Chapter Text
Sprig Plantar was not having a good day.
It had started out innocently enough, he had just asked Hop Pop if he could help out with making dinner. Unfortunately, the young frog’s plan to add some extra kick to Hop Pop’s soup ended up causing nearly half of the kitchen to go up in flames (how was he supposed to know that those particular spices were extremely flammable?). After a lengthy lecture from Hop Pop, consisting mostly of the old frog complaining about Sprig’s lack of “responsibility”, Sprig had walked out of the house and into the woods surrounding the Plantar Farm, needing to grab some fresh air.
“It’s just not fair” Sprig grumbled to himself as he approached a clearing in the woods. Sprig leaned up against a nearby tree and closed his eyes in an attempt to gather his thoughts, but before he could even relax, he heard a rustling noise coming from nearby.
“Who’s there” Sprig said, reaching inside his jacket for his trusty slingshot, half expecting this to be another one of Ivy’s infamous ambushes. However, before the frog could even make a move, he heard a growling coming from nearby as a giant Mantis appeared from behind the trees, its eyes focused in on the young frog. Sprig gulped and slowly started to back away from the approaching predator, his eyes darting around trying to find a potential escape route.
Suddenly, Sprig heard a strange noise, something that sounded like a short melody from a music box. But before the Frog could figure out what the noise was, a bright light suddenly surrounded both Sprig and the Mantis, blinding the Frog as he covered his eyes. Sprig then felt a weird sensation, as if the world around him was disappearing. Then Sprig felt his body lurch forward into nothingness as everything went dark.
*******
When Sprig regained consciousness, he suddenly noticed how much noisier everything was. Gone was the quiet ambiance of the Amphibia Forest and in its place was something that Sprig didn’t quite recognize. Sprig opened his eyes and immediately noticed that he wasn’t in the forest anymore. It looked like he was in some kind of park, although it wasn’t any type of park he had ever seen before. Everything looked so sleek and otherworldly, nothing like what Sprig was used to back in Wartwood.
“HELLO, IS ANYONE THERE” Sprig called out, hoping there would be someone nearby but unfortunately his calls went unanswered. Sprig took a moment to try and collect his thoughts and figure out what had just happened to him. One second he was standing in the forest trying to escape a giant Mantis and then he just suddenly appeared here. He briefly wondered if this could be the effect of one of Maddie’s many curses he had seen her work on but figured that that probably wasn’t the case considering that, as far as he knew, Maddie couldn’t do something to this degree (besides, he hadn’t even interacted with her recently so there wasn’t any time for her to place a curse on him)
Sprig’s thoughts were interrupted when he heard some rustling coming from behind him. Turning around Sprig looked on in horror as he saw the Mantis from earlier rise up from some bushes. The Mantis looked around, probably just as confused as Sprig was, however when its eyes landed on the young Frog its instincts kicked in as it swung one of its arms at Sprig. Sprig yelped as he quickly jumped out of the way. Frantically looking around, Sprig noticed a small gate that he assumed was the entrance to the park, however he had no idea where in the world he was and leaving this park area would surely end up with him getting lost and potentially in even more danger than he was in currently. The Mantis let out a roar as it began slowly stalking towards Sprig, ready to strike at any moment. Left with no other choice Sprig gulped and made a mad dash towards the entrance of the park, the Mantis following shortly after.
Once Sprig left the park he continued to run as fast as his legs could take him. Sprig tried his absolute best to not let any of the unfamiliar and alien sights around him distract him as he tried his best to escape this killer Mantis. As he ran he noticed tall buildings surrounding him on all sides, leading him to believe he was in some kind of city, but what city was he even sent to? From what little Sprig had seen and heard about, the only major city in Amphibia was Newtopia but this place looked nothing like it. Sprig set those thoughts aside for the moment as he continued to run. As Sprig continued to run he noticed the tall buildings slowly became more and more scarce and the noise seemed to grow a little more quiet. Sprig briefly looked behind him and noticed that the he could no longer see the Mantis that had been chasing him. Sprig let out a sigh of relief, figuring that he must have lost the Mantis at some point during the chase. However, as he turned his head back he noticed something else heading in his direction. Sprig tried to dodge out of the way but it was too late as he collided into whatever had been running towards him.
Sprig cried out in pain as his body was sent flying into some nearby grass. Whatever he had ran into was definitely made out of metal given how much it hurt. Sprig tried to get up and look at whatever he had ran into but the pain from the collision and the exhaustion from running for his life left him unable to move his body. As Sprig tried his best to move his body he heard something approach him.
“Oh my gosh I totally didn’t see you there kid, are you okay?” A Girl’s voice rang out. Sprig let out a sigh of relief. Finally, someone had found him, it was only a matter of time now before he could figure out where he was and how far from Wartwood he was.
“I’m fine, I’m fine, I’ve endured far worse than this” Sprig said, slowly managing to pick himself up off the ground. Sprig looked over at his savior to try and get a better look at her, however the light from a nearby lantern (or at least what he assumed to be a lantern) obscured his vision. From what he could tell, this person was pretty tall, so she was probably some kind of Newt. ‘Wow I must be pretty far from home if a Newt found me’ Sprig thought to himself as the “Newt” walked closer to him.
“I’m so so sorry for hitting you with my bike, Sasha is always telling me that I need to be more careful when I’m riding this thing” The Newt said as it began to slowly approach him. So, he had ran into a Bike, no wonder it had hurt so much. Sprig moved his hands to cover his eyes from the light as the Newt began to become more visible.
“By the way, what’s a kid like you doing….out….so….late” The Newt’s voice slowly came to a stop as the two finally got a good look at each other. Sprig immediately realized that he was wrong in his assumption that a Newt had found him. He was correct that this creature was tall, but he only just now noticed that it was because she had long spindly limbs. Looking at her face Sprig immediately took notice of the strange bump on her face and her large bushy hair that looked to be barely contained by the helmet she was wearing. This Monster was nothing like Sprig had ever seen before and he was terrified. Suddenly he wished he was dealing with the giant Mantis again, at least that was something familiar.
“AHHHH A MONSTER!!” Sprig yelled out in shock.
“AHHH A TALKING FROG!!” The Monster yelled in response. Sprig tried to get up and run away but his body immediately collapsed after only a few steps. Sprig watched in horror as the monster slowly crept towards him.
“Please don’t eat me monster lady, I promise I taste horrible” Sprig closed his eyes and begged, not wanting his final moments to be in some unknown location being eaten by some unknown monster.
“Eat you? Why in the world would I do that? Besides who are you calling Monster, if anything you’re the monster around here Mr. Talking Frog” The Monster responded. Slightly confused, Sprig opened his eyes and noticed that the monster was crouched in front of him with a mixture of concern and curiosity on her face. At this angle she didn’t look nearly as scary as Sprig was initially led to believe.
“You mean, you aren’t going to eat me?” Sprig asked, slowly picking himself up off the ground.
“Dude of course not, I hate the taste of frogs! No offense though” The Monster said, giving Sprig a look of sympathy.
“Uh, none taken, I guess” Sprig responded, still a little confused at the whole situation, also nervous at the implication that this monster HAD attempted to eat frogs before. The Monster let out a small chuckle as she offered him her hand. Sprig nervously took it as she helped him up on his feet, getting some slime on her hand in the process.
“Ugh you really are a Frog” The Monster said, wiping her hand on her clothes. The two looked at each other as an awkward silence filled the air. It was clear that they had no idea what to say to each other.
“So uh, what’s your deal? You some kind of escaped government experiment or some alien sent here to conquer mankind” The Monster said, breaking the momentary silence. Sprig gave her a confused look, not really sure what those two statements really meant.
“Ok then, do you at least know how you got here” The Monster said.
“Not really, one second I was in the forest back home trying to escape a giant killer Mantis and then suddenly I found myself here” Sprig replied, trying to think if there was anything he may have missed on how he was transported here.
“Wait did you say giant killer Mantis” The Monster said before suddenly being cut off by a loud roar from nearby. The two turned towards the source of the noise only to be met with the giant Mantis that had been chasing Sprig ever since he arrived here.
“Oh Frog, it found us” Sprig gulped, looking up at the Mantis in terror.
“Who knows, maybe it’s actually a nice Mantis” The Monster said, absolutely terrified. In response, the Mantis swung one of its arms at the two, narrowly missing the two and getting it caught in the ground.
“NOPE DEFINITELY NOT NICE, RUN!” The Monster shouted as she grabbed Sprig and made a dash towards where her bike was laying on the ground. She picked the bike up off the ground and quickly jumped onto it.
“Hold on tight” She said as Sprig positioned himself on top of the backpack she was wearing. Suddenly she took off at a great speed, catching Sprig off guard and almost causing him to fall off, but Sprig was able to steady his grip and keep himself on the bike.
For the second time in one night Sprig found himself being chased by a giant killer Mantis, though this time he had at least had someone else with him, even if that person was some strange monster he had never seen before. As the Monster pedaled as fast as she could Sprig took the opportunity to look behind him only to notice the killer Mantis slowly gaining on the two. The Mantis continued to swing its arms at the two however the monster was able to steer out of the way to avoid getting hit. Suddenly, the monster slowed down to a stop, audibly panting.
“What’s wrong, why did you stop” Sprig asked, keeping his eyes on the Mantis that was still lumbering towards them.
“Sorry dude, I’ve never biked this hard before, my body can barely take it” She said in between breaths. The Monster got off the bike as she set it against a nearby fence and began looking around frantically. The Mantis had now caught up to them and immediately swung its arm at them again. Sprig closed his eyes, ready to at least try and brace for impact when he felt something grab him and yank him away.
“Quickly, in here” The monster said, as they went through an opening in the fence and into a nearby door. Shutting the door, the two let out sighs of the relief as their chase briefly paused.
“So uh, where are we” Sprig asked, looking around. They were in some kind of weird lookout room, with a window facing towards the outside where a large empty area lay with some unfamiliar equipment lay. He also saw the Mantis walk in, looking for the two.
“Oh, this is some construction site near my house, my friends and I sneak in here all the time, we should be safe for now” The monster said, looking out the window before ducking back down. An awkward silence filled the air once more as the two stared at each other. This time however, Sprig was the one to break the silence.
“So uh, I never caught your name by the way, if you have one” Sprig said, not really sure what to say.
“Oh, of course I have a name, my names Anne Boonchuy, what about you” The Monster said with a smile.
“I’m Sprig Plantar, thanks for saving me earlier” Sprig replied.
“Well, it’s not like I could just leave you to die or anything” Anne replied, chuckling. Just then, the Mantis that had been stalking them outside let out another roar. Sprig glanced out the window and saw the Mantis slowly closing in on their hiding spot.
“Hey Anne, I think that Mantis is getting close to finding us, shouldn’t we do something about it” Sprig said, looking back at Anne. Anne looked out the window with Sprig at some of the machinery in the distance and then over at the wall where a board with a bunch of different keys hanging on it stood as her eyes lit up.
“I think I have an idea”
*********
Anne wasn’t entirely sure how she had ended up spending the evening of her birthday running for her life from a giant monster Mantis with a Pink Talking Frog Boy but suffice to say, it certainly beat out anything her parents or friends could’ve come up with. As Anne watched the giant Mantis stalk towards the guard shack that her and Sprig were hiding in she briefly went over the plan she had come up with to help deal with this Mantis.
She had snuck into this construction site many times recently with Sasha and Marcy so she had a general idea of the areas layout. She knew that nearby there was a giant hole that the construction crew had been digging and planning to fill with cement and, if she remembered correctly, the cement mixer truck should still be nearby and ready to dump the cement into the hole. All she had to do was sneak by a giant killer Mantis, find a way to lure said Mantis into the hole, and then illegally operate a piece of construction equipment to encase the Mantis in cement. Sounds easy, right? It certainly didn’t help that she was stuck with a talking frog who probably didn’t know the first thing about the modern world. If only Sasha had decided to stay with her instead of going back to her house, she was better at executing and leading these types of plans anyways. Anne walked over to the board that held the keys for and grabbed the keys the conveniently labeled keys for the cement mixer truck. She motioned Sprig over to the door as the two silently snuck out.
“Alright Sprig, do you see that giant hole in the ground over?” Anne said, pointing at the hole, which was just behind where the Mantis was standing. Sprig nodded in response. “Do you think that you can lure that Mantis over to the hole and get it to fall in” Anne said. She hated that she had to put the young frog in danger again so soon after saving his life, but it was the only way the plan could work.
“Yeah, I think so. What are you planning on doing?” Sprig replied, nervously glancing over at the Mantis.
“It’s a little hard to explain so you’re just going to have to trust me on this one” Anne said nervously, hoping that Sprig wouldn’t question her any further. Sprig simply just nodded in response and gave her a confident look as he ran off to confront the giant mantis.
“HEY MISTER MANTIS! OVER HERE YOU BIG DUMB DUMB!” Sprig said, jumping up and down in his best attempt to get the Mantis’ attention. The Mantis noticed Sprig and let out another roar as Sprig began running around, dodging the many strikes of the Mantis, as he led it closer and closer to the hole.
“Wow, that kid’s sure got guts” Anne mused to herself as she watched the young frog effortlessly dodge all of the Mantis’ strikes. However, Anne knew she didn’t have to time to watch as she quickly made her way over to the cement mixer truck. She quickly unlocked the door and jumped inside a drivers seat that was clearly too big for a girl of her age. As she stuck the key in the ignition and turned on the truck, she used the rear and side view mirrors to help keep track of the giant Mantis. Suddenly she heard a loud crashing noise as the Mantis disappeared from the mirrors. She glanced out the window and saw Sprig running towards her.
“Anne! The Mantis is in the hole, but its trying to climb out!” Sprig said, frantically waving his arms around. Anne gulped as she turned back towards the dashboard of the truck. Unfortunately for her, none of the many buttons and levers were actually labeled, leaving Anne frantically searching for something that would allow her to dump the cement into the hole. Anne could still hear Sprig yelling about the Mantis from outside, so she knew that she didn’t have much time. Then, her eyes landed on a lever right near where she was sitting. She still wasn’t sure if the lever would actually dump the cement, but it was her best bet.
“Alright, here goes nothing” Anne said as she nervously pulled the lever. Suddenly, she heard a creaking sound as the back of the cement mixer lowered itself, dumping out a bunch of cement into the hole that the Mantis was trapped in. Anne cheered and jumped out of the truck, running over to where Sprig was standing near the edge of the hole. She then watched as the last of the Mantis was covered by the cement, the air bubbles it was producing slowly coming to a complete halt.
“WOOHOO! WE DID IT!” Anne cheered, pumping her fist in the air excitedly. She couldn’t believe it! She had actually taken down a huge Mantis! It was like something out of one of those fantasy movies that Marcy kept trying to get her and Sasha to watch. Anne looked over at Sprig who was staring at the now cement filled hole, obviously still worried about the Mantis. “Don’t worry dude” Anne said “Once that stuff dries up, there’s no chance that we’ll be seeing that Mantis again”. Sprig looked like he was about to say something we then suddenly heard some voices from off in the distance.
“Oh crap, it’s the construction workers, let’s get out of here!” Anne said, grabbing Sprig and running as fast as she could towards the hole in the fence they had used to sneak in.
*******
“THAT WAS AWESOME!” Sprig exclaimed once Anne and him had arrived back at where Anne had left her bike on the ground. Sprig had never been able to do something like this back in Amphibia. Sure he had helped defend the farm from various creatures with Polly and Hop Pop back home, but he had never taken down a giant Mantis before!
“I just can’t believe I was actually able to operate a cement mixer truck like that” Anne said, picking up her bike from off the ground. After grabbing her bike, she turned back towards Sprig.
“Hey, I just realized, you don’t have anyplace to stay don’t you” She said. It was then that Sprig realized that he still had no idea how he got here or even how to get back, he hadn’t even considered where he would be staying until then. Sure he had been camping a few times before, but now he was in a completely unknown location, trying to camp on his own out here would probably lead to his own death. Sprig silently shook his head, the gravity of his situation slowly setting in. Anne stood there for a moment, silently thinking to herself.
“Well then, why don’t you stay at my place? At least until we can find a way to send you home” Anne said, a smile forming on her face. Sprig was shocked. He had only known Anne for less than an hour and she had already helped save his life, now she was offering him a place to stay! Sprig excitedly shook his head as Anne’s smile grew wider.
“Great! My parent’s would freak out if they saw you so I’ll have to keep you hidden from them but I’m sure we can find-“ Anne said before being cut off by Sprig jumping up and giving her a tight hug.
“Thank you thank you thank you thank you! You are the nicest person ever!” Sprig said, tears forming in his eyes. Anne simply smiled and patted him on the head.
“Hey, it’s the least I can do for a friend” Anne said. A Friend? Sprig had never had someone call him a friend before. He had people who he considered acquaintances back in Wartwood, like Ivy and Maddie, but never anyone who had called him a friend before. Sprig tightened his grip as he continued thanking Anne for her generosity.
Eventually, Sprig let go of Anne and climbed back onto her back as she got on her bike as the two rode off. As they rode Sprig took the time to finally get a proper look at the world around him now that he was no longer running for his life. Given the amount of houses around Sprig could tell that he was in some kind of City, but all of the houses looked so different than what he was used to back in Wartwood. They looked so much more angular and geometric as opposed to the more natural look of the houses in Wartwood. He also noticed all these strange contraptions with wheels near each house. Were these how the people of this world got around? Where were all the Snails? Sprig put these questions aside for the moment, deciding that he would just have to ask Anne about them later. After a few more minutes of riding, Anne stopped in front of one of the houses and got off the bike.
“Well, here we are!” Anne said, leaning her bike against the side of the house and taking her helmet off, allowing Sprig to see just how bushy her hair actually was. The two walked over to the front door, however, instead of opening it Anne looked over at Sprig.
“Alright, I was supposed to be home hours ago so my parents are probably just a little mad at me right now. It’s best if you just hang out here for a moment so I can divert their attention, I’ll come back out to get you as soon as I can” Anne said, giving him a small thumbs up. Sprig simply just shook his head and stepped off to the side, under a nearby window.
“Hi Mom! Hi Dad! I’m home!” Anne called out as she opened the door and walked out of Sprig’s sight. As soon as Anne stepped through the door another voice boomed out from somewhere in the house.
“ANNE BOONCHUY WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!” A Woman’s voice rang out, who Sprig could only assume to be Anne’s mom.
“Sorry Mom, I was hanging out with Sasha and Marcy, you know how it gets when I’m with them” Anne replied. The Front Door was closed now although Sprig could still hear their voices, albeit slightly muffled.
“Do you have any idea how worried your father and I were?! We were just about ready to call the police!” Anne’s Mom yelled.
“I said I’m sorry! I just got a little distracted that’s all” Anne said, her voice taking on a noticeably more melancholic tone. Sprig realized that Anne had been distracted by him, causing him to feel just a little guilty.
“Not only that but we also got a call from your school today saying that you ditched class! Do you realize just how irresponsible you’re being?!” Anne’s Mom yelled in response. That last comment stung Sprig just a bit, bringing back the memory of the argument he had had with Hop Pop right before ending up in this strange world. There was a brief moment of silence between the two and for a moment Sprig thought he heard someone crying.
“Listen Anne, we’re just worried about you. You’re 13 now, you need to start taking more responsibility for your actions, do you understand what I’m saying?” Anne’s Mom said, her voice taking on a much softer and more motherly tone.
“Yes Mom, I’m really sorry for worrying you and Dad, I promise it won’t happen again” Anne said, her voice sounding nothing like the energetic girl Sprig had just been talking to. Sprig heard Anne’s Mom sigh.
“We had to send the guests home because of how late it was but there’s still some Cake in the Kitchen for you if you want it” Anne’s Mom said.
“Thanks Mom, you can go on ahead, just give me a moment to put my stuff up in my room” Anne replied. Sprig heard footsteps that grew quieter and then suddenly the Front Door opened right next to Sprig, causing him to jump.
“Quickly” Anne said, grabbing Sprig’s arm and dragging him inside. Sprig barely had time to process the new scenery before Anne quickly dragged him up the stairs and into a room. After closing the door, Anne turned on the lights and placed Sprig on the bed in the room.
“Welcome to my room! Feel free to make yourself at home while head downstairs for a bit and get some food, I’ll make sure to bring you some” Anne said, placing her backpack on the floor and running out of the room, leaving Sprig alone.
Normally Sprig would be ecstatic to be in a new place like this, especially with all these unfamiliar textures for him feel, but the events of the day had finally caught him, leaving him completely drained as he simply just flopped back onto Anne’s bed, content to just lay there with his thoughts.
As Sprig lay there, staring up at the ceiling, the comments about irresponsibility from both Hop Pop and Anne’s Mom rang in his head. Slowly, the reality of his situation began to dawn on Sprig. He was trapped here. As far as he knew there was no way for him to get home. He would never be able to help out at the family stand. He would never be able to hang out with Polly and do crazy stunts around the house with her. He would never be able to play bugball with Ivy and Maddie. He would never be able to try and make Mrs. Croaker like him despite how stubborn she was about not liking him. And most of all, he would never be able to apologize to Hop Pop for all the stupid things he had done that night. As the realization set in, Sprig’s chest began to ache as he silently cried, laying on a foreign bed in some unknown world.
Sprig had no idea how much time passed while he lay there crying, but eventually he heard the door creak open as Anne walked in, holding a small plate with some cake on it. Anne noticed Sprig’s condition and immediately ran over, placing the cake on the counter next to her bed.
“Hey dude, you doing okay?” Anne said, sitting down next to Sprig. Sprig quickly wiped his eyes and leaned back up.
“Sorry, was just feeling a little homesick that’s all” Sprig said, staring down at the ground. Anne placed her hand on Sprig’s shoulder and gave him a sympathetic look.
“That’s totally understandable dude, I have no idea how I would be if I was in your position” Anne said, a weak smile forming on her face.
“It’s just that, before I ended up here I got into a big argument with my grandpa Hop Pop, he was yelling at me about how irresponsible I was and I just couldn’t take it so I stormed out of the house to get some fresh air, and I just realized that I won’t be able to see him or apologize for how stupid I was. I just want to let him know how sorry I am” Sprig could barely finish his sentence before breaking down in tears again. Suddenly, Sprig felt Anne pull him over into a hug. Her warm embrace comforted the young frog as he let out all of his emotions. After a few minutes, Sprig was able to get himself calmed down a bit as Anne placed him back on the bed.
“Don’t worry dude, I’ll make sure we can find you a way home, no matter what it takes” Anne said, a determined look in her eyes. For just a moment Sprig thought he saw Anne’s eyes flash blue for a moment but he just shook it off as his head messing with him.
“Thanks Anne, I appreciate it” Sprig said, a slight smile forming on his face. Anne got up off the bed and walked over to the window. Sprig watched her, confused as to what she was doing, as she opened the window and climbed outside above it. She then leaned back down and reached her hand through the window.
“Grab on Sprig, I need to show you something” Anne said, waving her hand around. Sprig nervously got off the bed and walked over to the window. He grabbed onto Anne’s hand as she pulled him outside and onto the roof.
“I always come up here and stare at the sky whenever I need to clear my thoughts, I thought that this could also help you” Anne said, laying back on the roof and staring up at the sky. Sprig walked over to her and laid down next to her, staring up at the night sky.
“Woooowww” Sprig said in awe, as he stared at the sky for the first time. It was familiar and also different than the night sky he was used to back in Amphibia.
“So, what do you think? I doubt it’s as interesting as whatever the sky in your world looks like” Anne said.
“It’s beautiful, although it’s strange that your moon isn’t red” Sprig replied.
“Wait, your moon is red? That sounds awesome!” Anne said, leaning up to look at Sprig.
“Yeah you’d think that until it turns blue and turns you into a monster when you look at it” Sprig said, turning over to look at Anne. Anne stared at him blankly, processing what Sprig had just said, before beginning to laugh. Sprig couldn’t help but join Anne in her laughter. As the two laughed it was like the pain and sadness in Sprig’s chest was never there.
“Wow that’s crazy, your world must be awesome, sounds way cooler than this boring old place” Anne said, returning to staring up at the sky.
“I don’t know about boring, I mean I haven’t even been here for a full day and we already took down a giant Mantis by trapping it in cement! I could’ve never done something like that back at home!” Sprig said, his eyes lighting up with childlike excitement.
“Huh, I guess you’re right” Anne replied. The two returned to looking at the sky as Sprig felt his body relax. While they lay there in silence, he heard Anne mutter something next to him.
“Spranne against the world” He heard her say.
“Huh? What was that” Sprig said, looking over at Anne.
“Oh it’s nothing, it’s nothing, just a stupid little friend name I came up with for us” Anne said, clearly embarrassed. “I really should stop with those, Sasha keeps telling me they’re dumb and childish”.
“Well, I think it sounds cool” Sprig said, holding up his fist. Anne gave him a huge smile and bumped his fist with her own, before trying to continue the gesture into something a little more complicated, although it very quickly fell apart, leaving the two laughing at their failed attempt at a special handshake.
“Alright dude, we have GOT to work on our Friend Handshake sometime” Anne said, looking back up at the sky. Sprig nodded in response and looked back up at the sky. Sure, he may be trapped in another world with no way to get home that he could think of, but at least he had a friend who could help guide him through the whole ordeal.
He truly was the luckiest frog in the world.
