Work Text:
A word that haunts many, it is the destruction of everything you love. It is what heroes were created for, to instill order into society, but those that know the true meaning of the word know that they won't last long, that humanity is running on borrowed time as it stays completely ignorant of the worst nightmare for humans to ever encounter, and it is all the fault of the number one hero of Japan, All Might.
During the appearance of quirks in society, it was completely chaos. People were violently starting wars left and right, and through the ashes, a man called All For One appeared. He had the ability to take and bestow quirks upon others, thus, he began gathering a loyal number of followers. He has become the demon king of Japan, with people shaking in their boots of even saying his name. He had a brother, he seemed to be quirkless and frail in stature. All For One forced a strength quirk on him to make him submit. However, he was not quirkless, he had a quirk of his own, the ability to give quirks and so the strength quirk and his quirk fused to create One For All, a power that was passed down generation to generation to an individual called All Might, the eight who finally ended All For One by shattering his skull. This was his greatest mistake.
He has stolen quirks, lots of them, millions in fact. All quirks obeys their humans individually but now, with only one human at their forefront, the quirks seemed to grow intelligent, they fight and thrash in All For One's mind, only kept in check by his immense will. The more quirks were taken, the more frail and weak All For One became as he struggled to not lose his mind, this soon culminated in the battle between All Might and All For One, while One for All was gaining power, All For One was losing control of his body. All For One at his prime would have been able to strike All Might down with a single blow, but with all his strength drained trying to hold back the violent wishes of so so many quirks, he was killed with All Might suffering a fatal injury on his stomach while All For One died with his head nowhere to be seen.
All For One's body was found and taken by Kurogiri and me, we worked day and night trying to revive him, nothing was working. One day, when we were not looking, a group of highly trained criminals broke into our facility, our guards could not stop them as they were going to take him and sell his body for a hefty price, but then, the moment the hands of four of them touched his body, they went silent. The other bandits looked at them and asked them what's wrong. Suddenly, their bodies started morphing, and it was not a pretty sight.
The first bandit, started to manifest giant barbaric weapons on his arms, his eyes turned red as his hands burned with rage-field fire, his mouth opened and screamed, shattering the glass around them and knocking everyone down. He screamed and screamed as cuts and blood spilled out across his body.
The second bandit grew tentacles, his head grew multiple eyes, or were they mouths? It became hard to focus on him without going dizzy, three tendrils sprouted from his back and undulated to form an infinity symbol, it smiled a grin so humongous that I believed it was physically impossible without a transformation or mutant quirk.
The third bandit bloated like a balloon, his skin turned green as organs began to spill out, yet he did not seem to be in pain, in fact, he seemed to be relieved, his arms grew stuffier as flies across the rooms darted towards him and began flying over him, his face mutated into a horrifying sight. His smell made me vomit.
The fourth bandit tore off his own clothes, he grew two more arms and she sported three breasts, how is that possible? A grey crown manifested on top of her head as a large tongue sprouted from her mouth the size of a snake. The fingers were replaced by crab claws as they clicked and aimed at them.
The first bandit screamed words that would haunt the rest of my life as the base erupted with violence.
"BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULLS THRONE!"
Line break
I have recovered from this event 5 years ago. The birth of something so horrifying that it would make the worst villains the world has to offer begging for salvation. I have researched on quirks more extensively. Quirks, as said before, obey their humans, but when the quirk's wants start to override the willpower, they began to become more intelligent. This was the case for this event. All For One's died, but his quirks did not. They persisted in his body, they seemed to have created clans against each other in the bodies of the man and transferred over to the four bandits.
The four bandits have escaped, they with new quirks massacred the remaining bandits and left us. The heroes were on the scene but they were not able to decipher what occurred here and I hope they never will, for I have done research on the subject matter, and good news would be the last thing I would use to describe them.
They called themselves "Chaos", a name that would seem to be too broad of a term but for them, it fits perfectly. There are 4 Chaos factions, each let by extremely influential beings called "Chaos Gods". They cannot be physically harmed for they are a collection of extremely potent quirks bonded together into an uncanny mental substance. They know quirks better than we humans and know how to tinker with them, and so, many of those under their faction often have their quirks modified or sometimes, even replicated for others. The process to do this requires the use of human sacrifices, usually, one is enough to create around 50 beta-quirks, these are quirks but they are downgraded and don't hold much sentience or can e cultivated to have unless they are merged. How a normal human joins Chaos is from joining their cults and worshipping the god, often doing egregious acts to please them and be blessed.
The Chaos Gods can convert and blend quirks together to create beings that will materialize into existence alongside the followers, these were called Daemons, literal foot soldiers used by the Chaos Gods to cause as much of what their god desired. It usually takes around 7 beta-quirks to create 1 average Daemons, but their big counterparts, the Greater Daemons, can take between 500 beta-quirks to produce, their quality hinges on how many quirks are sacrificed, how dedicated and how much they trained.
They have established a realm in the mental plane called "The Realms of Chaos", it works similarly to the realm of One For All, but instead of containing the minds of powerful and seemingly noble people maintained by their willpower, it contains the worst nightmares and dreams humans can ever conjure held up by the mental willpower of both humans and quirks, I have connected some of my men to the realm and they completely lost their minds, Daemons can seemingly possess or persuade quirks to their side, creating a corrupted quirk, a gateway to The Realms of Chaos, for Daemons to enter existence. Nothing seems to be able to halt this tear in reality other than death. The more Chaos expands, the more larger the Realms of Chaos becomes and allowing more Daemons to be conjured.
The first Chaos God calls himself Khorne, the god of war and rage.
Many who follow him have pent-up frustrations or desires to hurt and they are free to do so under Khorne, for he does not care where the blood flows from, just that it does. Blood for the Blood God and Skulls for the Skull throne. his followers will hurt, maim and kill all who stands in their way, especially powerful foes such as the top heroes. He is by far, the most straight-forward of the four, preferring to put his cults out in the open rather than hidden like the other three, thus, most of the cults destroyed and spread were Khorne. The heroes are wildly confused at why people would join such a cult and many others think the same.
An example of how Khorne operates is the many events of his followers taking to the streets and causing a massacre, they are usually detained very quickly but when the Greater Daemons arrive, it usually dissolves into a bloodbath. Many heroes and detectives have worked on deciphering who spreads this religion, finding absolutely nothing. His Daemons ar enumerous and seem to be the most numerous and physically strong out of the four, like their god.
However, Khorne also symbolizes the Honour and Courage. His followers will get a permanent strong morale boost and will not purposefully strike down those weaker than them, they do not hate them, they just need to keep the blood running after all, in Khorne's eyes, survival of the fittest is the only rule. He will not tolerate any cowardice and will be quick to punish those that do, it is what happened with the daemon Skarbrand. He is also very hateful towards mental quirks, they seem cowardly to him and so, Khorne followers and Daemons will have an unnatural amount of resistance to many mental quirks, such examples are Hitoshi Shinsou's brainwashing.
The second Chaos God calls himself Tzeentch, the god of change and evolution.
The Changer of Ways is the most mysterious and virtually, most powerful of the four. Khorne loathes Tzeentch for he is a coward, cowardice is a natural part of life for Tzeentch's followers with them hiding and cunningly planning with the heroes not even hearing of the God's name. Tzeentch is complex eldritch, his followers can foresee futures that branch out towards infinity and Tzeentch himself has seen the future a few million times and so, winning against him is practically impossible.
Tzeentch is the most unpredictable out of the gods, his visions of the past, present and future are not absolute and branches off to unknowing but probable futures of prosperity and extinction of mankind. He has won the great game of civilisation and so, he prods and twists fate to suite his own liking by doing seemingly random or even idiotic moves to reach his completely nonsensical or extremely influential goals.
An example of this is when his daemons ignited a civil war between Yakuza and before the heroes could contain them, 5 neighbourhoods were destroyed. The causalities were 20 dead and 96 injured. The goal of this, believe it or not, was for the destruction of a lemonade stand as Tzeentch was annoyed by it and so, he orchestrated an entire scheme, wasted so many troops, cause a big ruckus of distrust between heroes and civilians all because he wants to destroy a fucking lemonade stand.
When humans decided to follow Tzeentch, their fates are a coin flip. They could end with vast amounts of wealth and attractive physique, or get turned into a miserable chaos-spawn, beasts that wander around in endless suffering, all depending on Tzeentch's mood and plans. He is by far, the most easy to fall into in terms of your average citizen for he has seen it all. Information around him is lacking as he is the most unknown among the four, and thus, is the most feared.
The third Chaos God calls himself Nurgle, the god of diseases and decay.
Nurgle has the most followers of the four Chaos Gods and thus , he is the one we know most about. His followers are bloated diseased individuals who are completely fatal to touch to any normal person. Nurgle 's main attack are his diseases that he creates, they are easy to decipher but there are so many that it would be a waste of resources trying to cure any of it, hazmat suits are required. Tzeentch loathes Nurgle for where the first represents Change, the latter represents stagnation.
He is very different to his brothers. While the other Gods fight for power or glory, Nurgle is a peace-loving and will accept anyone into his arms. Many individuals shunned by Hero Society find comfort in the only community that would accept them, the community of Nurgle's garden where many live a life of pure happiness and bliss in the deep forests of Japan. I have managed to interview one of their followers of my own and the most notable quote is,
"We are happy, why? Because of the relief, relief that we someone accepts us, people that understands what it is like, to be treated as a monster just because you have a 'villainous quirk'. Here, I feel relief as this is it. This is all my life is ever going to be, and me and my daughter accept that. "
Nurgle himself, thinks of himself as a hero, who gives gifts towards the world, gifts of incurable diseases and filth, it is clear that he has an incredibly warped sense of view of what 'good' is, his followers will suicidally defend their homes and will stop at nothing until the invaders leave. Heroes are slowly realizing their location and soon, Nurgle will be revealed and he is not above offering a truce, although society will take it very well.
Images must be censored to prevent more cults to sprout.
Slaanesh is the most disturbing of the four Chaos Gods, according to myself. The prince of pleasure's cults are the hardest to track aside from Tzeentch as it is hard to distinguish them from normal orgy parties, at least, at first. His followers start off having the time of their lives but slowly but surely, their morals degrade until they become shell of what was once a human. They are the lowest degenerates and reading some of what they have done has haunted me for many months.
However, Slaanesh followers seem to perfect their work and the results speak for themselves, warriors will find themselves wanting to perfect their techniques, artists perfect their art, and thus, they are the least numerous but the most effective in skill. Slaanesh benefits like a leech, whatever extreme emotion felt by other God's followers will also benefit Slaanesh. This results in the other 3 despising Slaanesh but they are often too busy to deal with him.
Each Chaos God can appoint a human to be their 'Daemon Prince', a human so powerful that it would take a top ten hero to take them down. They are hosts and the blob of quirks that is the Chaos Gods mainly resided in them. However, if a Daemon Prince were to be killed, A Chaos God will just manifest in another body, as long as people worship them, they will never truly die and it doe snot seem any of the cults are going away soon.
Chaos is a rot in Villain society as true villains are becoming more and more scarce, examples include the Meta-Liberation army, once a proud and powerful hidden organisation led by Redestro, descendant of Destro who started the movement in the first place, has collapsed. The army of 116,516 warriors began to take darker turns and one by one, began falling into the Chaos Gods. Redestro found out too late and now, it is a dying organisation only held together by the promise of liberation and it is slowly failing as the city of Deika started to be consumed by Chaos riots of Khorne, Tzeentch's forces stay hidden, Nurgle followers leaving and Slaanesh's debauchery leads to exile.
Heroes are starting to get affected, Endeavor, the number two hero has seemed to be more influenced by Slaanesh to perfect and master his quirk to be able to topple over his rival, All Might, slowly dragged into the abyss alongside many others.
Tomura Shigaraki, grandson of nana Shimura had been taken interest of the lord of Change, Tzeentch. he has been raised into an unstable manchild, what terrifies me is the fact that it is intentional as he has never stopped smiling, at least, what a smiling looks like from a Daemon Prince. The physical forms of the Chaos Gods are unknown, the illustrations above are mere art commissions taken from information taken from many followers of Chaos. Tzeentch has not corrupted him with Chaos as he intends to use Shigaraki to unify Chaos and strike down japan and the rest of the world, create the faction known as "Chaos Undivided", an organised Chaos army so vast that not even All Might or the military would be able to take them on.
The rest of the world has also been contaminated with Chaos as a large Khorne cult led by Daemon Prince Kharn is growing in the United States of America, Nurgle villages spreading across many forests of Amazon, Slaanesh cults manifesting in the homes of the wealthy across the world and Tzeentch's cults led by Daemon Prince Fateweaver spreading across China. The world is in a dire situation and they don't even know it, I pity them. Even if I would tell them they would brush me as a madman and continue on.
For not all men are created equal, and because of that, there will never be peace among humanity, only the laughter of thirsting Gods.
- Doctor Kyudai Garaki
