Omega Aegon had just finished his presentation in his guest chambers when the eye incident occurred.
Due to the presentation enhancing his emotions and clouding his rationality, he runs to his siblings once he hears about it, the Omega inside of him terrified of what has happened to his little brother.
No one besides the Beta guards protecting him knew he was presenting so it was a big shock to everyone when Aegon bursts into the throne room. (Jacaerys was just about to tell Rhaenyra what Aemond said.)
Alicent and Otto were deeply disappointed once they smelled his flowery scent.
Helaena and Aemond become fearful for Aegons life for they knew Otto plans to sell Aegon as a broodmare as soon as possible.

Lucerys thought Aegon was awe-inspiring to have run to his siblings to protect them. Jacaerys had other thoughts that he didn't quite understand yet.

Jacaerys instinctively defends his mother by revealing what Aemond said.

Screams fill the room as Rhaenyra pulls Aegon into a protective embrace, Helaena, Baela, Rhaena, and Lucerys joining in Rhaenyra's attempts to calm the new Omega down. As that was happening the Kingsguard were attempting to get Daemon to stand down to no avail. Viserys then demands Aegon why he would dare think Rhaenyra is a kinslayer, but surprisedly she yells in Aegons defense, saying he shouldn't be yelling at his son and instead should be questioning the obvious source of his fears.
Before Viserys could respond, Aemond quietly says, "We've been taught for years that we are challenges to Rhaenyra's claim, that she would kill us to ensure we wouldn't be threats to her."
Silence. Alicent looks betrayed. Otto was furious.
Viserys then demands Aemond who's been teaching them this.
After a few moments of tense silence, he finally utters a name. "Otto."
He knew he was condemning his grandfather, his mother's only living parent, to death, but he didn't care anymore.
He was the reason for mother's paranoia, Aegons insecurities, Helaena's sadness, and his own bitterness. Otto Hightower was better off dead.
So with the king's permission, Daemon slices the old Hand's head off.

Years passed and things drastically changed. Some good, some bad.
Due to the incident, Alicent became depressed and isolated herself in her chambers, refusing to see any of her children.
The Blacks were still forced to flee to Dragonstone.
But not before Rhaenrya made her father swear to be more involved with his children's lives. That's when the positive changes begin.
Viserys apologize for neglecting them and their mother, promising to do better.
Aegon, Helaena, and Aemond appreciate the apology but say they need time to forgive him. He accepts that.
Daemon sends loyal guards and spies to protect his nephews and niece, along with a maester to help Aegon adjust to his Omegan status.
Aegon grows into an incredibly beautiful and charming young man, a true Targaryen beauty.
Viserys holds a grand feast for Aegons sixteen birthday, inviting many Houses in hopes of finding him a suitable mate, wanting to see his eldest son loved before he died. Rhaenyra and her family attend.
Jacaerys is awestruck by his uncle. He soon falls in love with his boldness, kindness, patience, and sass.
He presents early in his guest chambers as an Alpha later that night, forcing the Blacks to leave early.
Four years pass, Aegon remains unmated and though Viserys' health was declining and he wishes to see his eldest son happily married, he respects Aegon's choice to wait.
Suddenly Lucerys presents as an Omega at sixteen. Viserys uses Lucerys's long-awaited presentation as an excuse to call for a family-only feast.
Jacaerys reunites with Aegon at the dinner party and he can't take his eyes off him, his Alpha yearns to mate him.
Aegon blushes as he avoids Jacaerys eyes, attempting to listen to Helaena's rambles to distract himself. But his Omega was yearning for him as well. Jaecerys has grown so handsome and he's treated Aegon like he was the most precious being in existence.

Helaena claps excitedly while Aemond glares at his eldest nephew, having grown fiercely protective of his brother since the incident.
