A Grieving God [Gin×Ink]

Summary:

The God of Creation had fallen inlove with a mortal. And like all God x Mortal stories go: Gin has died and Ink is Grieving.

Notes:

Hopefully this is decent as I normally write lemons (smut), I don't normally go for sad. Please give me comments on how to improve my writing.

Chapter Text

His eyes couldn't believe what he saw. No way... Gin couldn't have sacrificed himself. Ink teleported to Gin's side. Why didn't Gin let Ink get hit?

"Gin!" Ink called to his "best friend", they both knew they liked each other but never said anything as Ink's older brother's would get protective.

"Ink watch out!" Gin pulled Ink closer. The threat landing where Ink was once sitting.

Ink in a millisecond, was back to fighting the threat, he quickly tried to finish off the killer of his "best friend".

"Dammit! He got away." Ink muttered as he sat back down next to Gin, dying Gin.

"Thank you for all you've done Ink. I love you." Gin pulled Ink into a hug and kissed his forehead. "Don't give up. I know it'll be hard but you need to. The AUs need you as their protector and loving god." Gin smiled, looking down at his "best friend" who was pulled onto his lap.

"But I love you too much to lose!" Ink held Gin's dusting torso.

"Ink please. Even though I love you and you love me. Hopefully you can find someone who is better than me." Gin shifted him gaze away from Ink and into the bloody battle scene.

"Please..." Ink started crying, hot wet tears streaming down his face to his chin.

"Inky, just say you love me once..." Ink's expression saddened, Gin said he loved Ink twice and Ink hadn't said it back.

"I love you Gin. I won't fall in love though. I'll wait until I can be in your arms again to fall... Only with you I feel this feeling." Ink admitted hugging Gin tighter hoping if he held Gin tight enough he won't leave him.

"I love you too Inky." Gin kissed Ink's forehead again.

Ink felt Gin turning to dust beneath him. Gins arms slowly turning into particles of the air.

A familiar cold presence had arrived.

"Brother, please this once..." Ink pleaded to his brother in black robes.

"Ink. I loved Geno so much and I had to take him. I hurt, I would've killed myself to be reunited with Geno if I didn't have you or Cross. I can't bend rules. Gin, take my hand, it's warmer on the other side. Hotarubitale is waiting for your return." Reaper extended his hand to the dying soul.

"Goodbye Ink, I love you more than anything. Take my jacket, okay? Thank you Reaper for this." Gin took a hold of Reaper's hand, his body immediately fell apart into dust. Ink could only sob. Reaper silently stood behind Ink.

Ink grabbed Gin's jacket as he got up, his tears making the absorbent fabric darker. Ink put the jacket on as tears kept falling down his cheeks.

"Let us return, Cross is waiting for us." Reaper waiting for Ink to answer. But Ink only let out chocked sobs and harsh breaths. Reaper after getting no answer for a couple minutes had teleported them back.

Cross got up from his spot on the couch. "Hey!" Cross had been informed by Reaper of what happened when Reaper was waiting for an answer from Ink. Cross wrapped his arms around Ink.

"I have work to do." Reaper than disappeared, leaving Cross to hold his upset younger brother.

"Hey Inkling. Want to watch a movie? I can make us some hot chocolate?" Cross brought Ink over to the couch and sat him down and Cross sat down beside Ink. Ink unexpectedly started hugging Cross and babbling unintelligible words and broken sentences.

"Ink take a deep breath in." Cross was trying his best to calm the upset god. Inferno had walked in.

"What's wrong with the Inkblot?" The god of the underworld asked.

"The mortal died." Cross blankly stated.

"He's not just "The mortal" he was my best friend!" Ink kept hitting Cross.

"Okay! Okay! He's not just "The mortal"! calm down." Cross grabbed Ink's hands.

"Cross, Ink is grieving. Don't tell him to calm down, it'll make it worse." Inferno tried to keep him calm. "Ink come here." Inferno glared at Cross. Ink got up and went to Inferno, hugging him.

"Shh.. Ink let's go to your room." Inferno teleported the two into Ink's room. Ink sat on his bed.

"Thank you.." Ink managed to get out.

"Of course. You are one of my closest friends. How about you take a nap? It can help calm you down, besides you must be tired after all that crying." Inferno untangled Ink's hair gently.
