February 14, 2018

A man tied up in a dark room slowly gained consciousness as he became aware of his surroundings. In a panic, he looks around to try and find anything that he could possibly use to get him out.

A playful laugh suddenly erupts from behind the chair causing him to freeze in fear. "Man, to think we let such a pansy in Toman."

Loud footsteps stalked around the chair, revealing a short male. The tied man's breath hitched in his throat as he saw the head of a snake poke out from the other's dress shirt.

"Well," Yūki pulled his hair into a quick ponytail, not caring that the elastic was about to break. "At least you weren't too important, or that would have made us look bad." He mumbled.

The terrified male flinched as Yūki bent down so that their noses almost touched. He stared into Yūki's mismatched eyes, afraid that if he looked away, he would be met with a gruesome death.

Yūki smiled as he saw the fear in the man's eyes. He quickly took a step back and tilted his head. "I'll give you an option. You see, I have a date tonight, but you just had to turn against us near Valentine’s. So to make this go fast, pick." The man looked up at Yūki in confusion. "Knife or gun."

The male's face visibly paled in the dark room before he shouted. "Gun, gun!! I pick the gun!"

Yūki only smiled at the man as he patted his pockets looking for something that was obviously not there. "Looks like I forgot it." Though his lips turned to a frown, the excitement and bloodlust still clear as day in his eyes.

"W-wait!" Yūki slowly inched his way toward the man. "You said I could pick..!"

Yūki stopped for a moment before he let out a loud and patronizing laugh. "Why the fuck would I let a traitorous, son-of-a-bitch pick anything!" Yūki once again got in the male's face. "You knew you were dead the day you decided to try and rat us out!"

Yūki quickly glanced down at his watch. "Tch, we only have an hour left." He mumbled. "Welp, let's get this over with."

As Yūki left the dark room, all of the nearby guards quickly looked away. "Call the cleanup guys, it's a bit messy in there." Yūki said with a smile.

Yūki looked down at his watch one last time only to see he was ten minutes late. 'FUCK!' Yūki proceeded to sprint out of the building and jump into the car that was waiting for him. "Penthouse, now!" Yūki yelled at the frightened driver.

Yūki anxiously tapped his foot on the floor of the car as the car drove. Suddenly his phone rang causing him to let out a stream of curses.

He took a deep breath before answering. "Sorry, I'll be there in just a few minutes. I got caught up in... traffic. Ya, traffic's really bad right now." Yūki tried to sound convincing as he looked at the almost empty streets.

Kisaki sighed as he looked up at Hanma. "So if I were to look outside right now, I would see the streets filled?" Hanma only chuckled and shook his head as he heard this.

"What? After all these years, after all we've been through, you still don't trust me?" Yūki smiled as he saw their penthouse in the distance.

Kisaki only stayed silent which caused Yūki to grow nervous. After a minute of silence, he finally cracked. "OK, fine, maybe I got a little carried away earlier. But it's not my fault he chose gun!"

Yūki was once again met with silence with the occasional chuckles from Hanma. He lightly sighed as he grew closer to the building. "You guys can start eating, I'll be up there in about ten minutes." He then hung up, already dreading the disappointed look he was bound to get from Kisaki.

When the driver finally pulled up to the building, Yūki swiftly got out of the car and rushed to the elevator. As he watched the numbers slowly tick up, his hand made its way to his pocket, so he could make sure the two small boxes were still there.

Shortly after, the elevator doors opened revealing an extravagant apartment. Taking off his shoes, Yūki called out toward the dining room. "Hey, I'm back. You can yell at me later, I'm starving."

Kisaki and Hanma watched Yūki enter their dining room only to deadpan. Yūki's once white dress shirt was unbuttoned and soaked with blood. His long hair sprawled over his shoulders, most of it damp with blood and sweat. The bloodlust in his eyes subsiding the longer he looked at the two.

"Didn't I tell you guys to eat without me?" Yūki looked down at the still full plates, not realizing that the food was different from what their chef usually made.

"We wanted to see your reaction when you found out." Hanma answered before he began eating.

Yūki squinted his eyes toward the food then back at the other two. They refused to look at him as he slowly put his chopsticks in the bowl of udon. "Before you kill me, here." Yūki tossed the two boxes to their respective person. "Open them when I tell you two. Or when I die, ‘cause I don't trust this."

Kisaki and Hanma caught the box and lightly blushed as they realized they were both thrown a ring box. Hanma brought his up to his ear and shook it, trying to hear if it was a ring or not. Kisaki just placed his down and continued eating, glancing between the box and Yūki every so often.

When Yūki ate out of his bowl, his eyes went wide before he quickly devoured it all in a matter of minutes. "I thought that old lady died?!" He yelled before reaching for another bowl.

"She did." Kisaki answered with a small smile as he watched Yūki quickly eat his next bowl. "Turns out an employee memorized how she made it since most of their customers came for her food."

Hanma grinned as he watched Yūki, glancing down at the box when he finished his bowl. "So what's in-"

"This-" Yūki loudly drank the spicy broth from his bowl before he finished. "This is why I love you guys." He slumped back in his seat as he chugged his glass that was full of wine. "I've been craving that shit since she died."

Yūki looked at both of his boyfriends. He still wasn't used to calling them that, still brainwashed by Japanese culture to believe that their love was taboo. Maybe it was, but he didn't care. He killed people almost daily, so if loving two men was against the law, then he would definitely continue to be the criminal he was.

"I'm going to go take a shower and call the maid to come in the morning." Yūki got up with a stretch before looking back at the two still sitting. "Find something to watch when you're done, we don't have anything important going on in the morning, so we can just chill." He sent a rare smile at them before leaving for the shower.

When they heard the bathroom door close, Hanma turned toward Kisaki. "Should we open them?" He asked with a smirk, holding up his ring box. "He did leave, so it should be fine, right?"

Kisaki ignored Hanma as he collected all of the dishes off of the table to bring into the kitchen. As the tall male followed him, still pestering him about the boxes, Kisaki angrily glared at him. "I don't care what you do Hanma." He turned back around to head to the living room.

"How dull." Hanma muttered. "This is why we never got together, you got boring." He fell back onto the couch, leaving a space between them for Yūki.

Kisaki just rolled his eyes as he got comfortable and started to look for a movie. "Or it was the fact I said no. And it probably isn't even a ring, he's pranked us before."

Hanma scoffed at this and proceeded to open his box. If he was honest, he was expecting another prank like Yūki had done time and time before. But as he stared at the black and gold ring, he could help but smile.

"You should probably look at yours before he forgets again." Hanma said while closing the box, a content smile still plastered on his face.

Kisaki sighed in annoyance as he paused the movie to reach into his pocket and pulled out his box. He gave Hanma an annoyed look before he opened it.

Gleaming up at him sat a black and silver ring. He stared at it for a moment, speechless as a light blush found its way to his cheeks. He quickly hid the box though, when he heard the bathroom door open.

"I'll be in there in just a moment!" Yūki yelled from the hallway before he entered his room.

Kisaki slowly looked up at Hanma who had the same pleased expression. "How does he just forget about this?" Kisaki whispered, only to get a shrug in return.

Kisaki unbuttoned the top of his shirt, suddenly feeling hot as his mind ran wild. 'What if we're looking too deep into this? They could just be regular rings with no significance at all.... But what if they are?'

His thoughts were stopped as he felt a sudden the back of the couch give. Yūki was leaning on the back of the couch, leaning in so his face was in-between Hanma and Kisaki.

"What movie did you pick?" Yūki asked, looking at the TV which was paused on a blurred image.

Hanma chuckled as he realized that Yūki actually did forget about the rings. "Sit down and you'll see."

Yūki casually leapt over the couch and sat in between the two. Kisaki shook his head as he turned on the movie.

As they watched in silence, Yūki quickly realized that they had put on SAW, one of the few movies the three of them could always agree on.

Without looking away from the movie, Yūki began talking. "Oh this reminds me, that guy who tried to rat us out. Ya, he's dead so we don't have to worry about him anymore." The other two could only internally sigh as they thought Yūki was about to mention the rings.

After a while longer, Hanma grew tired of waiting. "Yūkichi, can we open the boxes now?"

Yūki quickly sat up and looked between the two. "Shit, did you guys look at it already?!"

"Nope/No." The two quickly answered.

Yūki breathed out a sigh of relief and looked at them with a large smile. "OK, then open them."

Kisaki and Hanma quickly opened their boxes and put on the ring. Yūki only laughed at this since it was obvious that they both knew about the rings already.

"What're these for?" Kisaki asked, still doubting that they have any significance.

Yūki was silent for a moment as he looked at both of his lovers' hands. "I guess their engagement rings? Or promise rings more specifically." He reached into his own pocket and pulled out a black, gold, and silver ring. As he put it on his ring finger he smiled up at the two. "If we ever get a break, we can go to America. I heard they're now allowing gay people to get married."

Hanma's cheeks and ears were almost a bright red as he looked down into Yūki's eyes. Eyes that always seemed to drag him under the deep pools of green and blue, eyes that always seemed to drown him in excitement.

Kisaki was in a similar situation, though he was a much deeper shade of red. On the outside, Kisaki remained stoic as he looked down at his and Yūki's hands. On the inside however, his mind was going a mile a minute, from hoping this wasn't a dream, to taking in every detail. He would be lying if he said he was completely over Hina, but at the same time, he feels as if her death was a mere stepping stone for his happiness.

As he took one last glance at his ring, he could help but smile. "You know, you can only get married to one person in America, right?" Kisaki asked as he glanced into Yūki's eyes.

Yūki was silent for a moment as he stared at his own ring. "Shit!" He looked up at the ceiling, seeming to be frustrated and angry at the fact he overlooked that.

Kisaki was about to say something when Yūki let out a groan. "There goes my plan of seeing you two in a dress." He dramatically sighed as he collapsed on Kisaki, putting his legs on Hanma's lap. "I guess we can still be together. To think, all of this planning, just for all of it to go down the drain."

Hanma laughed at this. "Who said we'd be the one wearing the dress, Short-stack. You even have the hair for it." He teased, watching Kisaki comb his fingers through Yūki's hair.

"Ya, you both would just love to see that, wouldn't you?" Yūki teased back, leaning closer into Kisaki's hand.

The three of them stayed like that the rest of the night and early into the morning, only to get woken up by the maid. They all wished they could stay like that, feeling as if their life could never get any more perfect. But what they didn't know was that somewhere in their past, someone was changing their perfect future for his own selfish vendetta. Someone who was never very fond of the three of them.
