Welcome to the first WC Rarepairs anniversary review! It's been a year since this collection started, and as promised we have the statistics you didn't ask for but are going to get anyway.
Firstly, thank you to everybody who has participated in the collection so far! Whether you've written fanfic, posted a prompt, fulfilled a prompt, or otherwise supported creators -- thank you so much! This collection is a community project, and we appreciate everyone who has contributed.
We've updated the spreadsheet to include the latest number of works per rarepair, as well as moved graduated rarepairs into their own tab and added new rarepairs with tags.
Overview
Since we began, a total of 47 works have been added to the collection, either due to fulfilling a collection prompt or by the creator.
The collection has a total of 47 prompts, with many being claimed or fulfilled over the year. These will remain until they're deleted by the prompter.
In February 2022, our list of rarepairs had a total of 559 pairings, with 552 works on AO3. As of February 2023, the list has grown to include 717 pairings with a total 958 works.
That's over 400 works made in the past year and 161 more pairings!
There are currently 141 F/F rarepairs, 155 M/M rarepairs, 330 F/M rareships, and 85 polyamorous rarepairs.
Spreadsheet Update
The spreadsheet has now been updated with the full list of rarepairs, which gives us some great statistics! We've also added some new columns.
There are now 6 Character columns to include as many polyamorous pairings as possible, as well as a Ship Dynamics column sorting pairings by category.
You can now see how many works there were in 2022 as well as 2023. We've moved the Works (2022) Column to the end to keep it out of the way while showing progression!
The Graduated Pairs tab on the spreadsheet now has content and you can see the progression of pairings from 2022 to 2023.
Graduated Ships
Congratulations to the ships that passed 10 works this year! Thanks to your contributions, the following 15 ships are no longer classed as rarepairs in our collection.
