Work Text:
- Every Friday night was reserved for a movie marathon with your roommate Bucky.
- Each week there’s a different genre of movies you watch—this week, it’s horror time.
- Snacks like popcorn, chocolate and various different candies, along with delicious tasty soda to wash it all down, were all set up on the coffee table.
- You and Bucky were dressed up in matching grey tracksuits as you’re huddled up on the sofa with all the soft and fluffy blankets in your apartment.
- Bucky puts on Paranormal Activity—the first of many in the series.
- The more into the movie you get, the more scared you are.
- You reduce yourself smaller, sinking into the comfort of the safe sofa as you hold up the edge of the blanket, ready to block your vision as soon as something scary comes on.
- Bucky rests his arm at the back of the sofa, looking over at you every once in a while, smiling and grinning at how cute you were.
- He was ready to catch and comfort you when the time was right.
- He knew how much you disliked horror movies because you were such a scaredy-cat, but you watched them for him because he enjoyed them.
- A particular frightening scene came on, making you jump in the seat as you gasp in fear. You move into his side, hiding your face there—seeking safeness and security in him.
- “Hey,” he drapes his arm over your shoulder and pulls you closer until your head lays on his warm chest, “it’s ok, doll, I’ve got you.”
- He smiles sweetly as he looks down at you while you grin up at him, lacing his fingers with yours.
- His hand so much bigger, cupping yours in a gentle grasp—fitting so ideally like two puzzle pieces meant to be.
- The movie is much more bearable now with Bucky’s soft comfort.
- “Thank you, Bucket.” You mutter as you nuzzle further into him, directing your attention back on the movie that’s not so scary anymore with him protecting you.
- Bucky’s heart swarms with butterflies at your nickname for him, making him feel lightheaded and all fluffy inside.
- He wants to pour out his feelings for you. These romantic feelings he’s held for so long now, but he decided, maybe for another movie night…
