“You are such a good boy! The goodest boy!” Ohio said as he scratched Kotetsu’s belly. The ghost dog’s tail thumped loudly against the floor. “The goodest, spookiest ghost boy, yes you are, Kotetsu!”
Kotetsu sat up quickly, looking over at the hallway towards the bedroom, where Barnaby was now leaning against the wall with a smile. Ohio blinked. “G-g-goodest sp-sp-spookiest g-ghost boy?”
Ohio bit his lip, huffing out in laughter. “I said what I said. How long…?”
“Did you e-e-even order d-dinner?” Barnaby laughed, walking over to his boyfriend and leaning down to kiss the guilty look off his face. “ADHD-having m-m-mother fucker. S’been an h-h-hour.”
“I got distracted, okay!? Kotetsu woke up from his nap and he was so cute and I was just going to give him a couple of scritches and then…”
“Th-then you were t-t-telling him what a good sp-sp-I fucking h-hate S-P words!” Barnaby moved to sit in Ohio’s lap, speaking slowly and enunciating each syllable carefully. “Good. Spooky. Ghost. Boy. He is?”
“Y-yes?” Ohio wrapped his arms around Barnaby. “You’re not mad, are you?”
“N-no. Kotetsu is the b-b-best ghost dog. A-and you’re c-c-cute.” Barnaby scratched behind Kotetsu’s ears, then pressed a kiss to Ohio’s cheek. “But I am h-hu-hungry. So.”
“I’ll order food right now! I-” Ohio thought for a moment, then stood up while scooping Barnaby into his arms. “I’m just unwilling to let you escape from me while I do it, that okay?”
Barnaby laughed again, wrapping his legs around Ohio’s waist and burying his face in the crook of his boyfriend’s neck. “Y-y- yes , you f-f-fucker.”
