Bucky had been dreaming of this day for a very long time. When he was a little boy he secretly fantasized about this, marrying a beautiful and kind man. Someone who cared for him and loved him. For the longest time he believed it was just a silly dream. He couldn’t actually marry a man.
Then the war happened and war didn’t leave much space for any dreams. During his time with Hydra, no dreams were had at all. But then he was free and the dreams began again. And now they could actually become a reality. Things were better now, easier. It made Bucky happy.
And Thor, Thor was the perfect man to star in Bucky’s dreams. They remained dreams at first but then quickly became something more. Thor liked Bucky too! They fell in love and after a few years they were ready for the next step. Thor got down on one knee and asked Bucky to marry him. Bucky said yes, of course.
And then, finally, today, they stood in front of all their friends and promised each other forever. They were finally getting married and Bucky was the happiest guy in the world. He knew he and Thor would lead a long and happy life.
It really felt like this was meant to be, like they were meant to share this happiness together. They had both waited a long time to meet and marry their person and they fit together perfectly like two puzzle pieces. It was why Bucky knew they would finally get their happily ever after. The universe had asked a lot of them and now they were getting something in return. A happy life, a happy marriage. They would get a lot of love, always.
It truly couldn’t get much better than this.
