Steve Harrington well as normal as it had been lately after the upside down had invaded Hawkin's things changed. Most people said it was the work of the devil or some demon. Steve would laugh at that thought because they weren't far off from that theory. But what changed the most in the past few years was how he looked at Jonathan. He first started talking to him because he wanted to apologize about how he was. Jonathan accepted the apology and they put it behind them. Of course, the two didn't set off as friends right away. It started slowly. Steve would just be in the same place as Jonathan, and he'd say hi and Jonathan would say hi back. Then they'd meet up as friends.

That's were Steve was headed now. He was in his car driving to meet Jonathan at his house. He smiled to himself as he pulled into the driveway. He saw Jonathan waiting on his porch. Steve turned off the car and opened the door, "Hiya Jonny boy."

Jonathan rolled his eyes and smiled at the nickname, "Really Steve?"

Steve walked over to the boy and smiled back, "You enjoy it don't lie."

Jonathan opened the door, "Whatever you say. Nance called she wants to come over too. I told her I'd ask if you were up for more company."

Steve forced a smile, "Yeah sure. We should also invite Robin maybe to have a game night?"

In realty Steve yearned for the moments just him and the other boy. No one else to say anything about how Steve would react to a small touch from Jonathan. He loved being alone with Jonathan.

Jonathan walked over to the phone, "Alright I'll call Nancy and Robin."

Steve nodded and walked into Jonathan's room looking around before laying on the bed. He hated this. He knew he shouldn't feel this way about boys. He should feel this way about Nancy. Not about the boy he's hated his whole life, well mostly only through high school. Steve hated the way he loved Jonathan's life. He hated the way he loved how Jonathan would let himself be free when taking pictures. He hated how he loved Jonathan's brown eyes. He hated the way he loved the other boy's smile.

Steve was ripped from his thoughts when he felt the bed dip on the other side of the bed, "You okay?"

Steve looked at Jonathan, "Yeah didn't get much sleep, having to move back in with my parents is killing me."

Jonathan laid his head down making their faces just inches apart, "Stay here tonight. My mom is at the cabin with El and Hopper and Will is going to Mike's."

Steves breath became short, "Are you sure?"

Jonathan nodded, "Please I don't want to be alone."

Steve nodded scooting closer to Jonathan. Jonathan had switched his position of looking at Steve to looking at the ceiling thus giving Steve an excuse to be closer to the boy. Steves eyes had started to drift shut. He looked up once more at Jonathan before letting sleep take over. Jonathan held his breath as a sleeping Steve pulled his head onto Jonathan's chest. Steve and the other boy stayed like that for a while. It seemed like forever Jonathan not wanting to move and loss this. But of course, all good things must come to an end. There was a knock at the door, meaning Robin or Nancy had arrived.

Jonathan moved the boy on him gently waking him up, "Stevie the girls are here."

Steve groaned, "Already?"

Jonathan laughed, "Wake up I'll answer the door."

Steve laid his head down into the bed and mumbled as Jonathan walked out the bedroom. Steve stayed like that for a minute before sitting up rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. He got off the bed and headed out the room.

Once out of the room Steve watched as Nancy flashed Jonathan a smile. He rolled his eyes. Of course, him and Nancy were on good terms but even though everyone knew she was over Jonathan Steve couldn't help but get jealous sometimes.

Nancy waved at Steve, "Hey."

Steve nodded waving back before rubbing his eye which still had some sleep left in his system.

Nancy spoke to Jonathan, "Is he ok?"

Jonathan laughed as he walked to the kitchen, "Steve was just asleep like five minutes ago."

Steve rolled his eyes and sat on the counter, "I'll go home."

Jonathan looked at the other boy, "No please don't."

Nancy laughed at the pair, "God you two are so attached yet a few years ago Steve wouldn't even say a word to you."

Before anyone could say anything the door swung open. Robin walked through the door with a goofy smile, "Sup mother fuckers!"

Steve laughed, "Your so damn dramatic."

Nancy looked at the girl with a genuine smile, "Hey Rob."

Robin smiled a small blush on her cheeks, "Hey Nance."
