Two lawyers, Phoenix Wright, and Maya Fey, were very good friends and it seemed like they were going to stay like that forever, normally people don't see any problems with a friendship between a man and a woman but there was one person who hated this dynamic because she thought that these two had something more between them, she thought that Phoenix and Maya had feelings for each other and she has her arguments based on the events of the last years, Phoenix gave his life and many times risked his physical integrity to save Maya from dangerous situations or dangerous people and Maya did the same for him, preventing Von Kharma from winning the Edgeworth's case in just one day and saving Phoenix from losing his badge for almost presenting false evidence which was forged by someone with evil intentions.
Note: This fanfic is set in an alternate universe, where Phoenix Wright didn't lose his badge, all because Maya saved his butt at the last second.
Pearl Fey was stunned by the fact that neither of them took the initiative to take a step forward in their relationship, Phoenix and Maya always gave vague and ambiguous answers about their romantic lives, she was the only one who noticed this for a long time and she had who fight against this lack of attitude of these two alone, but now things changed a little, she gained a valuable ally in this endeavor, none other than Trucy Wright, the adopted daughter of Phoenix since she was abandoned by her father who decided to run away rather than face his sentence or even appeal to another courtroom
Trucy was twelve years old and had been Phoenix's daughter for four years, Pearl was a little older at thirteen her chronological age.
The two had the same thought, unite these two and make them a couple, but how they should do that?
Pearl thought initially and push the two against each other and make the two kiss by accident, Trucy disapproved of the idea because she believed that an accident would not be able to generate a genuine and lasting relationship, she suggested waiting for Christmas to do the mistletoe trick, but Pearl rejected this idea as it was still eight months to Christmas and they had no way of predicting what would happen in eight months
The two stayed for hours thinking about a plan until an idea was chosen by the two as the ideal one, and that idea consists in:
Locking Phoenix and Maya inside a tight cabinet for a few hours and letting the situation happen naturally, Pearl said that was an idea she got from a Japanese movie that she watched a week ago
Trucy agreed with the idea because she read fanfic where a couple was in this situation and eventually confessed romantically.
Even at the risk of nothing happening, they wanted to try this idea.
So the plan was to drug them and put the duo in the office cabinet, but how to do that without waking them up in the process? How would they carry Phoenix Wright and Maya Fey? How would they find a substance that acts like a tranquilizer and makes them unconscious? And above all, how to make it seem accidental to not raise suspicion about them?
They planned to execute this plan in forty-eight hours, so no time could be wasted.
First, how to get a tranquilizer?
Pearl thought about going to a pharmacy and buying one, but she remembered some factors that make this idea impossible
1st: They did not have money to buy this medication
2nd: They did not have a medical prescription to buy this medicine
3rd: Why the shopkeeper would sell a tranquilizer to two girls aged twelve and thirteen respectively?
4th How to make Phoenix and Maya take this medication? Since they wouldn't take this without a good reason
Then Pearl remembered that her cousin, Mia Fey, takes medication to manage her anxiety
Note: Mia Fey didn't die in this universe, she suffered some injuries in the head that eventually healed over time but this incident still generates fear and anxiety for Mia who needs to take medication to keep her emotions stable
She was taking StainCweel, a powerful medicine that if taken in large doses can make a person very drowsy or even faint.
Okay, so the first step has already been taken, now how do they can get these drugs without being noticed?
Trucy thought about breaking into Mia's house to steal the medicine but Pearl remembered that Mia lived in an apartment and that entry was controlled.
Pearl then remembered that Mia had left some of her medicine in her old office, where Phoenix and Maya currently work.
She left it there in case she forgot to leave it with her in the bag
Pearl and Trucy went to the attic and got a whole cartel of SteinCweel, but now, how to make them take this medication?
There were two rows of packs with four pills in each, so Trucy had an idea, she was earning money from the shows she was organizing and that money could be used to order a pizza, and using that loophole, they could make an orange juice where they could put the pills and thus be able to put their plan into practice
They would make the juice with the blender, so it was only necessary to put the pills
there and no one would feel the difference, since the medicine tasted like an orange
Note: This medicine tastes like an orange because it is a fruit that Mia likes, there are other fruit options or even a tasteless one
So everything was orchestrated and planned for that night, Trucy would be in the attic and Pearl would stay in the main part of the office and manage the situation for it to turn out the way it was expected to happen.
Both would communicate via Walk-Talkies they had bought at a toy store, who knew that would come in handy one day?
So that's when Operation Confession Behind Closed Doors began.
