Chapter 1: The Wookiee

Chapter Text

‘There will always be conflict. Between frenemies, new allies and even family.’

“More are coming. We must hurry!” Omega urged the Wookiee as the two of them were headed out from the cargo hold.

But as soon as the Wookiee saw Echo the youngling was on the defensive, growling with intent.

“You can trust us.” Omega tried to assure the youngling. “He is a friend.”

But seeing whom or rather what Echo represented. The Wookiee’s worst fears and nightmares. Being in the presence of a clone… No, he could not deal with that after seeing what they had done to his kind. The Jedi. Nor could he trust them. Clearly, the girl being on their side and thus untrustworthy as well.

The Wookiee roared. Spewing incoherent words in his native tongue in the effort to fending off the enemy. The two standing in front of him. After all, he had already managed to defeat the droids. With the help of the girl yes. But still. He could defend himself. Escape by himself. He had done it before and could do it again. He did not need these outsiders help. Not the clones that much was for sure.

The Wookiee raised his weapon against Omega and Echo.

Just then more droids entered the cargo area and the three started firing upon their common enemy. Hunter, Tech and Wrecker arrived as well. Having heard over the comms of the Vanguard droids the blaster fire knowing it was their team members in trouble.

The Batchers along with the Wookiee retreated but the droids soon had them surrounded.

“There is no way out!” Echo shouted over the sounds of the firefight.

Hunter glanced around them. Echo was right. The more droids kept on pouring into the cargo hold. Soon enough there would be no way for any of them to escape. Surrender being their only option.

“We surrender.” Hunter did not see any other choice for them.

“What?”

“We, surrender.” Hunter stated loudly and raised his hands in the air as a sign of the same. The rest following suit Hunter’s example.
