His eyes blinked at the white-haired beauty in front of him. Yoo Joonghyuk swallowed his own saliva, his throat suddenly felt like a desert with how dry it became after hearing what he just heard from Lee Seolhwa's perpetually reddened lips.
He smacks his own lips together, licking them, it's dryer than his throat.
"... Repeat that, what you have said. Just now..." He eventually muttered.
Lee Seolhwa smiled at him, somehow amused at his reaction as she reached out to hold him by the hand and runs her thumb on his scarred knuckle. Comforting his nerve.
"Joonghyuk-ssi, I personally congratulate you and your mate, I am also happy to tell you that you are 12 weeks pregnant." She told him softly. And...
Yoo Joonghyuk simply stared dumbly at the doctor, seemingly not understanding what she's saying. He... He wants to ask how but he hated being asked that same question. It pissed him off if people asked him that, sure. Kim Dokja and him have sex more than once---more than he can count. And he enjoys being at the receiving end more if he has to admit but he'll never admit it to anyone.
He frown. "I'm an Alpha... So---"
"Ah. It's always a misconception that Alphas cannot get pregnant, they can. It's rare but not entirely impossible. It is although, a sensitive pregnancy since an Alpha's body--- isn't regulated to carry a womb despite having one. But truth to be told... An Alpha being pregnant, more often than not. Could lead to miscarriage but other times, the baby is born the healthiest." She explained. "I understand if you are scared of the changes that can happen but don't worry... It's going to be alright, after all children are blessings. " Lee Seolhwa smiled while patting his shoulder.
He looks at her, his eyes trembling with solemn. Yoo Joonghyuk's hand hesitantly touch his stomach, it would grow soon... He's not afraid of the changes in his body, if it helps develop this child that had sprouted inside him, he would sacrifice everything he can. He's not afraid of that rather...
It's not the first time he's having a child... And he lost it even before it was born. He's scared of that happening especially he is the one carrying it, he cannot be reckless... Now that he will live for the two of them... With the stupid father nowhere in sight for almost 3 months now. It was a miracle this even survive---he is glad it survive after those happenings...
"I need your help with this... Pregnancy..." He said sounding a little bit more determine.
The doctor smiled sweetly. "I'm not an OB-gyn but I'll try my best in taking care of you, Joonghyuk-ssi."
"Also, don't tell anyone, especially Han Sooyoung." He adds. He didn't want to be pestered by her... He should tell Lee Sookyung, but they have this mother in law who doesn't like her son in law. Keep it till you make it.
"Patient confidentiality." She assured.
[Midday Tryst is activated]
-Kim Dokja, I am going to cut you when we meet.
