Monty carefully bandaged Moon's arms, being surprisingly delicate with the scar at hand, being a tough guy and all. Moon had gotten himself into a mess during another round of interdimensional travel, causing him to get a nasty scar on his forearm. He got back home to patch it up, but Monty was there, waiting for him, either because he needed to tell him something, or it was another bribe from the gator.
Suddenly, as quick as Moon got back, he found himself in a rush to Moon's room, being carried by the gator himself. Despite Moon's constant affirmations that he was going to be okay, Monty seemed to ignore him, grabbing medical supplies, and this all lead up to now.
Monty's caring and protective nature didn't surprise Moon. He knew how the gator was with his partner; if someone did so much as call Moon a name, which never really set him off, Monty would swoop in and obliterate that person. Not actually, of course, but the gator did have a way with words when he was angry.
Monty only let out a sigh after he was done, making sure the bandages were tight but not so much as to make the celestial animatronic wince. "I'm really worried about you doing this interdimensional crap," he snarled, "I don't want ya' getting killed or whatever."
"Monty, I told you I would be fine," Moon reassured, sounding more exhausted than before. He lost count on how many times he told Monty it was all okay today. He probably said it 10? Maybe 12 times? He forgot. "I've done this before, and I'm still here, am I not?"
"I know that, but there's always a possibility," Monty grumbled, sounding unsure. Once he was sure the bandages were just perfect, Monty stood up and stretched, cracking his knuckles in the process, "I just don't like you gettin' hurt, that's all."
"Well, I won't, I promise," Moon looked down at his now bandaged arm, rubbing and petting it slowly, wincing every now and then, "This was just a little stink up, that's all."
Monty only sighed, still feeling unsure, "If you say so, Moony…"
There was a twinge of awkward silence before Moon reached out, grabbing Monty's hand in a soft hold, lightly massaging the back of the gator's hand with his thumb, "Hey, I promise, okay?"
Monty looked into the celestial animatronic's eyes solemnly. He always loved those red pupils. They reminded him of how nice scarlet red sunsets were. It also reminded Monty of his own eyes, which were red. He was always ashamed of his eyes, hence why he always wore those star-shaped sunglasses.
Around Moon, however, Monty always felt safe taking them off, and right now, as he looked deeply into the celestial animatronic's eyes, he felt safe and sure that his Slunky D would be okay during dimensional travel.
Another moment of silence passed the two before Monty pulled Moon into a protective, but gentle hug, trying to be careful of the bandaged arm.
"You better not be lyin' to me, prick."
Moon only smirked, and hugged the gator back, letting off a scoff, "You know I'd never lie, stupid little gator."
Of course, that was a lie, and he only chuckled and melted into the embrace the gator gave.
