“What are you doing.”
Sam couldn’t even find it in himself to say it like an actual question as he walked through the door, he was far too used to his friend doing stuff even he couldn’t understand.
Taurtis stood in their kitchen, dorito bags piled up on the floor next to him and one on the counter, he stood over it, a glue gun and a horribly drawn “T” in his hands. The ravenette’s head snapped up when he heard Sam’s voice, and he grinned.
“Starting a new business.”
“What does that even mean?”
“We’re broke highschool kids, Sam! We need all the money we could get.”
“No-” Sam sighed. “No, Taurtis, I get that. Just why are there so many doritos?”
“Oh.” Taurtis giggled, her attention turning back to her crafts. “Easy money, I’m going to make these Toritos and sell them in school.”
“Oh my god.” The bunny hybrid groaned, running his hands over his face as his ears pinned against the back of his head. “Taurtis, you’re going to get sued.”
“They have bigger things to worry about than some kid reselling their chips.”
“The CEO literally lives in our neighborhood.”
There was silence between them, and Taurtis quietly worked on his gluing and pasting of the shitty bubble letter T.
“I forgot about that.” The ravenette mumbled, and Sam erupted into giggles, barely able to get himself under control before he spoke again. With his breath still coming out in gasp and laughs interrupting his speech, he walked over to Taurtis,
“It’s okay, I’ll keep you out of jail.”
“I know you will.” Sam didn’t have to see Taurtis’ face to recognize the others eye roll. “You’d lose your mind if I wasn’t near you.”
“Only a little.” Sam grinned, resting his head on Taurtis’ shoulder. He watched as his friend pushed the completed bag to the side and grabbed another one, as long with another bubble letter, which was drawn worse than the first one.
“You have worse attachment issues than a dog.”
“You’re a jerk.”
“I tell the truth.”
Sam snorted at the words, this time walking over to the pile of doritos on the floor.
“I’m assuming you bought this with my money?” He asked, not turning back to Taurtis.
“Our money.”
Sam raised an eyebrow, but still didn’t turn back. “It’s my money, I stole it fair and square.”
“Sureee you did.” Taurtis chuckled, and Sam fought back the urge to tell her again that yes, Sam did in fact pick-pocket most of that money. She can live in denial. “And we’re basically married, you know. Your money is my money.”
The bunny hybrid's ear shot straight up, and he thanked whatever was out there that Tuartis couldn’t see his face. “Okay, we're not married.”
“We basically are.”
“We aren’t, though, we’re not even dating.”
“We’re friend married.”
“Sure, friend married. Taurtis, next time you buy all this shit, at least tell me.”
“Vienna.”
Sam paused, confusion washed over him and he turned back to Taurtis, who froze in his spot, but still didn’t face Sam.
“...What?”
“Yeah, my name's Vienna, whose Taurtis?” Taurtis asked, turning around and…
And suddenly Sam was looking at someone just a bit shorter, with long ginger hair and a fluffy raven-blue sweater.
Sam paused, stumbling back, but he quickly composed himself, shaking his head.
“Somebody I knew. Sorry, Vie.”
“It’s alright.” Vienna re-assured, but they sounded concerned, and Sam just wished that worried tone would go away. Vie returned to their crafting, in their own kitchen, and Sam leaned up against the wall, watching his friend with narrowed red eyes.
He missed Taurtis.
