Purest Hallucinations

Chapter Text

Marinette was backing away slowly as her prince, her charming chaton, came forwards. He kept moving closer each metallic step marking the time to her death and making her think of something from a timeline that could've gone differently.

. . . step . . .

Her friends came to mind, destroyed, frozen.

. . . step . . .

Her family, dead, turned to stone.

. . . step . . .

Her city, submerged, drowning in water, sweat, and tears.

. . . step . . .

Her love, torn from her heart, stepping forwards to kill her.

. . . step . . .

Chat Blanc grabbed her neck and held her over the fallen Eiffel Tower. Marinette could feel warm blood trickling down her neck as her amoureux's claws dug into her flesh. Her heart pounded as she could feel the freezing orb of destruction pulse in her minou's other clawed, gloved, hand. "Now Princess, just hand over your miraculous, and we can love each other like we used to." His cold voice hissed out in her ear. Every instinct she had was screaming at her to deny everything, to say that she never used a miraculous before, but her heart told her to pretend, just pretend she didn't have the ladybug.

Wait . . . did she have the ladybug? Marinette knew there was something a miss about her appearance . . . she thought hard and fast into this . . . her earrings! She couldn't feel the familiar weight of her beloved jewels, her miraculous, anywhere on her. Tears started streaming down her face, emulsing with the blood as she chocked out "I-I-I-I don't have any miraculous on me . . ." and even through her blurred and misty vision she could see icy, cold, blue eyes staring back at her, a look of disappointment in them. "I thought you loved me, Princess" his voice sobbed out. "Oh my Prince, of course I love you minou, I just -" her voice soothed, taking pity on the poor cat. "If you loved me then you'd let us be together." He screamed, cutting her off before continuing in a collected manner "If you loved me, then you would let us be together, but if you won't, we will no longer be together. . . goodbye Marinette.".

Marinette felt frozen, gasping for air as an icy web grew over her body, rendering her ashes as her body fell, turning to dust as she hit the streets.

Marinette woke up

Gasping for air, she felt her tears flowing down to where her prince's claws were dug into her skin, and she cried to herself 'till dawn since eleven o'clock at night.
