Chapter Text
“Remember Agent, Saint ain’t kind, he will do anything in his power to murder you. Don’t let him win,” Agent Kelso told me as we we’re getting ready to deal with his henchmen. We got out our drones and started to fire. His henchmen were strong but we were stronger. We got through the waves of enemies then Saint came out, a big fucking tank.
Kelso distracted him from the front and I got him from the back. He nearly killed me but we got him. We finished off the rest and soon got to Eleanor but we then saw another person in there… A bit of an older man, off in the corner all bloodied and scarred.
“I thought there was only one… Runaway, we can’t take him, we don’t know who he is and if he’s a trap,” Kelso said, then going to check on Eleanor. I looked at the man one last time, seeing someone in fear. They probably got into a situation with these guys and didn’t know what to do. I walked closer and he was crawling away.
“Sir, just hold on a second. We’re here to help you. We don’t mean harm,” I said, Kelso rebutting, “Runaway! We can’t take him in, we are putting ourselves-”
“Kelso, I don’t give a shit! This man needs help. If he was dangerous, he wouldn’t be this fucking bloody. Besides, his arm is cut badly…” I looked at his arm, all covered in bloody bandages that were put on quickly with little care.
“Kelso, I will take care of this man and if he dares hurt or kill me, I take full responsibility,” I said. She hummed annoyingly in agreement.
“Fine. You will deal with the enemies downstairs and then you can take the poor man.” I agreed to it and dealt with the enemies rather quickly. Once we were cleared, Kelso went back to the Theatre Settlement and I went upstairs. The man was still there, petrified. I slowly sat down with him and took out a water bottle. I gave him some and was thankful for it. I got out a medkit to help with his arm and after a bit, it was looking much better than before. I started to pack up to help him out of here.
“Thank you…” the man said, quietly.
“No problem, let me help you up,” I said. We were soon up and walking to the elevator.
“Hey… My name is Bardon Schaeffer.”
“Heh, my codename is Runaway.”
