Work Text:
He stands at the very back of the big stadium full of people. Hidden beneath the hood of an oversized white hoodie he borrowed a long while ago and didn’t return (it’s very warm with the hoodie on, but it’s too risky to be seen with short sleeves) and wearing a pair of sunglasses, he hopes that nobody will notice him. He just wants to listen to the voice of the man the whole stadium is waiting for after he’s finally free.
The man who’s the owner of the hoodie he’s wearing. The man who used to call him his, many years ago. The man who he hadn’t seen or spoke to in those many years and who he’s written too many songs about. He knows that half of the other man’s songs are written about him too. He sighs longing and a couple seconds later, the whole stadium starts to scream and cry. He’s coming. And the small man at the back must admit that he’s slightly scared. But now he can hear his voice and just like back then, he shivers at the beautiful sound of the green eyed man, who just got on stage. He stands there, listening to the breathtaking voice and maybe there are some tears rolling out of his bright blue eyes.
The show goes on and somewhere, in between two songs that are named after fruits and probably also written about him, he decides to buy his first beer this evening. He buys the second one after the curly headed man on stage congratulates a man who proposed to his boyfriend and the third one after the other one reads a sign and does his
aggressive-shoulder-move that he used to do back then. After a while, the small man at the back is pretty drunk. And then he can hear the first few notes of the next song and now he’s really crying. It’s their first song ever, the song that made them famous. He starts to sing along, quiet of course. Or at least that’s what he thinks. In reality, some people in front of him can hear his voice and a whisper starts to form in the back of the stadium. The blue eyed man closes his eyes and breaths a couple times, trying to calm down again, while nearly the whole stadium is whispering his name now. He doesn’t know it, he just stands there and listens to the voice of his old husband, eyes closed and head down. He can’t see the confused face of the man on stage, when he hears the name of the blue eyed man.
He can’t see the curly headed man walking down the stage and heading, escorted by many security guards, right in his direction. He isn’t interested in the screams of some fans, maybe the man on stage did something a sign requested, winking or stuff. He doesn’t care. That’s, until the old song ends, and the green eyed boy gives signs to the stage so that a new song starts playing. It isn’t the song that should start right now after what the program says. And then he feels a slight touch on his cheek and opens his eyes. Shit. That’s him. The one who he thinks every day about and who’s heart he might have broke. And now he starts singing. In front of thousands of people.
Same lips red Same eyes blue
The green eyed man takes away the others sunglasses and smiles at the sight of blue, blue eyes that are staring slightly scared at him.
Same white shirt couple more tattoos
The man pulls up one sleeve of the white hoodie the other one is wearing and touches a tattoo of a rope. Both men shiver.
Tastes so good, looks so real
He doesn’t know why, but the blue eyed man decides to sing along and the whole stadium gasps.
Sounds like something that I used to feel
But I can’t touch what I see
At this point, both men are cupping each other’s face with one hand while singing.
They sing the whole song, and at the end, nearly everyone is crying, including the two.
Harry smiles down at Louis.
Louis smiles up to Harry.
And then they kiss each other.
In front of thousands of people.
And the world explodes
