Work Text:
It was a cloudy day. The smell of rain filled the atmosphere, you didn’t need to be very observant to know there was a high chance of rain.
That was the view outside the windows of this small local café.
Reo rested his head against his hand that was curled into a fist. His coffee next to him untouched, the steam rising from the top slowly becoming less and less as it cooled down.
His day had already been— well— less than good. Far worse than that his day had been terrible. He’d had the definition of a bad day.
It was as if the clouds were there to spite him, like in cartoons when the rain clouds would follow the characters who have had a bad day.
At least Chigiri Hyoma, who sat across from him, was having a great day. He held his hand over his face as he broke out into hysterical laughter.
“Hyoma…” Kunigami nudged his shoulder, as he watched a flame ignite in the less than pleased Reo’s eyes.
“Reo!” He hit the table as he said his name, his voice drowned in laughter, he was almost on the verge of tears, “Reo! I swear—you get stupider everytime I see you!”
“This isn’t funny!” Reo hissed, “If you’re going to make fun of me at least give me advice!”
“Yeah—I will—just need a minute.” Chigiri replied, he was completely out of breath, still giggling and panting as he spoke.
“It’s not that funny.”
“I mean Reo, you did mess up pretty badly.”
“ Pretty doesn’t even come close to how bad you fucked up.” Chigiri chimed in, “Any chance you had is probably buried six-feet under.” He’d finally began to calm himself down from the fit of laughter he had erupted into only a few minutes prior.
“You’re not helping.” Reo sulked, he buried his face into his hands.
How did I get in this situation?
Reo couldn’t forget it. He could never forget, especially with Chigiri laughing in his face about it.
..
It all began earlier that day when Nagi and him were practicing after-school as usual.
Nagi had given up and collapsed on the ground after making plenty of goals and doing far too many laps around the field. He was exhausted, and refused to get up even when Reo asked him to do just one more lap with him.
Reo finished the lap but this time alone, and he took a seat next to Nagi who was lying in the grass. He was on his back, his eyes closed shut, as he looked up at the sky.
Valentine’s Day is only a few days away, and Reo has finally gained the courage to express his feelings towards Nagi, by asking him to be his Valentine.
Reo ruffled his hair and began to play with it affectionately.
“You did great today, Nagi!” He complimented, a wide smile across his face. The sun was setting making the clouds in the sky look beautiful , they were different shades of oranges and pinks, and even a few purples.
“Soccer is a hassle, Reo… I’m so tired now. I could fall asleep right here if I wanted.” He mumbled. It was barely audible.
He sat up slightly and moved his head into Reo’s lap, “Let me know when Ba-ya gets here.”
Reo could feel the heat rush to his cheeks.
This was his chance, the only opportunity he was going to have today to ask Nagi to be his .
“Hey…Nagi.”
“Hm?”
“Would you want to be my boyfriend—or, uh, Valentine…”
The silence only grew louder as Nagi’s mouth remained shut.
When he didn’t get a response after a few seconds he began speaking again, “.., fake ! Fake boyfriend of course!”
“Huh?”
“Y’know…the stuff with my parents trying to get me in a relationship so they get a Mikage Heir! and stuff—a relationship would take me away from you—and soccer, and I’d hate that, I want to go all the way and win the World Cup with you.”
“Yeah, but why me ?”
“Silly Nagi, I won’t get taken away from you if I’m dating you.” He said with a wink and an awkward laugh.
“Okay then. I’ll be your boyfriend, Reo.”
Reo continued to laugh awkwardly, “ Fake boyfriend, we’ll spend Valentine's day together! You can meet my parents and stuff so they stop giving me trouble.”
..
Reo continued to sulk as that moment played in his head over and over again.
His parents were far from easy to impress, Reo swears, what he does isn’t enough sometimes, he’s unbelievably worried about what they’re going to say to Nagi.
“What if they say terrible things about him, and he never wants to see me again?!” Reo asked, he continued to overthink, bringing so many worries he didn’t know he had to the surface, “I don’t know what’d I do if I lost Nagi, he is my treasure , after all.”
“You are disgusting.” Chigiri gagged, “Worse than us, and we’re actually official.”
“Reo. We’d love to give you advice, but y’know, neither of us have made the mistake of confessing then writing it off as fake before.”
Reo knew there wasn’t much they could do. I mean this was the most idiotic and biggest mistake he’s ever made.
“How did he even agree?” Chigiri brought himself back into a laughing fit, “That’s such a weird request I’d think you’re crazed!”
Kunigami had tried to keep a straight face as to not make Reo feel worse, but that poker face soon became a smile and a few low chuckles.
“I hate you both sometimes.”
“This can be terrible for you and Nagi’s relationship, y'know? I mean what are you going to do? When do you break up? What do you do after you break up ? Wouldn’t your parents be suspicious ?”
Fuck . Reo didn’t think that far in the moment. He wished he could go back and undo everything he had said to Nagi earlier.
Reo tried to push those thoughts down, and solve that for when the time comes, instead he needed to make this relationship believable while it lasted.
“I just don’t want my parents to see through the lie.”
“I heavily doubt that. You two act like a couple, y’know how many girls have come up to me while we’re out asking me, is the purple-haired one gay? I really want his number.”
Reo’s eyes widened, “…Really?”
“God. You are so fucking oblivous. You guys are all over each other, and you call him your treasure, you guys are like the gross pda couples that show way too much affection.”
“Mm… what things do you guys do for dates—or like “couply” stuff, but it also has to be doable at home?”
“Hm? Movie nights, cooking or baking together, Rensuke will do my hair sometimes just for fun, but most of the time we go out.” Chigiri said, “But with Nagi it’ll definitely be different, I mean, he thinks most things are a hassle. Plus, he’s really into video-games so you can definitely incorporate that.”
This was the first time today Chigiri had given Reo actual advice.
“For acting like a couple, you guys should definitely do more than what you do now.” Kunigami chimed in, “Hand holding, more hugs than the celebrations on the field, cheek kisses, since I doubt you’d want to kiss him on the lips, he is your fake boyfriend remember that, but you don’t need to go overboard. Showing affection often like you do now is probably good enough.”
“Thank you guys! See how much better this is when you aren’t making fun of me!”
“Disagree. You’re fun to tease.” Chigiri grinned, “I’d hate to see you sulk over losing Nagi, so I hope everything goes well.”
Kunigami nodded his head.
“Best of luck tomorrow.”
Reo nodded his head thanking the two before he left to go home. He really needed a full night of rest.
He was definitely less stressed than before.
..
Reo woke up early the next morning. He still had school before his Valentine’s Day Date with Nagi later, but Hakuho was practically a battlefield on Valentine's Day.
That was an over exaggeration— well— Reo could count the amount of chocolate he was given as fatal, if he were to eat it all in one sitting.
He’d always except the gifts because he felt rude if he turned them down. He’d always tried to let everyone who confessed off gently, and in the most respectful way possible.
There was only one person Reo had eyes for, and that man was Nagi Seishiro.
He’d won Reo’s heart the moment they met back at the stairwell all those months ago. Even if it took time for Nagi to warm up to Reo and playing soccer it was all worth it.
Reo thinks that day must’ve been fate , or a miracle .
Two people who were complete opposites. Two people from opposite backgrounds, two people who had completely different ideas for their future in life, two people who were unlikely to ever find their lives entwined with one another.
Nagi and Reo were two people who were brought together— connected one day through an unexpected circumstance, and ever since the two have been practically inseparable.
That was a miracle .
Reo hoped that in every universe he’d meet Nagi, and they’d stay forever intertwined like they are now.
He showered, got dressed, ate breakfast, and made his way out of the door. Well… not before informing his parents about the plans after-school.
“Father?”
His father perked up from the mail he had been scanning through, he rose an eyebrow signalling Reo to continue.
“I have someone for you and Mother to meet tonight. Like a special-someone.”
His heart was pounding. He was extremely nervous, he didn’t want his parents to hate Nagi, or anyone he was friends with for that matter.
“Okay.”
He went back to scanning through the mail, and Reo could only sigh in relief. This was one of the best responses he could have got.
Reo was more concerned he would receive a, “No way. We already have someone for you.” As a response.
Making his way outside he informed Ba-ya that they were picking up Nagi like usual, and bringing him back to the Mikage Household after school rather than Nagi’s apartment.
Reo was shaking the entire drive to Nagi’s apartment. Even if the relationship was fake, even if this all met nothing to Nagi. Reo couldn’t help his nerves.
The door opened and Nagi hopped in as he did every morning. Nothing was different; he dressed the same, looked the same, and the expression on his face was still as disinterested as usual.
“You okay, Reo?”
“He saw right through me!”
Reo could only give an awkward smile, “Sorry…just worried about later.”
Nagi frowned in response. “Does this have to do with me?”
Reo immediately began shaking his head, ‘no.’
“My parents are just hard to impress.., and that on top how stressful school will be today with confessions. I just have a lot on my mind.” He gave a soft smile that Nagi easily saw through, “I don’t want you to leave me—and throw our dream away because of my parents…”
Nagi grabbed Reo’s hand and softly rubbed his thumb back and forth, “Might as well begin practicing now.”
Reo could feel his nerves ease as Nagi attempted to calm him down, although this helped, he could feel his heartbeat increase.
“I don’t think your parents can say something that’ll make me throw our entire dream away. You’re my only friend Reo. The only person who has ever shown interest in a slacker like me. I admire you for that. I’d never leave your side.”
Reo was definitely more calm than before. Well —until Nagi didn’t let go of his hand when they arrived at school.
“No one else gets to confess to you. You’re my Valentine Reo.”
Was this Nagi’s attempt to make Valentine’s Day less stressful for Reo?
He had mentioned it before, but would people stop confessing just because Nagi was all over him?
Nagi let go once they reached the classroom. Reo could feel the eyes of his peers burning him as they stared. There has always been whispers and rumors about him and Nagi’s friendship, but there was definitely going to be more now.
They were never going to beat the allegations .
Reo still got plenty of confessions. Before class started a mix of girls and guys approached his desk asking; to meet him after school, giving him gifts, and letters “from friends.”
For once, Reo didn’t have to turn them down because Nagi was right next to him breaking the poor students hearts.
“He has a Valentine.”
“He has plans after school.”
“Reo and I are going somewhere after school.”
“Reo’s going to be busy.”
This is the most Reo has ever seen Nagi has ever communicated with other people in the time he’s known him.
It was nice to know that Nagi didn’t mind being his fake boyfriend and Valentine.
Reo could feel the butterflies fluttering in his stomach as he was around Nagi today. He always had these feelings, but it was as if they were amplified today.
Everytime Nagi would touch him the contact would burn him in the best way possible. Only igniting his feelings more as if he was wood and Nagi was the fire.
Nagi did all of these actions everyday yet—all of this only impacted Reo more.
It was as if all of his feelings ran wild throughout his body because he could barely contain himself around Nagi.
..
School went by quicker than Reo would’ve liked. Nagi was more affectionate than usual if that was even possible! Reo didn’t even have to ask.
He wonders if Nagi heard his conversation with Kunigami and Chigiri because he was following all of the advice they gave.
The two happily waltzed their way to the limo after classes. Fingers interlaced. All of Reo’s nerves were at ease around Nagi.
He was overjoyed—filled with happiness, even if this was the only day the two would do this, hand holding, hugging, even light flirting, Reo wanted to make the most of it.
Nagi was Reo’s sun . Center of his solar system, and the driving force for his world.
The weather forecast for today was supposed to be cloudy, but as he walked next to Nagi he stared up at the sky. No clouds, just the sun brightly beaming down on them.
All of Reo’s worries went away as if Nagi was some sort of magic. With Nagi’s hand in his own, Reo felt like he could do anything .
Ba-ya welcomed the two into the limo.
The way she glanced between the two then their hands.
Reo knew that she knew, but he trusted Ba-ya not to say anything.
In the back of the car Reo felt himself getting anxious once more. He didn’t want his parents to hate Nagi. He loved Nagi!
“You should call me Seishiro, or Sei, Seishiro is too long.” Nagi suggested, “I call you by your first name, and I see a lot of couples do it. Plus, it’d make this whole thing a lot more believable.”
“Okay… Sei.”
God…fuck— Reo loved saying his name, he wanted to repeat it over and over like a prayer. It sounded so perfect, especially coming from his lips.
“I’m glad we’re doing this,
Reo felt his heart slow and almost stop,
…no soccer practice.”
Nevermind .
What did he expect? This was a botched confession that was now a fake relationship.
“ That’s a hassle , but being around you isn’t.”
Did Nagi know he had a way with words?
Well sometimes. Definitely not the first thing he said.
Reo smiled. He squeezed Nagi’s hand tightly, “How aren’t you nervous?”
“There’s not much to be nervous about. I know you won’t hate me if your parents do, and you’ll do anything to see me.” Nagi explained, “I also wouldn’t blame them for disliking me.”
Reo felt a frown form on his face, “Don’t say that, Sei…”
Nagi met his eyes and nodded. Reo knew why he said it. People have always disliked Nagi, the rumors at school, the fact that Reo was Nagi’s first friend, Reo never understood it.
He was infatuated with Nagi.
How could anyone hate him?
It was only a matter of time until they had arrived. This was the first time Nagi had ever been there. The two exited the car, thanking Ba-ya, and approached the front door.
When Reo looked to his right Nagi was in awe. He was looking up at the huge mansion Reo lived in.
“Huge…”
Reo smiled.
“I’ll buy you a house of this size someday…”
He definitely didn’t intend to say that aloud. Nagi looked over at Reo, with an eyebrow raised in confusion.
“Yeah, okay, but I don’t know what’d I do with all the space.” Nagi pondered, “Maybe a huge gaming room?”
Reo nodded.
“Anything you want you can have, my treasure.”
Reo unlocked and opened the lavishly large door with his house key. He could see his hand shaking as he turned the lock. No matter how many times Nagi has attempted to reassure him, Reo’s nerves only continue to come back.
Their hands were no longer interlaced as they made their way through the entrance.
Nagi’s eyes darted all over the room, the high ceilings, the elegant flooring, and the expensive paintings and decorations all over the walls.
Before entering further the two had dropped their bags on hooks by my door, and their shoes on the ground.
The boys could smell food as they entered further in the house. The chefs must’ve been cooking a feast with a range of aromas filling their senses.
Nagi followed Reo as he made his way to the dining room.
The table was being set and food was being brought out as they entered. It was as if they were at a buffet a tons of options.
At the table sat two people, Reo’s parents, an older looking man with short black hair, and facial hair, he had eyebags under his eyes, and a business suit on. His mother had a similar purple shade of hair to Reo, short barely to her ears, she also wore rather fancy looking clothing, and gold earrings in both ears.
Reo met his parents' eyes putting his hands on Nagi’s shoulders.
“Father, mother, meet Nagi Seishiro.”
Nagi could feel himself being judged by their eyes alone. They were looking all over him as if they were told to “ find something .”
“Nice to meet you!” His mother said with a very obvious forced smile, “Come take a seat you two, dinners almost done.”
If she kept smiling like this her cheek bones were going to hurt later.
Reo was mentally preparing himself for the inquiry. Nagi and him haven’t discussed how they started dating, nor much about what to say when asked in general.
If only he had prepared more.
Reo knew he could probably fabricate a story on the spot, but he was more worried about Nagi slipping up.
All the food had arrived and they had begun to eat. It was silent at first, and Reo was worried his parents would notice his shaking, him sweating, or the way his heart was beating so loud it was the only noise in his ears.
“So…Seishiro.” His mother broke the silence once more, “What do you want to do in the future?”
That was one of the worst questions she could have asked.
“In the future I plan to fulfill my promise with Reo, make it all the way, and win the World Cup.” The tone in Nagi’s voice was different from the one he was used to. It had more energy in it, and sounded like it had at least a little bit of interest, “This dream is what brought us together. It was also what caused our friendship to blossom in romance.”
Nagi’s hand grabbed Reo’s under the table and kept them interlaced atop of Reo’s thigh.
Reo has never seen this side of Nagi. One that was decent with words, one that didn’t think everythings a hassle, he was doing everything perfectly .
Nagi did everything right to calm Reo’s nerves.
“That’s great!” Reo’s mom kept up her fake smile and cheery tone of voice. Neither of his parents supported his soccer career, and so he heavily doubted that they'd support his boyfriends either.
“Seishiro.” His father had spoken up, “Why soccer of all professions. You go to a school that’ll get you a good job in business in the future, so why throw that away?” He inquired, his tone rather harsh.
“I chose soccer to stay by Reo’s side.” He met Reo’s eyes as he squeezed his hand tighter.
If Reo wasn’t already in love then he definitely was now.
“Honey…about your relationship…how’d you two start dating?”
“I asked out Sei. A few months ago, we’d done some extra practice just the two of us, and I thought it was the perfect time to ask him.” Reo smiled.
“Exactly how it went.” Nagi also smiled.
He smiled.
Nagi rarely smiles.
Reo felt his smile grow wider as he looked at Nagi. He never wanted this day to end.
Dinner was still semi-awkward, but Reo’s sure everything went well. He had a few things in mind that he wanted to do with Nagi to make the most of today, but first…
“Here.”
The two were in Reo’s bedroom now, he was standing near his desk where he held a present.
“You didn’t need to get me anything…” Nagi replied, I didn’t get you anything.
“I did. You can say it’s a thank you for today.”
Nagi nodded as he unwrapped the present. There was a small white box, “Are you proposing to me?” Nagi teased, in the same disinterested voice he always had. He opened the box and there was a ring, with a white gemstone in the middle,
“Oh, you really are…”
“It’s a matching ring, silly.” He held out his hand to display a similar ring, one that Reo always wore, but instead of white it had a purple gemstone, “See.”
Nagi nodded.
“We should play video games I’m tired, moving is a hassle.”
Reo smiled despite feeling all his preparation go to waste. He had plenty of activities planned for them to do today, but he didn’t mind playing games with Nagi.
“Yeah.”
As long as Nagi didn’t fall asleep they’d have time to do everything.
Nagi followed Reo to the “movie theater room” in Reo’s house, it had the largest TV, and there were also plenty of games to play on it.
Nagi went through the games that Reo had bought a few days prior, he knew Nagi well enough to know that this might happened, Nagi grabbed Mario Kart and turned towards Reo, “Wanna play this?”
“I’m playing?”
Nagi nodded.
“Oh! Sure!”
Nagi smiled, this is the most Reo has ever seen Nagi smile, the last time he saw this expression on his face was when he bought Nagi the new Call of Duty game a month ago.
Reo sat on the couch while Nagi set up the game, “I’ve never seen you do so much on your own.” Reo teased.
“Mm…usually a hassle…not when it comes to you though.”
Did Nagi know what he was saying?
Did he think about what these words were doing to Reo?
Reo was going to go insane before the day was over.
“You want me to show you how to play?”
Reo nodded, Nagi had got the game set up and displayed on the TV. He sat close to Reo showing him where to out his hands, and what each button would do.
Reo wasn’t listening though—Nagi’s breath on his neck—Nagi touching him was driving him insane. He prayed that Nagi couldn’t hear his heartbeat, or the way his breathing became irregular the closer he got, or the shakiness in his hands, the sweat on his palms.
If he did notice it, Reo was grateful he didn’t point it out, he can’t take anymore embarrassment this week.
As night drew on it only became colder and colder, despite the expensive heaters the Mikage’s owned, Nagi found himself cold. He naturally ran cold. His body temp is lower than most, he’d assume.
Reo was losing every race, terribly too, Nagi couldn’t find himself celebrating anymore. Nagi paid more attention to Reo, and his reactions as he struggled to stay on course, or the way he’d get angry when he couldn’t reverse.
Halfway through their fifth race Reo was angrily mumbling about how stupid the controls are as he failed to get back on course. His character was driving into the wall and instead of pressing reverse he continued to press the gas.
Nagi felt a smile grace his lips then a snort, followed by a quick soft laugh, “Need my help?”
Reo wasn’t driving anymore; he was in awe of Nagi's ability to laugh. The usual uninterested bored boy was showing Reo every expression today. It was like unlocking new features to a character.
Reo also broke into laughter, forgetting his anger and frustration he had over the game just a few moments ago.
“Hey, Nagi?”
“Sei.”
Reo sighed, he was going to need to get used to that, “Hey, Sei?”
“Hm?”
“Wanna go bake?”
“I’m not good at baking, Reo.”
“We’ll do it together. I can help you. Yeah?”
“Okay.”
Reo kicked—no that’s too harsh —Reo allowed his chefs to go on break as him and Nagi took over the kitchen.
“We’ll cook basic cookies!”
Nagi nodded. He followed Reo’s lead and listened to the instructions that Reo gave him.
Reo would grab and measure the ingredients and Nagi would pour and mix them. It made baking go way quicker and easier well until—
Nagi put his fingers in the cup of flour taking some out and throwing it at Reo.
“Sei!”
Nagi looked away from him, masking and smile and continuing to mix.
“Hm? What happened?” He asked, he was good at keeping his poker face and keeping his laugh deep in his throat.
Before he could get a response he felt flour cover his face and his clothes.
“Payback.” Reo laughed, once he saw Nagi grab for the flour he ran to the other side of the counter ducking down and hiding. He couldn’t mask his laughter as he sat there on the floor hearing Nagi’s footsteps grow closer.
“Come here.”
Reo shook his head as he saw Nagi peek over the counter.
“I wont throw flour on you I swear. We need to finish the cookies.”
The offer was tempting but as Reo stood up his face was met with flour. He could hear Nagi cackling as he ducked down so Reo couldn’t get him.
“You need to laugh more. Your laugh is pretty .”
Reo made his way back to Nagi’s side of the counter. Nagi was sitting on the floor begging for mercy,
“Truce please! I won’t throw anymore please!” He begged, a laugh present in his voice, his hands covered his face as he turned it to his right.
Reo grabbed a fistful of flour before hovering over Nagi. He had his knees on each side of his waist, and his free hand trying to move Nagi’s hands away from his face.
Once his face was visible Reo threw the flour painting his face in the white powder.
“That’s final! We’re done! No more.” Reo declared. He was still on top of Nagi who was wiping the flour off of his face. The counters, the floor, the two boys and their clothes were covered in the mess of flour.
When Reo realized their position he immediately jumped up mumbling an inaudible sorry!
Baking with Nagi was fun.
Shockingly they finished the batter, formed the shapes, and put the tray in the oven.
Nagi sat on the floor of the kitchen complaining that he had been standing for too long.
Reo grabbed a mop and cleaned the floor of flour, then he cleaned the counter afterwards.
After this he squatted down in front of Nagi, he held a wet-lukewarm hand towel in his hand and began to clean the flour off of his neck and face.
“Thanks, Reo. You’re a mess too.” He said, running his fingers through Reo’s bangs, “Flour in your hair.” He mumbled.
Reo finished cleaning up Nagi quickly before jumping up and cleaning himself up.
They’ve been too close today— and Reo finds himself getting more nervous each time.
“You want to watch a movie, Sei?”
Reo pulled the cookies out of the oven, the timing between cleaning and cooking was perfect.
“Sure. No more active stuff— too much of a pain .”
“That’s fine!”
The two plated the cookies and made their way back to Reo’s bedroom. He had a huge king-sized bed, and a TV right across from it, just as big. I mean Reo’s entire room was massive.
“Your house is so cold.” Nagi complained.
“I’ll get you a change of clothes when we get to my room, then you can get under the blankets. I have some clothes that are too big for me. They’ll probably fit you well.”
Nagi nodded and sat down on the chair by Reo’s desk, he swung around in the office chair, his lips eliciting a, “Wooosh!”
Reo put his hands on the back of the chair giving more force to Nagi’s spin. Watching him spin around in circles.
Once Nagi stopped spinning complaining of dizziness he grabbed the clothes from Reo’s hand.
“You can change in here, I’ll look away.”
“Why? You are my boyfriend.” Nagi whispered. Reo tensed up and made his way to the bed, he felt his face flush, his body turn to jelly, he practically collapsed onto the bed as his legs gave out.
Nagi made him weak in the knees.
Nagi changed, Reo keeping his eyes off of him, Reo had already got into comfortable clothes, changing while Nagi was busy spinning.
Only a few moments later Nagi was under the covers next to Reo. He was visibly shivering, only his eyes and hair peeking out from under the blanket.
Reo laughed, “You good?”
“No… it’s cold…”
As Reo said before, when he was around Nagi, close to him like this, he felt like he could do anything.
So this explained his new found confidence, he found himself pushing his nerves back, and getting on top of Nagi.
“Hi…”
“Hey.” Nagi’s hands grabbed Reo’s arms which were placed at both sides of Nagi’s head. His knees were on either side of Nagi’s waist.
Nagi’s fingers trailed up and down his arms leaving light taps as he moved.
After not being rejected Reo’s confidence only increased.
“Do you know what you’ve been doing to me today?”
Nagi shook his head back and forth, never taking his eyes off of Reo’s own.
“ Today —in the kitchen all I’ve wanted to do is pin you against the floor and kiss you , I’ve wanted to touch you—hug you, and never let you go.”
“What’s stopping you?”
With that Reo quickly met their lips, it wasn’t the best kiss, teeth clashing, nose’s bumping, but after a few seconds they regulated themselves.
Nagi’s lips moved messily against Reo’s it was obvious he had never kissed anyone before, Reo wasn’t very experienced either, he had kissed here and there, pecks during truth or dare, and other experiments throughout the years.
Nagi really was a genius. In under a minute he was skilled, his lips moving against Reo’s, riling him up, Reo swore he got addicted right then and there.
Reo pulled back, panting, Nagi pulled him into a hug, burying his head in his purple locks.
“I’ve also wanted to do that all day…” Nagi mumbled, he released Reo from the tight grasp he held him in. Nagi moved his lips down to Reo’s forehead, leaving a kiss.
“Yesterday…when I asked you to do this , that was originally going to be a confession…” Reo mumbled, he could feel his cheeks grow red in embarrassment, “I got nervous—and—made this up.”
“It did work out though, didn't it.”
“Huh?”
“Reo…was me not kissing you enough?” Nagi asked, he flicked Reo’s forehead playfully, “I like you, Reo—love you, and I have for a while.”
“Is this why Chigiri called me oblivious?” Reo groaned, he buried his head in Nagi’s neck.
Now it all made sense… today made sense now.
“I thought I made it obvious, Reo…”
“No!? I never realized it.”
“You are oblivious , Reo.” Nagi patted his head, before kissing his forehead once again, “I’ve loved you for so long. At first I thought you were weird for taking interest in someone like me—but soon those thoughts developed into romantic feelings, I started to realize that I longed for you—that I liked to be around you.” Nagi continued.
“Was that a good confession? Unlike what you tried yesterday.”
“Shut up!” Reo playfully pinched his side, “Chigiri already teased me enough yesterday. You’re supposed to make me feel better.”
“Mm, sorry.” Nagi rubbed his back affectionately, “This is nice, todays been great, Reo. Thank you.”
“See! That’s better.”
Reo hugged Nagi back tightly—so tightly some would think he was trying to break his ribs.
“Are you warm yet?”
“Mhm… my personal heater, Reo.”
“And you’re my treasure , Sei.”
He felt Nagi kiss his temples once more as a, yes.
“So tired, your bed is superrr comfy, going to sleep now.”
Reo couldn’t help but laugh, typical Nagi, “Goodnight Sei, I love you.”
“I love you too.”
