Beomgyu groaned as he tried to sit up, but the pain was too much, and he found himself sinking back into the mattress. He looked up at Yeonjun, who was standing at the edge of the bed with a stern look on his face.
"You're lucky I was nearby when it happened," Yeonjun said, his voice sharp with anger. "What were you thinking, going out there by yourself like that?"
Beomgyu winced at the tone in Yeonjun's voice. He knew he deserved it—he had been reckless and he had gotten hurt. But he still couldn't help feeling a little hurt by the way Yeonjun was talking to him.
"I had to do something," he said, his voice weak. "I couldn't just sit back and do nothing."
Yeonjun sighed and shook his head, his expression softening slightly. "I know you're brave, Beomgyu, but sometimes bravery is stupid," he said, his voice a little gentler now.
Beomgyu was about to argue when Yeonjun leaned in, his hands gentle as he started to clean Beomgyu's wounds. Despite the sharp pain, Beomgyu couldn't help but feel comforted by Yeonjun's touch.
"I shouldn't have to keep picking you up after your foolishness," Yeonjun murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "But I'll always be here, even when you don't deserve it."
Beomgyu's heart ached at the words, and he couldn't help but reach out and take Yeonjun's hand. "I'm sorry," he said, his voice barely audible.
Yeonjun looked up at him, his eyes softening even more. "I know," he said, his voice gentle. "Just promise me you'll be more careful next time."
Beomgyu nodded, and for a moment, they just looked at each other, the tension between them almost palpable. Wasn't Yeonjun supposed to be his enemy? But then why did he feel like Yeonjun was the only person in the world who truly understood him?
As the moments stretched on, Yeonjun leaned in, his lips brushing against Beomgyu's, and for a moment, all thoughts of enemies and tension were forgotten. All that mattered was the feeling of Yeonjun's lips against his and the way his heart felt like it was about to burst.
They parted, both of them breathless, and Yeonjun chuckled softly. "I guess this proves that sometimes enemies can become something more," he said, a small smile playing on his lips.
Beomgyu smiled back, his heart overflowing with emotions he couldn't quite name yet. "I guess it does," he said, his voice soft.
As Yeonjun leaned in to kiss him again, Beomgyu couldn't help but think that maybe, just maybe, this was the start of something beautiful.
