20 ColdWave Love Coupons

Summary:

«Twenty love vouchers you can exchange when you need love, cuddles, attention or a good massage. This is an excellent token of my trust in you and I hope you redeem at most three a day. These coupons are only valid for you and me as long as we're very good FRIENDS.»

This was written on the cover of the chequebook Lisa had given them on their last visit. His sister had thought it was a good way to tease them, but a gift was a gift.

Maybe it would be fun to use it.

Notes:

Welp, this idea came from going into a shop with Valentine's Day stuff, and buying a chequebook with romantic coupons, and as my friend and I are ultra obsessed with Legends of Tomorrow rn, we thought: what if Lisa gave one of these to Mick and Len?

And there it is, the result, I hope you like it! ♥️

Pd: english is not our first language, sorry.

Chapter 1: A list of things you love about me

Chapter Text

This coupon is valid for a hand-writing list of your 15 favourite things about me. Any complaint of reference after the list is complete, should be presented in a formal way and sent to your ass.

1. I love the way you look after me.

Leonard crossed out the sentence he had just written. This was absurd. They didn't do that shit. Fuck the cheque book and the coupons. Lisa had the worst idea of her entire existence, and Mick was a real asshole for sneaking into his plans with it. Len was planning a job. He had no time to waste making an absurd and silly list.

"This is stupid," Leonard muttered.

It was late, past midnight. The safe house was so quiet that Len could hear Mick snoring in the other room. Leonard figured he should be in bed next to him, but he had a lot of planning to do. Planning always was first during the planning period. That was true, the hard part was over a few days ago, but it wasn't over yet. Len suspected that was why Mick had decided to use Lisa's gift now.

Len could get careless to the limit when he got into planning, and Mick hated that. At this point, everyone could think that Leonard had learned his lesson, but he hadn't. Everything was for their safety. If they went with an unfinished plan, their lives could be in danger, and Len would never deliberately put his partner's life at risk.

Staring at the list, Len picked up the pen again. He rewrote the first sentence, adding one line at a time. If Mick wanted a list, Len would give him a list.

2. I love that happy smile you have when you're writing.

3. I love the way you frown when you're sleeping.

4. I love...

Leonard blushed when he wrote, and he hated it. Initially, the list was supposed to have fifteen things that Len loved about Mick, but with each line, Len felt that this number wasn't enough, and he ended up with fifty-five sappy things.

Damn, he was a middle-aged man, not a teenager blushing at the thought of his crush. They'd never been great with words of love, but they didn't need to be. Leonard had no doubt that Mick loved him, and so did he. Or so it should have been. Len held his breath with a realisation. What if Mick had doubts, and that's why he'd given him the damn voucher?

Fear twisted in his stomach. It was true that he had spent the last few weeks concentrating on the next job, but that didn't mean he was neglecting Mick. They were used to this working pattern. If the coup went well, his husband would have his undivided attention until they started preparing for the next one.

That didn't mean Mick felt ignored... did it?

Leonard had never been the best when it came to social skills. True, he knew how to be charming and charismatic, and he knew Mick better than he knew himself. But on the other hand, he always missed little clues that had to do with social interaction. So if it was indirect, because Mick felt lonely, Leonard would do it. Even a fifty-five-point list wasn't enough for Len to show Mick how much he loved him. Leonard would do anything for Mick. He would kill for him, he would die for him... anything.

They had been together for almost thirty years at this point, and they had never done anything like this before. Len married the man because Mick made him happy, and the ring on his finger was proof enough.

Well, maybe this stupid chequebook could be fun, Leonard thought as he placed the list on his pillow, next to Mick's head, so that his husband would see it when he woke up. Len leaned down to give his husband a gentle kiss on the cheek.

"Here's your damn list," Len whispered. "Rest assured, I'll get you for forcing me to be soft and a lovebird, you idiot."
