I just wanted to give thanks
You were their for the ups, downs, runarounds and all
Never boasted or laughed
Stood firm and tall like a soldier
Bested mountains of beasts the size of Goliath
Shielded me while battered and beat
Lifted me high like a trophy on my best
Switched? Never not even a doubt
So I give thanks to you the girl muttered softly.
She turned away from the mirror and gracefully
walked away.
Trudging back into the lonely world she lives.
Knowing she’s all she has. But puts her head high knowing she battled through it all and wins every single time
Sometimes we all deserve a pat on the back because life sure as hell is hard, yet we fight on
